What I find interesting is Bronze in OW1 was pretty much players that had bad mechanics and game sense, but in OW2 the average mechanics are much better than they used to be. It could be because the ranks haven't settled yet from the reset.
It's because everyone's mechanics are so bad that they all look normal. For example, nobody has decent positioning or movement so everyone looks kind of cracked with their aim, but they're basically shooing fish in a barrel and every fight is resolved with a bit of a team deathmatch scramble.
I was hard stuck low gold Ana main in OW1, but with the release of OW2 I have climbed from bronze 5 to diamond 5 by one-tricking Moira. Thanks to the new scoreboard my biggest revelation was the fact that if you want to get out of bronze-silver-gold as a support - you have to start to killing enemy by yourself, especially backline. There is no point of investing resources into bastion, who has done only 1500 damage after 5 minutes. So you have to understand moments when killing enemy backline will be more beneficial than investing resources into your teammates. And in bronze-gold it is really easy to outheal 2nd support and outdamage both dpses and tank. And thanks to scoreboard if someone flames you can always point out to scoreboard.
Do yourself a favor and don't look for damage as the only deciding factor if a teammate is "worth your time" or not. I've had roadhogs deal twice the damage of my dps but he only had half the elims, which in term means, all that damage that didn't go into elims effectively only boosted their supports ult charge. If your DD's Damage numbers are really high and elims low, it's likely they are just shooting the tank that gets healed exceptionally well or they need some help finishing off these low hp targets, thus a Zen, Moira or even Mercy Damage boost would work very well for your comp. I mean, yeah, if you get a kill or two every teamfight, great! That WILL get you out of the low metal ranks for sure! But somewhere down the line people will either have the mechanical skill to 1v1 you or their teams awareness is high enough to just pop you instantly, so positioning plays a huge role. The higher the rank, the more value you get out of your healing orb, to the point that you almost get no ult charge from damaging as moira. And if Moira and Genji gets huge nerfs, things will look a lot different too.
@@hiiambarney4489 Agree. I feel this applies to some support characters as well. Obviously, you don't want a heal bot, but it's important to understand that some support characters (ex: Mercy, Ana, Kiriko) just don't have the potential raw dmg output like others (Moira, Bap, Zen) and provide help in other ways. It always irks me when I see a teammate call out a Kiriko of all things for lacking in damage when the kunai only deals 40 dmg, and expecting headshots every-single throw is just unrealistic.
@@hiiambarney4489 but 1500 damage in 5 minutes is 1500 damage in 5 minutes. Basically it means that your teammate is pepega and borderline throwing. In OW1 I had no idea how much useless my teammates could be. So scoreboard in OW2 was a godsend in understanding that simple fact. Obviously starting in plat I adjusted my gameplay, hence I was able to climb up to diamond.
I had this happen to me twice XD once with a Zen who spammed "no" every time someone asked for a heal and another time with a Moira who just fed and did 400 healing the entire game >.> luckily Kiriko is a really strong healer and with the ult you can save the fights :D
God I remember a match when my entire team flamed at a 10min match on our Zen because he had 2.6k and went mostly DPS. Our Mercy has 19K HEALING which is the healing input of the enemy team all put together. What’s worse is that the Mercy is the only one that didn’t flame and just ask the Zen to put Orb of Harmony on her just so she could stay alive longer to heal everyone. The Zen refused. It’s honestly baffling because for 5mins the Zen and the DPS and Tank are yelling over VC and cursing each other. Even the enemy team roasted the Zen and praising the Mercy. At the end of the day, we got the Zen on the next game as an enemy and he started healing. So for the grief of our previous game the former DPS, chose Zen (Flex Q) and I went Tracer and tunnel vision only him. It was worth it.
Especially in a long sight line that is notorious for having snipers at the end of it. Why even risk sticking your head into that tunnel before you know the enemy comp when you can just sit behind cover and heal completely safely.
There's like a 70% chance that Zen was a DPS main who was just playing support for a daily challenge and picked Zen because he'd seen clips of a good Zen player getting a bunch of kills.
