This whole album is based on Phil Bozemans childhood growing up. He went through a lot and now he’s one of the best deathcore artists :) in my opinion. Also react to the song hickory creek by white chapel as well. Really shows the range this group possesses

This is one of the most emotional heavy songs created ... it's so amazing
This song is actually about his mother and Childhood. When Phil was child, his mother was diagnosed as having 34 different personalities, who all made sporadic appearances in her journal each having a different handwriting. His mother reportedly said that she was being tormented by the Demon Mycar.
Yep so sad but such an awesome song.
Basically, Phil's mother (the woman in the video depicting her) had schizophrenia, among other things.
She would claim to be seemingly haunted by a demon near constantly. Giving her these horrific ideations and such.
When the woman is leafing through a journal with strange images and such, it's a representation of the journal Phil's mother used where it apparently had "some of the most disturbing and depraved" shit he had ever seen.
This journal holding things ranging from things the demon said to her, that she thought herself, to strange drawings, and such.
The song and parts of the album as a whole, were heavily inspired from this journal and Phil's experiences with his mother.
From what I've heard this is taken from his mothers diary. She suffered from schizofrenia, alchoholism and a drug addiction.
The whole album is incredible. Such an evolution to their sound
Theme throughout this album is some heavy shit. Such a solid album, was in my top 5 albums of 2019.
"Third Depth" is another good one from this album that is heavy and has good cleans
Brimstone's opening riff and scream is hella nasty !!

I rarely comment on videos but I enjoy your channel a lot and just wanted to second that you check out Hickory Creek and BRING ME HOME. Both just great songs that delve into the hardships that Phil Bozeman has lived through.
Also, this song in particular, is based on journals from Phil's mother where she talked about seeing a demon on a regular basis. So I believe the video is just a storyline of a demon tormenting a witch.
I have listened to this song probably 30x the last couple weeks while driving around at work all day

Its an amazing song and the cleans doesnt bother me at all. the middle part when he sang acually made the song even more deeper and better.
A lot of these songs were about his mom. I'm pretty sure this one was about his mom (the witch) and here boyfriend (the demon). Great album with a little more emotion. Doom Woods and Black Bear are just badass and hickory creek is more of a ballad. I recommend checking any of those out
Hickory creek has probably become one of my top 5 favorite songs. It is such an emotional song. I love this whole album actually. Especially after you understand what the songs are about.

My interpretation about the meaning is the demon is basically putting negative images and suicidal thoughts in the witches head. A witch was also an outcast of society back in the day so that could be metaphoric as well. The line how could the world take you from me is talking about his mom that passed away. I'm assuming she struggled with these things and maybe she felt like an outcast of society.

The demon in the video saying to the witch your love and soul is mine and even death will never seperate us as she try's her best to leave this world he is there to save her a lot of mental trauma shown in this video but beautiful

Try the final release from the The Valley album, only a few months ago, called Doom Woods. Video is excellent, track is as well.

This song is about his mom who passed away, I don’t remember exactly what it was that she suffered from, but she had a journal that this and a few other songs are based around this one being about when she saw visions of “demons dancing by the fireside” a line from the song and said that she saw the devil defiling a witch, hickory creek is a great song too very different sound from Whitechapel

from my understanding this song is based off Phils Mum and dad, i believe his dad had gotten his mum hooked on hardcore drugs and this is the song explaining his dads betrayal and destruction of the woman Phil loved the most?
Wrong on many levels... this song is about his history with his mother who was seeing stuff in their house,and became severely disturbed because she was convinced she often saw a demon. Phil had a detailed description about the events on Kerrang
