Best opening line in the history of comedy. Don walks out like a gunfighter and sizes Johnny up and down, and with perfect timing, puts one between the eyes with, "Are you the governor of Guam?" 😂😂😂
No one had the same chemistry with Don as Johnny!! They were true natural friends and it showed. Don was relaxed on Johnny's show and Johnny knew how to let Don roll.
Along with his appearance with Denzel Washington on Letterman, this has to be his best ever 11 minutes on a talk show. And this was in 1991, when he should be well past his peak. Incredible. What a force of nature. Pretty much every gag was on the money.
I was there that night. If they have played "Stump the Band," I would have been on camera. But they did not. Instead, I was on the aisle, and I literally fell into it at one point when Don was busting on Ed.
But, still, while he wasn’t as energetic he still had his whit. He and his wife were coming out of a restaurant and slowly walking past one of the paparazzi, who had a big hat and a long beard, without missing a beat or even looking up Don said to him: “Evening Rabbi. L’haim!”
I worked with Don in the 70s he was one the most gracious people I ever met. When cameras went off, he would take time to talk to the crew and thanked each one if us. He took time to actually chat Super nice guy

One of the funniest moments on Carson with Don Rickles. Don is hilarious!! "Sit back, sit back, Ed. You got the job." Too funny!!

You should see this one. Every 10 minutes Don saying: sit back. OMG that's awesome.
Where are you gonna go when I leave?--classic.

These nights with Carson and Rickles were the best.

Remember when Rickels hosted the tonight show back in the early 70s when Johnny was on vacation . It was comic gold.
Watching these clips and comparing to what is out now???? These guys are true pure talent!!!!
Johnny + Don + Ed = Best trio ever :D
I saw him in the Poconos in 1991 same year as this, and totally hilarious as he worked the crowd!

Don Rickles never peaked … he was sharp and quick til the end
@@ayrton2432 He did peak and every artist has one. Some of The Dinners with Don Rickles were okay, but in some he looked barely there.
1:21 "I'll testify to any thing" I'm dying laughing
Never gets old
I use to have the Tonight show 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Daymm Rickles and Carson and McMahon legends
‘’I said no and they shot my wife.’’ AMAZING
“And they shot my wife” 😂😂😂

Love the moment at 6:30.
Kid comes in with the funny jaw
This one really made me CRACK up.....
bullfight music for Don's entrance = excellent!
YES! I adored Don’s theme music RIP
Don got better with age
Top notch!
Glad you liked it (:
& Carson is underrated =P
@@mateowannacomedyremasterz6605 highly underrated in my opinion. His style of interviewing is therapeutic for me.
I TELL YA DIS . . . I love you Champion 🏆 Mickey Australia 🇦🇺
Off da roof!!!😂
Does anyone know the missing word from the Robocop line?
10:22
Are you the Governor of Guam? lol
0:41 Carson doenst give a damn 🤣
Love the Governor of Guam joke
Are you the governor of Guam??🤣🤣🤣
One hockey puck disliked this
When late was fun
Too sad that they are gone. That is comedy not the bullshit they make today
,,,,, funny, very funny !
But he did retire. He never did anything else. “I used to have the Tonight Show?”
I think Carson thought his health was gonna hold up better than it did. Its a shame really.
That Arsenio Hall zinger was great. At that time Arsenio was stealing ratings which helped Carson to retire. Carson was pissed
Ed burps at 2:42
What does "play the banjo and let big john sleep" means?😂😂
What is wrong with this video? A name is fast forward.
6:31 It's so sad, because Don actually turned into that old man he was making fun of the last 3-4 years of his life.
Dan Maler well, I mean... he was NINETY!
But, still, while he wasn’t as energetic he still had his whit. He and his wife were coming out of a restaurant and slowly walking past one of the paparazzi, who had a big hat and a long beard, without missing a beat or even looking up Don said to him: “Evening Rabbi. L’haim!”
Well, that was mostly because he had that flesh eating disease and had operations,if not for that,he could have more energy
All of us turn into old people if we are as lucky as he was to live long.
I worked with Don in the 70s he was one the most gracious people I ever met. When cameras went off, he would take time to talk to the crew and thanked each one if us. He took time to actually chat
Super nice guy
