    After shooting all day in torrential rain, wishful thinking got the better of us! To confirm, the new XF 16-50mm is weather resistant; however, the X-T50 doesn't have weather sealing. Although, I have to say, for a camera with no weather sealing, it survived a frankly abhorrent shooting day of torrential rain, which is pretty impressive.

    Thanks for the great review, just needs one adjustment - like the X-T30II, there's no weather sealing on the X-T50. The new kit lens is WR, but the camera isn't.

    This is the best review of this camera I’ve seen so far so thank you for actually taking the time to use the camera. I’m so surprised though that no one is demonstrating how the drive controls work now that the dial is gone. I’ve seen photos of the camera showing that the delete button doubles as a drive button. Does that mean that you can scroll through the options with a wheel? To me that would actually be better than the wheel because my hands could stay in shooting position. Luckily I’m going to the X-summit consumer day this afternoon so I’ll be able to find out for myself but I think a lot of people who are not liking the missing drive dial would like to know what has to be done to get to those functions in the new camera. Did you try it out when you had the camera?

      Great question: it's a shame that it hasn't been answered yet.

    • @mpbcom
      @mpbcom  4 месяца назад +1

      Hey there! It is indeed a button and then you can scroll through the options using the joystick. It wasn't super cumbersome, and you're right about being able to easily keep shooting whilst changing the setting. I personally preferred the dial, purely so I could see the shooting mode when the camera was on my lap or hanging on the shoulder strap.
      How did you find it when you went to the X-summit? Thanks for watching - Amy

    I would love to know the comparison between the X-T50 and the X-S20. These are so close in price that making that decision is more where I’m at. Just looking at spec comparison, it’s hard to determine. Shooting real estate photos and video, so having good for both is important.

    • @Raist3db
      @Raist3db 4 месяца назад +1

      If you want good video, XS20 is better. The 26MP sensor refreshes at like twice the rate of the 40MP one, less rolling shutter. Like much less.
      If you want absolute small and higher resolution, X-T50. Unless you need higher resolution for your real estate or you want absolute small, it seems the XS20 is a better match for you. It's not like 26MP is low res after all :-)

    • @Philonic
      @Philonic 4 месяца назад

      @@Raist3db Thank you! I didn’t know that about the refresh rate. Would that be the same for the XT5 since that’s a 40MP sensor too?

    • @Raist3db
      @Raist3db 4 месяца назад +1

      @@Philonic Correct. So ironically the "older" 26MP sensor is better here. This is why the X-T4 does in some ways better video than the X-T5 also (same reasons), though the X-T5 has better IBIS.
      I will also say this, the 26MP "old" sensor is still really good. Has enough resolution, DR, color, ISO performance *and* refreshes faster. Some people may assume it's old = bad but it's not bad at all.
      Both sensors have their pros and cons.

  • @LarryJRayak
    @LarryJRayak 4 месяца назад +1

    Thanks for this review and great photos. You're using a supurb lens though for the wildlife shots. How much is down to the camera and how much the lens? Would you get the same results from the same lens on a different camera?

    • @mpbcom
      @mpbcom  4 месяца назад +2

      Glad you enjoyed it! Oh, I am; it is a lovely lens. If you put that lens on the X-T5 (which has the same sensor and processor), then you would see the same results, but if you put that lens on my original X-Pro1 (one of my faves but VERY far behind today's tech), then you would absolutely not see results like this. It is a balance. When I review cameras, I always try to use top-end lenses to fairly show what the cameras are capable of producing; it seems unfair to hamper them with poor lens quality. Although saying that, it is always a struggle to find poor lens quality in the Fujifilm lineup! I hope that helps - Amy 😊