The problem with having ranks for each role separately is that u get players like this zen that prolly doesn’t care about being support and just throws.
I came back from Overwatch since I played like 3 years ago I just came back and got Gold 5 Tank and I can say that this gameplay is so funny, the healing, the Zen that does nothing lol
Kiriko: Zen, wtf you're terrible Zen: I'm top 500 on my other account. The support on this team is trash. Kiriko: Dude, you're a support Zen: hurr durrrrr, ez gg.... wait. I can heal shit?
lmao it never ceasses to amaze me watching bronze players and they wonder why they are in bronze becauise they literally run around like headless chickens haha
Ah yes. This is what the new generation of OW players looks like. All Default skins, bar the one guy who looked at the shop and went like " ah yes, this is fine, here have 50 bucks! ". gameplay wise, doesn't look all too different from my plat matches yesterday, I tell you that much, hard cover is SUCH a difficult concept to grasp apparently.
As someone who has been playing Kiriko non stop and got placed in Silver 5 I can say you don’t need to attack so much. Like it feels like you should but your healing and invulnerability goes so much further. If you can get cheeky headshots that’s good. But spamming non-critical shots when you could be healing is not worth it to me…
I had a payload game as well where the support left in round 1 but on the enemy team and we lost 5v4... 👀 I wonder if it was the same game (was on dorado) XD
The heal : damage efficiency from the support is like 3:1. When you see a support has the same amount damage as heal, he literally 80% of the time focus on enemy health bars, barely looking at you
Honestly its just depressing to know this person spent $19-$26 for Witch Kiriko reinforcing to Blizzard that its Okay to charge up the @$$ for these skins.

As a Zenyatta main (and mostly support main) i feel ashamed of people having these play styles of "no healing" as a Zen main i cant even Relax without keeping my team healthy and on the battle, before i do anything i heal my team and that is what supports are supposed to do! (Its in the name god damn it) and combined with so much pressure on them they try to outlive the flanking DPS, healing teammates, Hitting your shots especially with Zen and Kiriko and Survive. Oh and i forgot of how much hate the Support role gets. It is just shameful, it isnt my fault if the Enemy DPS are killing me! And you The DPS aren't fucking protecting me? What do you except me to do as a fucking Zenyatta against a Flanking Reaper, Sombra, Genji or Fucking Sojourn!?!? " Well i mostly like support because of the challenge of Having so much pressure on you to keep your team alive, trying to help with the damage and trying to stay alive. All of that combined makes support a tough challenge and i as Gamer™ i like myself a good challenge.
It isn't usually completely the supports fault DPS is killing them but there is a lot supports can do, especially now in OW2. As a Zen, if you aren't landing your shots on flanking DPS it is a good time to switch off. His damage *is* his counter to being attacked.
@@blaynegreiner9365 well i cant hit my shots when i am already dead by a reaper, or i need to be a full on pro to kill a jumping genji and when i do hit shots on him he just deflects them, sombra too already has killed me in 2 to 3 seconds before i could even react. Yes zen does a lot of damage so he can counter the flankers, but a DPS can really help out if he just was there, flankers will get pressured and panic. I am just saying that DPS can help if they want, or in this particular situation they cant do anything because i am already dead by the flankers. 9:16 Actually not a great ult. Good timing, sure. But aim/positioning was bad. Kiriko's ult stops traveling if the Kitsune runs into an obstacle that Kiriko herself wouldn't be able to walk over (without jumping or wall climbing). In this example, the ult is used at a good time, but it only travels a few feet before being stopped by the robot. It could've been even better if she'd aimed a little to the left or right for it's full potential. Should be noted though, Kitsune rush can be used from atop a high ground position. It will start from your position up high, then fall to the floor and continue it's rollout.
Another thing they could have done to win the game is keeping the robot where they were before moving the last 10 seconds. It would have forced the enemy to come to them and they woudn't have made it to the robot in time. Their team took the robot to the enemy team when they didn't have to.

whats crazy to think about is that guy had to win 50 qp games to get to here with a 0 healing zen. i mean i could get a newer player struggling with discording people or even switching the orb of harmony off the tank, but not using it at all? weird.
