Sir, you saved my life. Multitrack videos are widely used on streaming platforms like Netflix or even DirectTV. It is pretty normal finding normal tracks, audio description tracks, another languages, etc.
Thanks for this. I'm an experienced editor - but rarely have to export multitrack audio, so this was super helpful. Advice to anyone watching this - watch every step.
I dont understand these multitrack lines. Mutlitrack is supposed to be working like you can switch between audo tracks while u are playing the video dont you? But for me in adobe multitrack is just multi channel instead of actual multitracks. :/ Which is kinda sucks because personally I want to create a video with two separate audo tracks. One for and english dub and one for another language. But after I create the project and export it, I can only hear 1 track. And I'm unable to switch between them. Adobe simply not creating the multiple tracks. Even if I setted the sequence up to multichannel and everything. Also if i do it with quicktime I have the 2 separated tracks, but the video is stuck and adobe created a 24GB file out of a 45 min episode which is normally 1.6 GB lol. :D So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here and no freakin video can be found of an actual multitrack video creation. :/ Which sucks. :/
Mov file sizes are too big for me to keep in my hard drive so after I export the file which turns out to be 2gb 50 sec clip I use Hand brake to compress it with proper settings so the clip is back to 100mb, 16k bitrate with two audio tracks. You have to select each track separately in hand brake (Audio panel).
This is exactly what I have been looking for. I'm pretty new to editing and I've wanted to be making videos as a creative outlet and unfortunately when it came to recording I made the mistake of having 1 massive video file with 3 audio tracks and couldn't find a nice way to split that file up into smaller chunks to work with which basically meant I hit a brick wall and couldn't feasibly edit at all. This video is a life saver. Subbed. Cheers.
Thank you so much for this video mate, I've scoured youtube for a simple intructional on this and you're the first to lay it out properly. Cheers Also, why the hell does Premiere have such an idiotic and counter intuitive interface?
Here's my experience: I have 3 audio tracks in obs. 1 is set to both mic and record what you hear (the stream audio) track 2 is set to mic only track 3 is set to record what you hear only. it saves as an mp4. When i open the file in mpc - it shows all 3 audio tracks. when I change them..they all function exactly as intended. When I view the vod on twitch..it functions..as intended. When i import the file into Premier pro, it sets it up as only having 1 audio track. When i edit the audio channels, it constantly mixes track 2 and 3 into one track. There is no way for me to edit the video.
I've been recording the same way and premiere doesn't seem to understand that there's multiple tracks, but in VLC it shows and works just how I would expect
same here. I'm a Davinci Resolve user, but have been needing to use Premiere Pro for work, and I have ZERO issues with multitrack in Resolve, but cannot for the life of me get it to work on Premiere.
hello great tutorial !! I only have one question. I installed it on a Mac. Unfortunately I cannot select a Daniel2 H.264 there. Isn't it possible for the Mac to use mp4 multitrack audio? Thanks for the help!
Are there any SMALL vido codecs that support split tracks? I want to send a small reference file with split audio but can only do it with high res vid. Thanks!
If I already edited a video and i'm in the advanced process but I didn't chose the multichannel option in the beginning, is it a way to make it fit ? it is an itw and I have two separate audio files (that are also separated from the vide files). We see only the person answering on screen and this is already synchronised with the audio answers. I still have ot finish to synchronised the questions with the whole thing, but the question is how to export a project where I could choose when to active or to mute pist 1 and 2
But how do I replace an audio track for a clip in the timeline, that has 2 audio tracks in it. But, when I dragged it to a timeline it only imported 1 (as intended), but it was the wrong track.... So in essence, how would one replace clips audio track 1 to the same clips audio track 2 ? amm.. asking f or a friend... lol
not sure what i am doing wrong but when im within adobe i can hear all the audio tracks just fine but when i export i can only hear 1 audio track. Appreciate the help
That's likely because the video player you're using to playback the video is playing Track 1 of your multi-track video. What wasn't explained in this video is that it's really helpful to assign ALL audio tracks to the Master Tracks 1-2. If you do this, then when you watch the video back in VLC Media Player, for instance, you will here all of your Audio Tracks together. At 4:15, I would recommend the following settings: Audio Track 1 = Master Tracks 1-2 & 3-4 Audio Track 2 = Master Tracks 1-2 & 5-6 Audio Track 3 = Master Tracks 1-2 & 7-8
Hi guys can somebody explain to me how i can export all channels to 1 stereo track. This video explains how you can make a multiple channel seq but what if i want to export to one track left and right audio? when exporting it only exports channel 1 and 2. If a put it on a stereo sequence the audio is not stereo bot left and right move the same on the audio meter. Is there a way to make a audio mixdown like in Avid
Hey there. I'm trying to create an MXF with 8 channels on Premiere Pro as requested by the client. However, I can't create it in Stereo, it only allows me to output in Mono. I've tried every possible way and I can't make it happen. Anyone out there has the key to finding the solution? Thanks, D.

You definitely explained this better than Adobe. I have been using Premiere for nearly 10 years and just now learned this.

Life saver. Looked around at 5 videos to set this up and none worked but this one, perfectly! Thank you.
You are an absolute legend for this one. Even in 2023 this video still is the best at explaining how to do multitrack sequences and rendering
Thanks so much for this, as a Trakov Player and a Broadcast Technician I appreciate you

Facts this is the only video that actually provided the answer to what I was trying to do. haha. Thanks so much for your time making this. cheers.

This was a very well done video, but I'm stuck on the output assignments step.
The button you clicked was greyed out for me. How do I fix this?
I fixed it.
For anyone with the same problem, get any version of premiere released after jan 2020
