  • This rewind Wednesday we take a dive into the General Motors 6.0L Vortec motor that has been around since 2001. It's always fun to go back in time and take a look at the cars and trucks that are rarely talked about anyjmore. The demo was a 2008 GMC 2500HD with the 6.0 vortec motor! Thanks for stopping by. #gmc #rewindwednesday

2003 GMC Yukon Denali, the LQ4. Bought it, can’t remember exactly.. 2012? Previous owner bought it brand new and his teenage daughter learned to drive with it. Currently 197k miles, exactly 0 engine issues, reg maintenance and only replacing worn components that can’t outlive the motor over the years. My dad is old school muscle car guy, and he’s impressed with the tuning of the engine.
Flooring it pushes you back in your seat, and its my daily driver not even joking. Love that thing.
Plan to add a sloppy stage 2 cam kit, TBSS intake and stall converter, but hesitant.. afraid to mess with perfection.

Mine has 300k and , I was told lifters were bad on it and some guy from Mexico told me that was a lie , he change the exhaust bolts in both sides , exhaust manifold bolts brake and cause a tik tik tik noise. Once he change those bolts my engine sound so healthy and run a lot more efficient. No more noise from the engine , strong engine, extremely reliable.

I change the oil every 4/5000 miles I have done the spark plugs and wires three times and the coil packs once . This truck has the six speed automatic transmission with the trailer hauling package so you can really pull a lot with it. I never envisioned that I would still be driving it and still doing the same stuff with it 12 years after I bought it. I feel like this truck has many more years left.

My 05 just hit 100K averages 8-10 MPG Towing 10,000-20,000 I never thought it would hold up. I was going to get a Duramax but other "wrench heads" I know said that you Under estimated that 6.0 😀 I will do research to find out how to configure a Towing upgrade( cam or something) I plan on keeping this 05 till it is unroad worthy. I’m about to buy one tomorrow if it checks out. $7700.00 + $650 for Ttl. I asked for the vin number and before he gave it to me he said that the truck actually has a new cluster. Said the guy that does his online publishing didn’t know. Listed at 115k miles, but actually 154k miles on Carfax. It was a one owner fleet truck, but it is clean and was serviced regularly. Hopefully I’m not getting screwed. He has a lot of cars, but I wanted to see the hour meter🤞

I have a 2006 2500HD with the 6.0L along with 4.10 gears and 33” tires and while it’s not the fastest truck on the road I love my truck. It sounds aggressive, has plenty of power for what I need. My biggest complaint I have is fuel mileage, 10-11 mpg is t all that great. But I kind of expected poor MPG when I bought it. It is a crew cab, long bed 2500 so it’s not exactly a light truck.

I run a 2005 6.0 and a 2005 Ford 5.4 SD for my lawn and home care business. The truck has more rust than I would like but the engine/trans are great. Our day to day load is a 3500lb mowing trailer and we rent a 6,000lb wood chipper several times a year. No crazy weights to move but we work in the mountains and deal with steep grades on almost the daily. The 6.0 is better than the 5.4 but both dinosaurs get it done. Our trucks don’t see thruway speeds, typically 45-55mph zones max. In these conditions we have no need for a diesel, we have only wants for a newer gasser