Not sure if this post will be noticed or not, but I was wondering if you could make a video discussion the lacking customization in terms of color variation in the mythic Genji skin. I think it would've been more fitting and "mythic" by allowing it to be like swatches or a slider for all 3 parts to change the colors freely. It kinda seems like choice based games that only have 2% of choices matter in the outcome of the game.
3:28 So we're just not going to mention that Zarya apparently does nasal grooming with her studs? Oh and 7:10 Try using it with Moira lobbing orbs. I've seen 4 orbs from the same Moira, during one Kiriko ult (the first one being lobbed just before the ult). Talk about disgusting...
It's weird nobody considered that the Zen might be unaware he can have both orbs up at the same time...Also Zen is a throw pick in low ELO when your team can't focus the discord target and he's the easiest character in the history of video games to kill.
@Gideon Pioneer Still don't get it myself. I was DPS placed into bronze 5, next placement silver 4, then yesterday I went 5-2, the losses were close losses and still had over 30 elims in one of the losses. some of the victories were blow outs but as dps i didn't have as many elims as some of my teammates since i was the only one actually moving the payload and the best performance in that span was 41 elims, most elims, most damage, 9 solo kills. Anyways after the 5-2 I am back bronze 1.
The zen probably got tilted after seeing the hitscan hanzo facetank a ton of damage from the echo one metre above his head and when he died says "healers are trash, no heals" probably spamming the I need healing button while standing in the damage missing his shots at the teamfight. Probably went to match chat with "can you please go easy on us, our healers are brain-dead". Honestly good for zen to pretend the heal orb button doesn't exist
I've found peace with myself climbing out of hell with Soj for DPS. Regarding climbing out of supp, Kiriko is probably the easiest hero to do that with, especially with high survivability, you shouldn't be dying unless you're focusing on OBJ and needing to make a team value play. As a Kiriko main I've learned dinking head shots on Dps and Supps, allowing your brain dead Bronze teammates to focus their elim addiction on them instead of the tank. Seeing those health bars half, it's like Crack to these bots in lower ranks.
I've watched so many bronze players with a higher level of mechanical skill than what I expect of bronze. I don't think mechanical skill is nothing, but it makes me think that playing as a team + game sense is what makes you higher rank. Not pure aim/mechanics.
Looks to me the Zen got sick of dueling the flanking Echo alone and decided if they're going to have to constantly fight for their life they might as well do it on the front line

Moira's stats can be misleading because damage orb exists
@@spicysnowman8886 stop inhaling copium.
I had this happen to me twice XD once with a Zen who spammed "no" every time someone asked for a heal and another time with a Moira who just fed and did 400 healing the entire game >.> luckily Kiriko is a really strong healer and with the ult you can save the fights :D
This series makes my day!
The Kiriko just needs to be more aware at the start of games. Letting that Bastion die so quickly was rough
Especially in a long sight line that is notorious for having snipers at the end of it. Why even risk sticking your head into that tunnel before you know the enemy comp when you can just sit behind cover and heal completely safely.
Love these coach videos. Please keep them coming! :D
Zens like this are the reason you never want to get stuck in bronze. You'll never get out
Tab for score screen and team colors, simple functionalities that we've wanted for YEARS, and they just can't do them.
5:20 you just KNOW that that Zen is blaming everyone but themselves
Actually no he was just afk. I (the kiriko) did stop to type to team as we where talking about how to work around the xen.
Imagine spending 26 bucks on a skin and another 7 bucks on a virtual key chain.
Actually the charm i got with legacy credits :)
zaryas arms at 1:36 are so funny 🤣
I came back from Overwatch since I played like 3 years ago I just came back and got Gold 5 Tank and I can say that this gameplay is so funny, the healing, the Zen that does nothing lol
Zen healing takes the least amount of effort n focus. Like he doesn't even know he can heal
Kiriko: Zen, wtf you're terrible
Zen: I'm top 500 on my other account. The support on this team is trash.
Kiriko: Dude, you're a support
Zen: hurr durrrrr, ez gg.... wait. I can heal shit?
