When Navi Mumbai development began more than 15 years back shouldn't the authorities have looked at road, train & metro network & connectivity? They did not . And now when situation is as good as at crisis point they are trying to do patchwork solutions which also will take another decade or more for completion. These areas are occupied by common people who are low on the priority list of Govts. The undersea twin tunnels in South Mumbai are nearing completion while Thane metro is being built for more than 10 years now and is no where near even 1st phase completion

I am from Kalwa as of date 15 March , 2024 the updates are : *Digha station is completed and operational for trans-harbour line. *The process of connecting the digha and kalwa is going. *No reason project are running late by one year.

They have already built two new platforms in Kalwa, Mumbra and Diva for trains which will run on this new line. So, i don't think there will be any management problems on these stations.
@@greenrico10 Currently there are six lines till Kalyan. 2 slow, 2 fast and two for the trains going Konkan, western line and those originating from LTT. Older slow line is now the new fast line. That’s why fast trains and Mumbai, Dadar originating Express go from Kalwa, Mumbra now.
There will be a major management issue here. CST to kalyan has 6 tracks. 4 for local trains & 2 for express trains. Now local trains will have to cross the express lane to reach Airoli which will cause a lot of rail congestion & delays.

Cidco using neo metro in navi mumbai because navi mumbai is already a planned city and its road infrastructure plus bus transportation is already been in a good condition. Tough some alternate transit system is required and today navi mumbai's population is not so much or over crowded like mumbai.
To save money as metro are suited for dense population not some retired nana nanis wanting releif from city pollution and hassle and living in sparse neighbourhood.
I think that Government should focus more on building transportation services and vehicles like buses trains etc and should limit the high number of lane s road or highways, because it holds a major chunk of pollution and improved transportation and 15 minutes city types of initiatives can reduce the amount of pollution and also build cities where every necessary things should be closer to people who live there so that they will use cars lesser.

Like currently we have Kurla- Thane, Or Thane-Kalyan etc. More trains should be Kalyan-Karjat, CST- kurla etc etc. This really helps in lesser crowds, like people between that band only take those trains and those who wants to travle long can change it. I think people will prefer less crowd with this little inconvenience of changing trains. Earlier longer route trains made sense with economic perspective, but with growing population railway will always find ticket takers at all stations.
Bro it's a simple logic. If there are many local trains ending at random locations which will again go back reverse, it will affect all the trains coming behind it. Causing all the trains to delay.
Simple solution for complex problem. If government comes up with error free signal system most of the problems of train delays and cancellations can be solved. Just increase the number of trains and reduce the time between two trains. If trains starts running on time commuters will get big relief.

You didn't explain the necessity of the elevated section between Kalwa and Digha when already the trans harbour rail line is connected to Thane station.. why not let trains coming from Belapur/ Vashi run 'through' Thane station instead of terminating there.. Similarly trains coming From CSMT can be routed to Vashi / Belapur by again making Thane a through station instead of a terminal..

There is already a track which exists that connects to the fast line which is used mostly for goods trains. Railways could use this for running trains as an intermediate measure but we all know they won't do shit.
Now parsik tunnel is dedicated to mail/Express and freight. And it will miss out commuters from kalwa and mumbra. Also that line is single line not used by local trains.

Even the high-speed coastal road network will complete at super speed till the point its convenient to people living in these affluent areas. Post that the project will be at snail's pace and at best will be a trimmed down version of what exists in the 1st part. .
I think you are not ware 6:19 -> The 5th & 6th Lines are extended from Thane - Diva on 19th Feb 2022 by Hon. PM Modi, and now all six line services are available from CSMT to Kalyan Jn.

Don't know why the hell railways made 2 extra platforms at kalwa. That could be used for bringing fast locals at those point for every 15 minutes. It could even help mumbra and diva commuters as well. This will be also helpful in reducing travel time and cost. Don't know but I feel railway guys are sleeping.
This project should complete fast it will help many Dombivli Kalyan and beyond ppl. Train boarding from Thane during peak hour is horrible.

Karjat trains are far less that what crowd is demanding
Once Kalyan station is revamped, we can expect more trains for Karjat, Kasara from there. Currently the platforms are not enough to originate any.

Don't know why the hell railways made 2 extra platforms at kalwa. That could be used for bringing fast locals at those point for every 15 minutes. It could even help mumbra and diva commuters as well. This will be also helpful in reducing travel time and cost. Don't know but I feel railway guys are sleeping.
