The only downside of the Blocks is you can't do glissando glide above/below the keys across the gap where two units are connected. That's the main reason I got the Seaboard Rise instead.
Thanks for your support!
This may be the coolaste ad I've ever seen. I love the blend between dance and orchestral music. Futuristic for sure!
Roli support/social manager on here doing some WORK. keep it up you guys. Love my Seaboard Rise 2 and use it almost every day.
Love it!
This is something that every musician needs. 🔥
that looks sick! I have three questions.
1. "Advanced customization of keywave response through a firmware upgrade, offering more nuanced MPE control."
Will my existing Seaboard Block be upgraded with a firmware update?
2. Do you have any idea if FL Studio will support MPE in the future?
3. Is there still no official support for Bluetooth in Windows environments? As a Windows user, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to get Bluetooth working, but it's a shame that there's no official support.
Hey, great questions:
1. Yes, the latest Seaboard BLOCK M firmware will be made available to existing Seaboard BLOCKs (timeline TBD.
2. That one is out of our hands unfortunately. Best to check in directly with FL for the latest: www.image-line.com/fl-studio-support/
3. Correct, there is no official support but there are workarounds. Plenty of info on Google - but very much dependent on 3rd party software.
The product website has a picture of Dashboard, but it‘s very confusing. It kind of looks like a slightly different (maybe old) version of the Rise Dashboard. It has the Rise keywave image on top and the sliders and X/Y pad to the right plus a setting for pedal CC. But the header says it‘s the Blocks page and the curve displays don‘t have those dots to adjust endpoints. That‘s just a placeholder image, right?
Looking at the image I am now worried that upgrading my Blocks to the new firmware will take away the Glide Lock and Glide Rate feature? It’s pretty nice and I am very much missing it on the Rise2. Can you confirm that these two settings will be still available with the new firmware?
On Windows I'm inclined to use a WIDI dongle to bypass the entire Window Bluetooth side of things and have it show up like a normal USB MIDI device.
@@RealGrover Eagle eye there. It's been updated. 😊
@@WeAreROLI so the difference between the 'old' Seabord Block is mainly the loss of 2 DNA connectors??
i own 2 Seabord Blocks, still want to add one. perhaps a Seabord Block M. (and own 2 Lightpad M Blocks, for me necessary for many reasons, MPE or non-MPE.)
and i see that the Seabord Block M firmware comes also for the old ones... there is no difference in the surface? or response? or?
aha, i see no difference, technically, besides the midi out, bluetooth standard to 5.0, and the loss of 2 DNA connectors......
This song Is a Banger. Anytime this ads pops up, I don't skip it 🔥
Now where's the Spotify link? 🔎
Coming soon!
Hi Roli. Congrats to you on this launch. I am hoping you already have plans on making a 61 key Seaboard Rise. Am patiently waiting on that one since you released the 49 key Seaboard Rise 2. Don't let us down. Thank you.
Thanks for your feedback. We will share with the Product team.
I’m so confused…I thought this already existed
The original has been out of production for ages. Looks like they fiddled with the shape of the surface a bit on the new version, and added a MIDI output port.
Your paying for the “M”
Hey there, Seaboard BLOCK was discontinued some time ago but we have decided to bring it back to due to overwhelming demand from our community. We are proud to bring it back in this new form that is more robust and functional.
@@WeAreROLI what about the lightpad block :
@@giuk835 We'd love to bring all our former products back and provide you with new expressive technologies, too. We need to do it in a viable way. We started with RISE 2 and progressed our commitment with Seaboard Block M. The future is looking bright for even more new products and releases.
im SO HAPPY to see it again. Number one thing missing is iOS support
The Noise app.
We are thrilled to bring Seaboard BLOCK back with the new M version. You can use BLOCK M with most mobile music apps as a MIDI controller while taking things to the next level with MPE-enabled ones.
@@WeAreROLI What is absolutely needed is a Dashboard app for iOS. Sometimes you need to change settings when sitting in the hotel room with a Seaboard Block and an iPad.
I have created a nifty little foot script for Lightpad to have access to most of the settings dashboard provides for Seaboard Block, but that's not for everyone. Also, because you didn't put DNA connectors on the RISE2, I still need Dashboard for that.
@@WeAreROLI Does this mean you do not currently plan to enhance and relaunch the Roli Noise app?
Are you not releasing a light block drum pad, or a looper pad like the last version, those things are something i was looking forward to
Was hoping so much that it was going to be another light pad
Light Blocks in a little bigger as the original would be a great product.
Unfortunately, we don't have any plans to release a new Lightpad in the near future. You can use Seaboard BLOCK to program drums via ROLI Studio Drums 🦾
Are there any plans to make an 88 version of the rise?
Not at the moment.
So excited!
“Infinite Expression. Anywhere.”
Unless you’re in Aus, don’t ship there :(
Was super hyped for this release, stayed up for the release and was really disappointed at 3am local time that it’s not gonna ship to Australia.
