We need a video just about the cats. I couldn't help watch them more than the tools. Enjoying the wood stove and playing on top of the tank, living the life.
Ive watched this tour every week since it came out searching for tools I need. Thank you. I recomend you get the slug wrenches and or the tubular handle wrenches. It would go great with your large crowfeet. The handles are short. X480b 1-1/2" 12-Point SAE Flank Drive Heavy-Duty Offset Box Tubular Wrench or DX148 1-1/2" 12-Point SAE Flank Drive® Heavy-Duty Straight Handle Sledge Hammer Wrench
Mike or "Commander!", is one of the most genuine, humble people I know. He has saved my ASS a couple of times when I didn't have the tools or (mostly) the knowledge to do a job.
For someone doesn’t know mechanically how fix stuff when I see old tools in yard sale I buy them because like Mike said you might not know but nevertheless might figure something out you didn’t would work remember the old saying work smarter not harder
One of my parents best friends was a mechanic and electrician. He was my mentor for that type of work growing up. He taught me how to do everything and was helping out my parents at the same time because they had four kids to feed and house and just didn’t have the money for expensive repairs. Anytime something broke instead of just doing it himself he would teach me how to fix it at the same time. He was an incredibly good guy and would help anyone out without asking for anything in return.
I love seeing these seasoned guys take a trip down memory lane and show off their collection. They’re truly passionate about their craft and can tell you exactly what make and model each speciality tool is for.
What a privilege to have this knowledgeable and successful guy show us his lifetime [tangible] "retirement account"; also love that he gives back to the community and is big time pro-2A!
Stop thinking of Snapon as an investment. He will spend YEARSSS parting this out to get some money back, but what will most likely happen is he'll sell it for pennies on the dollar as a package.... or the more likely scenario his daughters will give it away after he dies.
What a wealth of knowledge and I didn’t even realize I own a few of his silencers until he said it and then I realized who he was! I was thinking all of the way through the video that I recognized him!🤣👍👍
This guy is the mechanics mechanic. He's also the future of all these mechanics I've seen on this channel. They just aren't old/been around enough to have to explain what their tools do. Love it.
This has got to be one of your best videos! And he is so easy to listen to as well. His collection is really a real time catalog!! OMG, magnesium pipe wrenches ; those have got to be the only ones on YT!!!
Ok Mike NEEDS to make a youtube channel he would make a killing posting anything he is working on, he has probably 85-90% of tools ever made so that alone he could make content on!
This guy should have his own channel. Very knowledgeable and has some storied to tell. I bet theres heaps of interesting stuff in his shop he's made, amd plenty of videos to make about the tank.
I wondered when Mike moved the blow molded case and said "that is a DP51" if it was a Daewoo. Later he mentioned working on firearms and then I knew it probably was a Daewoo. Interesting set of tools and some very nice ones. So many that will not be used until somebody is "restoring" an antique car from the 1970's to 1990's. Mike seems to be the kind of guy who people can go to when they are in need of help and can't afford to visit a repair shop. I know of a few people who help out like that and I have done the same myself when I could. Take care, jack
Not only is his tool collection amazing, he’s super chill, very dry humor is right up my alley and then probably coolest of all, he founded dead air! This guy is the goat.
This is now my favorite tour. I don't think anyone can come close to this collection of Snap-On. Absolutely amazing. But what is even more amazing, this guy knows his $hit! I was a working mechanic in the late 80's early 90's and I can tell this guy has experience just by some things he mentioned. This is a justifiable obsessive collection, LOL.Man, would I like to know a guy like this for when I get stumped on something. Thank you Mike for taking the time to show all of this.
Love the cats running around on the tank in the back ground! This is the man, the legend. Absolute pleasure watching and listening to everything this man has to say.
Without a doubt one of my favourite Tool Box Tours to date. The length of this was PERFECT! In my opinion - the longer the better. Sometimes I'm left wanting to know what is in the blow mould cases - if time permits - would love to see inside more of them in future! Thank you so much for taking the time to edit and film this one. Thanks also to Mike for taking us through his awesome box! Looking forward to this weeks already :)
Talked to Mike today he told me to check out the video and I am so impressed with the amount of knowledge he has I love doing mechanic work and hope I can get to his level in the future! He truly is an awesome guy!
Fantastic tool collection from a very experienced mechanic. Thank you for sharing, especially all the tips and recommendations. I took notes. Your neighbors, friends, and family are lucky to have such a talented experienced person around to help.
Damn! This is the best one so far! Mike is the Man!!! I hope he started a trend where all the guys’ setups you feature give you a tool! And at the end of each year, you show off your collection of given tools, going over your favorite tools or toolboxes or setups you liked the most! Or most practical? Or best organization, etc? Like an EOTY awards 😂!
Always admirable to see someone that not only knows what they're doing, but also has the odd tool needed for it. I'm glad I chose to specialize in one type of vehicle to prevent needing this many tools
The fact you do that for people and don’t charge them that’s a god send brother you are one of the most humble people I’ve ever seen and that you have a huge heart and wish people would learn from you
I was a 63B light wheel mech in the Army and when they switch us to 91b wheel mech i got to turn wrenches on alot of vehicles. Coolest thing was I recognize alot of the tools we uses on our vehicles. Ty for your tour

Mike is a great guy. I sold Mike just handful of those Snap On tools back when I ran a truck (2011-2016) when he was working at a gun store at that time. Bought some gun stuff from him that was back when he had left SilincerCo and before starting up dead air. Never saw his box or setup but wow heck of a collection. I thought mine was decent I was a tech before doing Snap On, and when I left Snap On I kept at least 1 of most anything I possibly thought I might use one day still have stuff in my box sealed up haven’t even opened it yet.
Absolutely unbelievable tour and an unbelievable guy. A real treat of a tour with a crazy wealth of knowledge and tools on display. Keep up the great work man!