I managed gold every season i played in OG overwatch. Bronze 2 for this season and this has been my experience. Absolutely flabbergasted.
The replay switch of colors always throws me off. I got what you’re saying Sty
Letting bastion die right at the beginning lmao
Can you bring back guess the rank as well? Those videos were so good
The rank system this Season….that ain‘t it
Agree I miss seeing my SR, the change was so stupid.
It takes forever to see a change so it feels like you're playing for no reason.
@@averyterribleperson5292 the lvl too
@@steel5897 that’s why I went back to Apex ranked. Just so much better because u can see your progress and it’s way clearly then whatever this is

lmao it never ceasses to amaze me watching bronze players and they wonder why they are in bronze becauise they literally run around like headless chickens haha
"Big spender" LMAO
I’m just glad that stylosa finally gets to make positive content again. I know this has to be an exciting time for him.
Its very difficult to watch matches when your teammates are red and the enemy is blue. Great video though :)
You have to complain to Blizz, then. It just does this in replay mode based off of who was "defend" and who was "attack" even on push maps
Taking a break from election news to watch a good Ol bronze match is exactly what I need
As someone who has been playing Kiriko non stop and got placed in Silver 5 I can say you don’t need to attack so much. Like it feels like you should but your healing and invulnerability goes so much further. If you can get cheeky headshots that’s good. But spamming non-critical shots when you could be healing is not worth it to me…
There’s just nothing quite like watching a middle-aged British guy laughing at bronze players on a monday morning.
I submitted a game where my support leaves after round 1 during a ranked cart game and we still won 4 vs 5. Was a hard match, hope you can review it.
I had a payload game as well where the support left in round 1 but on the enemy team and we lost 5v4... 👀
I wonder if it was the same game (was on dorado) XD
So glad to see you making these videos again!
plot twist: zen has gold healing anyway :D
5:06 - "How can this be real" - spoken like a person who has never played in Bronze 5 xD
The heal : damage efficiency from the support is like 3:1. When you see a support has the same amount damage as heal, he literally 80% of the time focus on enemy health bars, barely looking at you
Takes one second to set an orb and forget.
Zen: what is harmony?
Honestly its just depressing to know this person spent $19-$26 for Witch Kiriko reinforcing to Blizzard that its Okay to charge up the @$$ for these skins.
Hi I'm the kiriko ^.^ I don't agree with the shop but I loved the skin for my main. To be it was worth it and I the more people get upset that I bought it the more enjoyment I'm getting out of the skin :)
To be fair to the Zen. I play in Gold 1 and I got a pure DPS mercy. Like no healing at all... Ult used for damage only 😂
Mercy ult is crazy dps tho
A good mercy knows how to get 2 pick with that ult at least
But i feel it was better in ow 1
When you don't want to wait for the DPS cue
This game is so fun to play in ranked because people above gold take the game seriously and try they're best and not complaining every second about how you are moving.
I feel your pain.
@@rwentfordable as a support main that goes back as far as 2016, this kind of pain is a usual monday for me. Fridays are my luckiest because i get fantastic teammates that are true teammates, they help you and are supporting you along to victory!
And many people and friends have asked me over the years to "why haven't you changed to DPS or Tank if you like Torbjorn, Bastion, Symmetra, Junker queen and Ashe? "
Well i mostly like support because of the challenge of Having so much pressure on you to keep your team alive, trying to help with the damage and trying to stay alive.
Edit: i am not a god with zen, i would say i am above average of a overwatch console player and i do plan to get a keyboard to practice for the first time so i can get way better, but for now as a Console player i need just a bit of help with Flankers. Literally nothing else, if you kill the flankers for me i will be with you till the end of the match
I feel like you should switch if that is the case
Zen is keeping the orb of harmony to himself
"How can this be real?"
-Sty
Bruv, welcome to comp, where the healers don't heal, the DPS feed, and the Tank never initiates team fights
DPS Zen goes back to the early days of OW1. You just managed to find the perfect example.
Man why are these coaching videos such a joy to watch. I need to send him some clips of me playing cause I’m plat and I feel like I’m a total 5gold player.
