    That technique of EQing and bringing down specific frequencies in the music (so they don’t compete with dialogue) is called Notch EQing. A great technique and one that I don’t see used often enough. Combined with ducking, it will help ensure dialogue is the most prominent thing in the mix. Nice video with some great tips.

    Wow, Kelsey! Thanks to your tips, my audio is so clear that I might finally hear my cat judging me in the background. Also, I didn't know I needed a mic as close as Billy Eilish until now-it's time to whisper my way to podcast stardom!

    I like to add subtle reduction in the in 90 to 150 Hz range (good for my voice) on the background music so it doesn't crowd my voice even when ducking 😊

    Thank you as always. I'm about to cut footage I shot 20 years ago on my XL1 in SD that I managed to record on a Sennheiser shotgun with a friend on boom so I'm looking forward to using all sorts of techniques you talk about to enhance the sound and video. I appreciate how you used a soft fuzzy ((sound)) for the video sync loss glitches so that they weren't jarring!

    Pre-selection always beats post production.
    First tip we gave voice actors/guests is: smile while creating an audio. It really doesn't work well with the podcasts of today. Too many "Joker faces".
    The second one was speak with your diaphragm.
    The third one was not going drunk to a gig, but we never really managed to enforce that one.
    Back to the topic of the video: all of the settings that you mentioned, they really need to be exported into an external file. (See advice #3 above for more details)

    👍 Audio in Premiere Pro is a nightmare. DaVinci is much easier, but not as technical. Premiere is forcing me to learn video production on a whole other level. This helped a lot.
    The TUBE MODELED-COMPRESSOR 5:40 and the PARAMETRIC EQUALIZER 11:19 will help me finish this RUclips short that has a Friday deadline. Looks like I will be early.

    Surprised you didn't include adding "mastering" and from within that "subtle clarity." Learned this from you in a previous video and it is remarkable how just doing that adds sparkle to audio. Terriffic video as always.

      Oh man, that is not really something I have tried to do, but there are som AI apps that can change voices. But my recommendation would be to not alter a voice too much that it is not authentic.

    For all the additions, enhancements and features… how come no NLE has figured out a way to automatically avoid/remove click-pops in dialogue editing? This has plagued editors since the earliest talkies. Why not even a 3rd party audio plugin? Hello?
    Anyway…
    Thx PG

    • @PremiereGal
      @PremiereGal  6 месяцев назад +1

      I think this is where most people will right click and edit audio in Audition which has a built in click and pop remover...but I agree they should also add it to Pr's essential sound panel already! 😅

  • @ReidVV
    @ReidVV 6 месяцев назад

    Sometimes, even after using the Essential Sound panel to balanced low tone or high tone voice, the audio is sometimes still over modulating. Also, turning on and using the Level slider is often hit and miss, especially when dialogue is longer and monitoring every syllable for proper level is difficult. What do you think about using the Audio Track Mixer to add a Hard Limiter filter (under Amplitude and Compression) at say max volume -3db on the voice track, or even on the full mix output to prevent over modulation spikes?

    • @PremiereGal
      @PremiereGal  6 месяцев назад