Really cool product, hopefully we’ll see it here someday
Another sad Aussie here, I'm possibly interested in this for my kids, was wondering about going through a US based reshipper. A hassle I know and not sure about warranty but fk me is it that hard to ship to Australia right? If you use a UK reshipper you'd be paying Vat on the purchase price, I haven't worked out the best way to get around this. Le sigh..
Hey Martin, we are working really hard to catch-up with demand in our current regions so we can expand to other regions. Australia will certainly be one of the first when we do.
Yeah, same. I was waiting for one of these to re-release for ages. (I tried to get by with a linnstrument, but I didn't click with it.) Finally see it pop up, put it in the cart to preorder then saw the "We only ship hardware products to the USA, Canada, UK and Europe." :(
@@flotsamstan Thanks for your patience and support. We hope to have good news for you soon.
Looks like it’s sold out! Any way we can still get in on the Black Friday sale price?
Your real problem is not teaming with plugins makers like swam nor releasing premapped parameters for many plugins. Many musicians are not very good with midi mapping and all sorts of programming therefore won't risk buying roli.
Another issue is that you have removed the pitchbend. I know the whole board can bends but still having the option for a specific playing style is essential. Maybe add the option to use the x/y pad for pitchbend + modwheel with the possibility to hold the y values when released?
We have so many midi tools these days but linking any to real usage is tricky.
You guys need to release something for people who likes to use normal keyboards with extra flexibility or even release a roli like touch strip that can be attached to any existing keyboard.
I really loved my rise, blocks and lumi but I know you guys can do much more!
I've been an excited supporter of Roli ever since the first Rise. But my Seaboard Block is the one that travels with me on tour. I'd love to see some of these newer features made available to the older seaboard block? Especially the patch change shortcut and hardware MIDI out via the USB Port? Any firmware upgrade scheduled for long time customers?
Yes, the firmware update will be made available to existing users!
@@WeAreROLI..excited for the release! When does it drop?
It’s impossible to beat the original ad that was on another level 😎😎😎
That sure was a great track and video!
Really super.. i have seen your youtube channel just now and subscribed... really i am very happy that this is super youtube channel..
Hello, is it possible to combine a v1 Seaboard BLOCK with this new version please? Thanks :)
Yes absolutely, you can connect and play them together using the DNA Connectors 👍
I’m strongly considering getting the Rise 2-especially since it can ship right away-but have some questions regarding the difference between the Rise 2 vs getting two seablock Ms
1. Is the keybed technology on the new Seablocks better/more advanced than on the Rise 2?
2. What drives the substantial cost difference between the Rise 2 ($1399) and two seablock Ms ($700-$800 iirc)?
the Rise has a bigger surface, bigger 'keywaves'. and it is 49 keys in one row. and touch controllers (XY pad, and 3 sliders). with a Lightpad M Block you can do the touch controllers, even in a better way. but if the Lightpad M Blocks will return?
Hey there, keybed technology is largely the same between the devices. On RISE 2, you get 49 continuous keys, the Keywave 2 surface with precision frets, on-device control via the UI panel, and Equator2 included. It is also packaged in a superior chassis to provide the ultimate expressive experience.
Can you make a version with a longer keyboard for sure? Definitely need both versions, one short as this one, and a full-length version because yes there’s no way you can slide between blocks. But Amazong products, hope can get one soon
If you'd like to glide for long stretches, we recommend RISE 2. @DrMix did some glides on Seaboard BLOCK M. Check it out.
I ordered two, see you in March.
Whoop!
any chance Roli will recommit to iOS & make its Apps/Sound Libraries like Noise proper AUv3 Plug-ins? Equator for iOS even? for iPhone, not just iPad.
We would love to bring you all the tools you need on all platforms. We just need to take it one step at a time. Right now, we are not working on a new NOISE app but hope to provide innovative new products in the future. 🦾
Just got a newsletter some minutes ago, but the preorder page won't let me order and says 'out of stock' - is it really?
Not at all, please try again later. We will rectify the issue ASAP
@@WeAreROLI Thanks, worked now.
THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU !!!!
PLEASUUUUUURE!
Is there a difference between this and the regular one besides the extra port??
You can see all the details in the video description above ☝
Will bluetooth connection be supported on Windows? Would really need it
Windows needs to support MIDI over Bluetooth for that to work.
I am buying it as a new years gift for myself. Wondering whom can I reach out as a fairly new artist for some collaboration/promotion? thanks
Hey you can reach out to our artist relations team. Details on our website.
@@WeAreROLI Will do :)
Hmmmm... Well...
I suppose the main difference between this version and v1 is the new keywave... That being said, in my memory, blocks had slightly narrower keys than Rise... ( I didn't have both models at the same time to compare... ), I may be wrong, but anyway what about this one ?
Also any chance for a dedicated hardcase for Rise2 ? ( please think about us, touring musicians... :) )
Thanks for your suggestion! We will pass it on to the product team. The RISE 2 and Seaboard BLOCK has the same shape keys. There has been no update to the keywave for BLOCK M. The changes are summarised in the description above.