Mercy, what a tool tool collection this very likeable gentleman has. To me, it was the most inspiring tool show I have ever seen! And also the most expensive tool show ever! I found myself stopping the show several times and switching over to eBay buying right away quite a few tools that this gentleman introduced. Tools, I did not even know that they exist until now! With the video being 90 minutes long I thought I will watch as much as I could until I become board. I watched the whole thing Great video and you can tell that Mike is a great guy. I’m proud to say that I run several of mikes products.
I love tools. I still have an old set of pliers and a screwdriver my grandfather gave me when I was 5 years old. That was 47 years ago. My first set of wire cutters I bought when I was 9 broke last year. The spring inside that opens them broke so I made a new spring for it in a pinch from a bicycle wheel spoke and it’s still holding up.
I'm 35 and in Australia, we had Chrysler Valiant here, I worked at a suspension shop as an apprentice. We used to use the Chrysler ball joint tool all the time, I went back to visit one time and the young guys in the shop were using it as a press tool, so I put it in my pocket and left, I still have it and haven't done a Chrysler ball joint since.
Outstanding episode!!! Being an older head myself, I could relate to some of those tools. Also saw quite a few new things I'd like to add to my box. Thanks for the tour!!! Happy new years.
That socket drawer tool grid storage setup is sweet. I looked into it and, someday. They are very proud of it. The Milwaukee M12 impact. I own it in 3/8" and i love it. I do not use it as a "impact" of sorts, it is only rated at 250 ft lbs. I grab my M18 mid torque for that type of work. The m12 is a disassemble/assembly gun as a time saver. Same way we used a 3/8 air ratchet.
@ 59:20 That’s a Subaru ball joint puller used to remove it from the knuckle cuz they can be a real 🐩 (female dog) if you know what I’m saying. But Astro makes a really nice one more heavy duty and anyone does subies can appreciate it but as a Master tech in an independent shop you learn to get around. But great touring if not the BEST one of. 👍🏾 👍🏾
What an Amazing setup. That Snap-On compressor wrench is pretty cool. I have a vintage Bonney RF-22 refrigeration ratcheting (single direction, single pawl) wrench with the square holes and some offset hex sizes. His tool game is seriously next level.
Mike is such a great guy. I’ve had a number of business dealings with him when he worked at a gun store and they were always great interactions. He even let me run 100rds through his suppressed Mac 11 one time to sweeten a deal for me. He’s just awesome like that.
ExcellentTour love his knowledge and the helping out he does for the folks that need some help Ironically. i wound up with a 13mm ninety degree box wrench that wasa Specialty Distributor Wrench for Ford Pintos in the early 70s it was. given to me after the car was scrapped and Crushed but that wrench. got me out of many binds working on Antiquez cars ,Trucks and Motor boats both Professionally and Rcreationally over my 60 years ( BTW it was also a great fit for older 1/2” bolts before Crow Foot came out i shortened the handle to fit older Chris Craft distributors that had Bulkheads in their way
WoW im 26yrs old .. some people tell me im crazy about tools .. them people know nothing .. Ii want to be like you .. .. I mean I will be ! time . be patient . respect the tools .. Thanks to You Sir !!
On this episode Cesar the tool whispererer shows us organisation Perfection, completionism and the sleekest way to show off simple but great infographics explaining things and showing tool ids and pricing...ASMR episode. ❤
Killer setup. It is nice having options. Nothing worse then doing a job and I know there’s a better tool but I don’t own it or have it on hand. I’ve made a lot of my own custom tools over the years too.
I failed to mention Ernie Beckwith is my friend that gave me the wrench knife. That was a lot of talking.
Would love to hear more stories from you! Thank you for the tour really got a lot from it! Great perspective!
We need a video just about the cats. I couldn't help watch them more than the tools. Enjoying the wood stove and playing on top of the tank, living the life.

It’s been forever how is life treating you?
Mike from Dead Air, a beast.
ExcellentTour love his knowledge and the helping out he does for the folks that need some help Ironically. i wound up with a 13mm ninety degree box wrench that wasa Specialty Distributor Wrench for Ford Pintos in the early 70s it was. given to me after the car was scrapped and Crushed but that wrench. got me out of many binds working on Antiquez cars ,Trucks and Motor boats both Professionally and Rcreationally over my 60 years ( BTW it was also a great fit for older 1/2” bolts before Crow Foot came out i shortened the handle to fit older Chris Craft distributors that had Bulkheads in their way
Really dig Mike's Mojo. Thanks for introducing us to him.

Killer setup. It is nice having options. Nothing worse then doing a job and I know there’s a better tool but I don’t own it or have it on hand. I’ve made a lot of my own custom tools over the years too.
If there is a better tool, this guy owns it!
