You and Into The Blue are my go-to guys for reviews. Thorough without being tedious. Well done.

Went up in one on a tandom skydive, first time ever saw one & my first thought was holy shit, glad I have a parachute haha. Was just a box with wings in my head. Took off in 0.6 secs like a rocket tho & so glad I got to jump from it, great experience standing on the ramp looking out at clouds below. Only disconcerting bit was the instructors looking for a lost chute before we jumped from a cutaway that same morning 😂

Really glad to see you mention it climbs like a rocket - they’ve simulated that really well in the sim

One of these above us at the Duxford Summer show last weekend with the Red Devils on board. Well done MSFS for getting this a/c available for us all to try at exactly the right time...

I'm so impressed with this, my favourite in the sim. All the fun of the Islander but a bit busier.
I've purchased the other Shorts aircraft since, hope they are as good :)

Wow great video, they fly those during the week at my gliding airfield for army parachuting

Neat plane and great video. At 11:40 you mention a noise when you are moving around and I have that happen to me as well. I use my right mouse button to look around the cockpit and on some planes it tries to activate the spoiler arm function (787 planes) and on the PMDG 737 it does something with the throttles. I have searched and searched to find what assignment is causing this without success and I am just writing it off to a bug. Not sure if it is something with the planes or MSFS2020. At any rate, happy flying!

Love the Skyvan, its fun to fly and amazing in economy gameplay apps.

I refuse to buy this in the sale. I will pay full price for it. It deserves every single penny of the $15. 😊

If I understand correctly, you had the engine start mode switch in the wrong postion for startup. On the checklist it says "NORMAL - START" but if you read the tip at the bottom it says it wants you to push it into "GROUND" and check that lights up on the warning panel. Also I think their checklist is back to front about when the NTS caption should illuminate. I also think the start regulator button is modelled to do absolutely nothing. The fact that I had opposite selection on the start position bar and got exactly the same results as you makes me think the systems modelling on this plane is completely bollocksed.
Also the throttle changes the airspeed almost instantly when flying. You can almost watch the needle flutter in unison as you wang the throttle up and down. Maybe it's because the airframe is so draggy, but it seems very odd. Still it looks amazing from the outside. As my son said "You have to get it to honour the chonk."

It handles quite well (considering it’s a shed) with the Boeing Yoke. Can imagine an Xbox controller doesn’t quite give that more tactile feedback to counteract the pitch.
I’m waiting for the classic liveries to continue more Hebridean ops in BEA Scottish colours 🤓

    What a weird plane

This is truly one of the worst handling add ons i have ever bought for the sim...i dont understand the hype around it. I know you mentioned it but the pitch sensitivity is off the scale. Just want to put another view out there for people....

Can’t say I’ve ever flown one, so can’t really comment… but it is basically a flying barn. Handles as I’d come to expect in a sim setting. I’ve found it really rewarding to hand-fly

This plane looks such a work horse. I like it. I'm a fan of goofy looking planes. For instance the PL-12 Airtruk. It was in mad max 3 if anyone remembers. I actually thought it was a fictional plane but nope. Totally real.

Regarding noise restrictions: Busting those would probably be the least of your worries after dropping off a bunch of skydivers in the middle of Heathrow TMA’s class A airspace. 😉
Seriously though, great review! Looks like I might need to get this one eventually.

That breaking glass sound seems to be some sort of bug where the internal sounds go off when you change the camera position then comes back on with a relay crack when you reset to the default camera.