Anyone knows who the guy in the video is? Driving me crazy that I think he is famous but cannot remember his name.
🖖
😄 , he's famous.
Does it work with old seaboard block too?
Yes, it does!
What’s the song called?
Is it compatible with the older one?
Yes! You can connect an old Seaboard BLOCK with LUMI or the new M version.
Oh, would the lightpad M work with this gear and can this also connect with Lumi Keys? thanks
Yes absolutely! You can connect a Lightpad M, LUMI Keys or another Seaboard BLOCK using the DNA Connectors 🙌
@@WeAreROLI This is very good. I do hope to see lightpad m back in store though. Any rough ideas about that?
@@notaspectator Right now, we are not working on a re-release of Lightpad. We hope we build on the introduction of RISE 2 and Seaboard BLOCK M with more expressive technologies soon.
😮 so cool! Production on another level! Honestly I thought the name would be BLOCK II or BLOCK RISE 2... Any chance for a give away?😏😁
Thanks for the love😍 Keep an eye on socials or subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know about any promotions or giveaways.
Done and Done! @@WeAreROLI
what the difference to old seabord block?
Hey, there are a number of great updates and upgrades:
Seaboard BLOCK M differs from the original Seaboard in that you can now control other hardware instruments with a new MIDI out. There is also advanced customization of keywave response through updated firmware, offering more nuanced MPE control.
Seaboard BLOCK M has a more natural, intuitive playing experience with an improved velocity response curve, and durable design that has been refined to withstand the rigors of touring and extended studio sessions.
Go computer-free with mode-switching on your BLOCK M, so you can change between Single Channel, or MPE and other modes once activated in Dashboard.
Switch between your saved Equator2 or ROLI Studio presets by holding the side button and pressing the octave left and right buttons. Select your own ROLI Soundpacks to get you started with MPE.
And it has only two DNA connectors. The two at the top side of the old Seaboard Blocks are missing. Weird choice, that‘s where I use to connect my Lightpads…
For a brief moment I thought it would have a Sustain pedal input, but that was probably wishful thinking. It‘s a MIDI output. Missed opportunity.
Is it possible to perform glide action across two connected seaboard?
You can, but there is a lip on the edges of the BLOCK.
With the original Blocks a new note will be triggered when crossing from one to the other. I don't think that has changed, ROLI would certainly make a fuzz about it.
Check out the video on @Dr Mix's channel where he does exactly that.
Dr Mix does it and the note retriggers when he crosses from one device to the other. To be clear, I don’t think it’s a biggie and it wouldn‘t be trivial to avoid.
what's the first song?
Did you guys get rid of PayPal as a payment option?
Unfortunately, we no longer use Paypal as a payment option.
Bummer I used it when I bought the lumi, I have the payment plan no interest thing with them
We'll give the Ecomm team the update. Thanks for your support!
Very cool!!!
What’s the price ?
Hey there, it depends on the country you're in. Head over to the product page to see the price in your region: roli.com/products/blocks/seaboard-block-m 👍
When can I buy
You can buy now over at roli.com/products/blocks/seaboard-block-m 🙌
Got it used for 200$, great device
I have 2 of these from the 1st generation. The rubber has come away on both, and now not all the keys work. They are not worth the money unless they’ve improved the build quality. I’m very disappointed.
Hi Martin, so sorry you have had an issue with your BLOCKS. Please reach out to Support for options. We have re-engineered Seaboard BLOCK M to be more robust and durable 💪💪💪
🔥🔥🔥
I want it. So badly. But I don’t have the money for 2, let alone one.
Oh baby 🤖
baby baby
This is not wrong. 😉
Noooooo ! They went out of stock so fast
Arrgh ! Guess I ´ll have to wait…
Hey! This has been updated so it should be available now :)
I refresh and I immediately ordered it !
See you in March right ?
Congrats you made the same thing again instead of just maintaining production.
As with many other music start-ups, and companies in general, we struggled through the pandemic. We are proud to reintroduce Seaboard BLOCK with the updated M version at the same price! You can read about all the differences in the video description or on our website. 🦾
please deliver to brazil 🥺🥺🥺
you got 4 app 3 of which haven’t been updated in 5 years.
We are focussing on our desktop experiences for Creators via ROLI Studio, Equator2 etc and learner experience via the LUMI App.
You also did a bait and switch with the free learning experience for the kickstart supporters; that lasted 6 months. And you used those kickstart funds to do a better keyboard within a year of funding.
@@alejandroruiz1486 We aim to improve all our products over time. Kickstarter was a pilot project to establish demand. It proved tremendously popular, and we decided to put LUMI into production. Naturally, we took the opportunity to make slight improvements to the device. If you have an issue with your Kickstarter unit and need help, don't hesitate to contact Support for options. We now offer a two-year warranty too.
I wonder what you’re not going to support anymore on your new “focusing “ quest
Show it with a hardware…
Are you going to take our money and abandon us again?
And what's new here?? I own a seaboard block and ses no difference
