  • I never knew how much I wanted a Sprinter van until I saw them being lifted and completely transformed. Brayden is a true professional in the industry, and he knows exactly what he’s doing when it comes to Sprinter vans. As soon as he told me he traded his 84” EPIQ for his ICON box, I knew he was going to be down to Earth, and value oriented. I wasn’t let down! His setup is growing fast, and he has spent the money where it matters. Value oriented at its finest! Brayden, thank you SO much for inviting me out. @@pedaltheglobe419 have you ever seen a mechanics daily?
      Also if it's not about it, then why the hell did you mention it?!?!
      All I said was "high end doesn't mean they are good"!
      They are tools of the trade, they take a beating, polishing them doesn't make you money! Know what neat and tidy gets you? A by the book and only by the book repair! That comes with a "but the book" price! Otherwise known as "an asinine price on not only labor, but how many hours and part markup of roughly 150% MINIMUM! We call them "parts installers" because they don't fix shit! They just replace it (and if they are wrong, they still charge you for their fuck up!) THAT'S what separates a mechanic you want working on your vehicle vs one you don't! Need one that can actually do proper diagnostics, who is fair and gives you options, communicate clearly with you and is honest and upfront! Who's a little dirty and they're shit is a little in disarray, because he's too busy actually fixing shit! A good person will always take care of others property, even if they don't take care of their own! (They fix everyone else's shit all day, unless it's broke broke, we don't fix ours!)
      Don't forget, it's always the people you least expect, they hide behind a fake facade, they need to sell you on their con! They appear to be put together and make you trusting in them, then all of a sudden they tell you the problem is one thing but then you'll get a call saying "well after getting in there, this and this also need to be replaced, if I only replace the aforementioned original issue then the exact same problem will persist!" All of a sudden the bill is 3x the amount because they just swing and hope to hit, if not they know full well..... Not their problem! You still will pay for it and they don't even have the decency to tell you, not only, they actually lie to your face making up some spiel that you think you kind of understand yet you are completely and utterly confused, what you heard doesn't make sense, but you know you didn't hear everything they said so you just agree and say "oh, ok" all the while he's standing behind you whispering shit into your ear and you don't even realize he caught you with your pants down! clean tools means they don't do work, take your money and run! 😂
      Ok that was enough fun for one night!

    5:00.. That's how you do it. You find yourself a niche in a market where it costs money to play and the people that are playing have no problem spending the money....👍
    This guy is no dummy. He has already been down the rabbit hole and has found that he doesn't need a $600 set of sockets to do what an $85 set of sockets will do....
    19:19.. he's right. .Alot of people are mistaken about this. .You can't go into HF and just buy a single ICON wrench or socket. .but there is a website that you can access and get your singles
    29:25.. Bauer not Braun..jus sayin
    Also, the ICON serpentine belt tool kit isn't so much about that single ratchet. It's about putting the other accessories on it and changing the angles in a way that your other long ratchets simply cannot do....

    • @BraydenSB
      @BraydenSB 8 месяцев назад +2

      Tech here, fair enough on the serpentine belt tool. I could see it being used if you need a weird offset combination, but for most instances I could just use a set of crows feet. Just not one of those tools I felt was worth spending the money on. In my case I mostly valued having a very slim tool. 👍

    • @boosted2.4_sky
      @boosted2.4_sky 8 месяцев назад +1

      @braydenbelt456 understandable..personally I like Gearwrench's version.. the offset has helped many times on different platforms..not just with getting onto the fasteners but not having to reach down in or bend over (stoop) to swing the tensioners..I can do it mostly upright and not get scratched up or stuck.👍

    • @ToolBoxTour
      @ToolBoxTour  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I have the gearwrench version and it seems a lot longer than the ICON.

    Order a couple of black end lockers off the scratch and dent site in black and bolted them together for storage of fluids.

Tool trucks are going to see a continued decline in revenue based on the "rape wagon" mentality. The years of taking advantage the uninformed and ill advised are over. Pulling the drawer out and it will come free.
      After all you’ll need to do is drill out the 4 or so rivets on each slide, and then transfer them over to the new drawer and rivet them in. IIRC they were 3/16” rivets

I've got the 56in us general box with side cabinet and a 40 something inch Yukon box at work. I'm in the middle of changing jobs so moving them is going to be a pita!! I'm a union millwright in paper mills. I've also got 2 huge cabinets to move too! I've been thinking about asking my mac tools dealer if he would move my icon box for me. I'm pretty sure he would. I've spent over $800 a month with him for almost 3 years.

    Yup 1,100.00 bucks for a simple tri set of sockets from Snap-on…man that much money for only 3 socket sets … so in my work where it’s 60/40 SAE/metric that’s 2,200 for very little fuck that I’m sorry fan boys it’s not worth it I could by a lot more ratchets at that price from snap on

      Just because you know what the tool is for doesn't mean everyone else watching this knows. You'd be surprised to find out how many people don't know what you know and how many people know more than you know.
      I'm pretty sure that you know about cars and trucks but you don't know everything. I've been wrenching now for over 25 years and I'm always learning something new , especially with the new cars that have been coming out. They are making it harder and harder for you to work on the cars. Some of the new window switches don't like ground so if you use your Power Probe on one of the newer cars with smart switches you can cause a serious problem.
      No disrespect but nobody knows everything.
      He's not talking to you. He's speaking to the interviewer and if the interviewer didn't say anything it's ok. It's a tool box tour and in all of the videos I've seen everyone is explaining about sockets... We all have sockets but we are all here watching someone show us sockets in all kind of brands that WE all know about 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

    Icon boxes are built great. They just are not worth that price for only 25 inches deep. Tool vault, extreme tools, tekton (although they dont have hutches or super big boxes) are way better alternatives for 30 inches deep, or a used snap on depending on marketplace deals.

    • @james5274
      @james5274 8 месяцев назад +1

      I agree, for pro techs you need the extra deep drawers. I think that's the only aspect icon fell short on with their tool boxes.

      I went with the 52 inch Husky box over the HF boxes. The bottom drawers are on dual sliders, all the drawers are lined, it has a power strip, it comes with a hardwood top, and you can use the full 25 inch drawers because they slide out further than the HF. Plus it was only $300 brand new on sale.

    I’m seriously considering this box and the locker. Since it’s a home shop, don’t need the hutch.
    We need more info on that organizing rack to the right of the box that has the hardware bins in it.
    11”ish 3/8 fixed head ratchet has always been one of my favorites. Used to be an old 36t Craftsman polished teardrop with quick release. After 30 years, it went missing. So, it got replaced with a Snap On equivalent. Plus I grabbed a 90t non quick release version from Gearwrench and later a US made Proto. Yes, I have a ratchet problem.
    I wonder if Tone makes an equivalent to that stubby Snap On

    I've got the same setup in the same color also with tekton sockets. Save my money for snap on pliers, wrenches and airtools. For the price I got all my sockets from 1/4-1/2 in six and twelve point it cost the same as a snapon 1/4 set I had gotten a while back. How much did you lose getting rid of your epic?

    • @BraydenSB
      @BraydenSB 7 месяцев назад

      I lost 2k, put back 10k in my pocket however. The deal graciously went in my favor. Most people do not have the cash to purchase and no one can finance so selling a used box is quite difficult. Dealers couldn’t buy at the time due to coming back from their show so I ended up trading for a Road Glide worth about the same and sold it within a few days.