You seem to be forgetting that LITTLE CHILDREN play games :)
It's still fun to see your reactions lol, looking forward to more of this.
This background music is also the intro for Make Some Noise by College Humor 😁
I love it when Sty makes those comments @5:10 XD
ngl as a newcomer to overwatch and an up and coming echo main i kind of want you to watch this again and spectate the echo
I still have the replay code if u wish to watch the echo
Is it only PC replays? Loving having this series back!
this is every Zen player in all low ranks bronze-silver- gold . diamond
Another thing they could have done to win the game is keeping the robot where they were before moving the last 10 seconds. It would have forced the enemy to come to them and they woudn't have made it to the robot in time. Their team took the robot to the enemy team when they didn't have to.
this is simply the best thing on RUclips :D
Everybody report that Zen for trolling...
6 years and ppl still don't know how to turn their monitors on
or plug their headphones
A lot of players go into ranked without actually knowing what all their buttons do....
Wait a minute that kiriko is me :O
I do wanna clarify i wasnt blaming the xen for me having to heal it was that i wasnt getting help healing
P.S. ...yeah i bought the bundle i love all things witch in anygame T_T
I would say your only problem is .. the skin
It can just be difficult to just word things properly sometimes, more so online.
Also the skin is cute, if I played more Kiriko I woulda brought it too, spend your money how you want
@@Cybored. Yeah the skins in ow2 are expensive but i like it and in a good enough spot i could buy the skin so i did :)
@@TheSecretSwords do you think i don't like the skin? I do, and I main her. It's just about making a statement that we don't support Blizzard's anti consumer practices. But at the end of the day it's your choice and you shouldn't feel bad about it.
@@TheSecretSwords Don't let people make you feel ashamed or guilty for choosing to support the game by buying a skin you like. For every person dissatisfied with the shop, there is another person that isn't.
I don't understand why Zen is one of the first healers new players can use. The amount of frontline Zen's I see is RIDICULOUS. They almost NEVER heal, and it hurts my soul.
whats crazy to think about is that guy had to win 50 qp games to get to here with a 0 healing zen. i mean i could get a newer player struggling with discording people or even switching the orb of harmony off the tank, but not using it at all? weird.
My God as soon as I saw this I clicked..... I love this series
His Kiriko ult kept getting blocked short
*Kiriko is broken* , change my mind
Love your vids sty!!!
that zen is most players in OW2 now... just doing what ever the hell they want (and most also start getting toxic towards their team)
Best bronze support players
Not sure if this post will be noticed or not, but I was wondering if you could make a video discussion the lacking customization in terms of color variation in the mythic Genji skin. I think it would've been more fitting and "mythic" by allowing it to be like swatches or a slider for all 3 parts to change the colors freely. It kinda seems like choice based games that only have 2% of choices matter in the outcome of the game.
Could you show stats at the end of the games
You can't that's why he pointed out around 1:00 when everyone left spawn that u can't pull stats up.
Zen never putting orb on anyone is the most insane thing I think I’ve ever seen. Like…what?
Bronze is a vortex of suck
Not me clicking on the video to make sure I'm not the Zen in question😬
It's weird nobody considered that the Zen might be unaware he can have both orbs up at the same time...Also Zen is a throw pick in low ELO when your team can't focus the discord target and he's the easiest character in the history of video games to kill.
When are you going to analyze gold/plat? These bronze games are funny, but nobody gets better watching them.
1:03
No they dont, thats why half the people in the game who play healer end up having 2x more damage dealt than heals done
Odd question but does everyone end up in bronze for the first placement?
I got gold 3 dps and silver 1 healer and my duo ranked Plat 5 tank. but I've seen a lot of other people place lower than usual
Honestly good for zen to pretend the heal orb button doesn't exist
this zen reminds me of people who watch to much owl and learn the wrong things
The better solution would have been to get off Zen
And the Zen totally isn't keeping his orb up even when there are obvious opportunities so yea, he wasn't healing.
That zen is all my Zens up too gold still btw…
git gud
