This is 74-year-old Philip Snider, and he has absolutely no idea that he is being recorded. After his doting wife of 54 years vanished without a trace, the police found themselves at a dead end. But that changes when they send an undercover detective to the tranquil city of Hartville, Ohio. By random chance, the detectives will uncover much more than they could have ever imagined.

I’m going to politely disagree with people who think the undercover cop wasn’t good at her job. I have done a lot of volunteer work with older folk & all they want is someone to talk to. She spent 2 MONTHS being a part of the breakfast / lunch get together. Many walks alone with him where she probably vented about her “sick mother”, she essentially LOVE-BOMBED him but without the tactile part. You can still make someone feel like they’re being heard & you value them above other people because you have life stories that provide sympathy. She was able to be open & tell her “truth” because he understood her. Which made him feel like he had power, control over his life again, that he was able to fool people. He was finally FREE & that meant he could strike up a friendship with a woman & not be frowned upon by anyone. He was able to have his whole day to go about HIS business & not trapped my the confines of his elderly & infirm wife.
It is crazy in so many ways as (by the sounds of it) she wasn’t long for this world, but to him every day was just another one he had to ENDURE. He wanted his life back while he was still active & mobile enough to have some fun.
They did say the officer is now retired, so showing her face doesn’t matter ad I assume she would also had to testify in court, that would have been a HUE BLOW TO HIS EGO!!

It doesn’t matter to me if someone disagrees as they’re very welcome to! The sad thing really is that her family never go to have a proper send off or a place to visit to remember her. Because then there is no chance to find her. There's no chance to know the truth or prove he murdered her.
Because he white man
Because he won’t have gotten much prison time, which wouldn’t have been Justice for his wife…he murdered his wife first, which is much worse and a much longer prison sentence and they were trying to get Justice for his wife of 54 years.
Cause there was no body! Yet
He would NEVER confess with his son in the room. That was just a bad move. They should have tried REALLY hard to get him alone during interrogation
In their defense, he probably was on the edge of shutting down anyway at that point and if they told him no, we won't bring in Kenny, he might have shut down then and there. To borrow a line from my parents while growing up, "A difference that makes no difference isn't really a difference."
That ad segway was wild 💀
No, I've never married and I'm so glad I didn't. I've had a great life and lots of friends but no husband. Only my great son and my pets who love me unconditionally...
Man that woman was so obtuse in her questioning- lucky for her the old man wasn’t very bright.
All I could think was “gee lady you sound just like the interrogators, not a woman wanting to know a good plan for offing her own mother.” I half expected him to end the conversation by saying “I’m done talking to you,” like he did the officers.
we didn't get to hear the hours and hours of chit chat that took place every day in the cafes, the park, and through daily text conversations. This detective found the best way to approach him about it and it worked. Remember too that we only heard excerpts from the conversation in the cafe.
@elisabethwarren3983 Great point. You said exactly everything I was thinking at that point 😂😂
I agree. The suspect's acute observation of the situation led to his arrest.
@@elisabethwarren3983 straight up sounded like an interrogation.
She's lucky that he was old and clueless. 🤦🏻♀️
Brah, you couldn't tell that was an undercover cop? Seriously? And you thought she was into you? Did Phil have dementia? Now the dude has to rot in that cell every night feeling like a dumbass.
I got the vibe that he might have dementia
GOOD!
@dan ielleburke87 he wouldn't have been able to pull all that off and hide it if he had.
This guy saying "its just a scenario" reminds me that scene in Its Always Sunny where Dennis is like "But she's not gonna say no, because of the implications"
Love that episode.
man i want to hear more of that detective saying "well here's the thijng with human decomposation" lol
What a shameless sponsor plug
Took so long to double tap over lol
"You smell good."
"Thanks, I'm wearing a fragrance: 'Flame, by Burger King'
😂
Have you ever heard this one.
You smell good what do you have on.
I have a hard on but I didn’t know you could smell it.
🔥
Flamé
@@jenmae21 Parfum de Roi Du Hamburger! :) -Like your jewelry btw.
Undercover cops are always so damn obvious. This old man lacks discernment
He speaks loud and clear for him to be in public. Better than most interrogations that I watch!! 😂😂😂
This was a good one ... the amount of patience everyone had was incredible.
I remember watching this before. He put on a good show for his son and then he went on to brag about what he did right before he got caught. He’s a psychopath.
The son sits listening, but you can see he knows what his father has done
The way cops CAN'T erase their signature "okay" even when under cover lmao.
When a cop says “ok”, it means he’s thinking of 100 different ways of putting you behind bars 💀
Yesss didn’t realize it till u said it smh 😂
"It's great to meet you, I'm totally not an undercover cop"
😂😂🤣
The clasp on my bag ? totally *not* a hidden camera, but please speak directly into the button on my blouse.
😅😅
