- I didn’t know what to say when I saw a tank sitting in Mike’s garage. Needless to say, his setup supports any hobbies he has - including maintaining his tank and military truck. Mike easily has the biggest collection of Snap-on tools out of anyone I’ve had featured on this channel to date. Such an impressive setup! Thank you SO much Mike!! I had a blast! If you enjoyed the tour Mike took us on, give this video a Like!

I failed to mention Ernie Beckwith is my friend that gave me the wrench knife. That was a lot of talking.
Would love to hear more stories from you! Thank you for the tour really got a lot from it! Great perspective!
We need a video just about the cats. I couldn't help watch them more than the tools. Enjoying the wood stove and playing on top of the tank, living the life.
Mike I have to say you a very interesting guy. It was a pleasure looking at your tools with you thanks for having me.
Ive watched this tour every week since it came out searching for tools I need. Thank you. I recomend you get the slug wrenches and or the tubular handle wrenches. It would go great with your large crowfeet. The handles are short. X480b 1-1/2" 12-Point SAE Flank Drive Heavy-Duty Offset Box Tubular Wrench or DX148 1-1/2" 12-Point SAE Flank Drive® Heavy-Duty Straight Handle Sledge Hammer Wrench
You are the man, awesome video and EXTREMELY impressive box and knowledge on where everything is and what it is lol so awesome
This guy is super cool. I love the setup and the shop space. I also like what he said "tools don't make the mechanic but it's a joy to have options."
Mike or "Commander!", is one of the most genuine, humble people I know. He has saved my ASS a couple of times when I didn't have the tools or (mostly) the knowledge to do a job.
@@mikepappas6415 Thank you for the tour.
I wrote down a few things to look for the next time I’m tool shopping!
For someone doesn’t know mechanically how fix stuff when I see old tools in yard sale I buy them because like Mike said you might not know but nevertheless might figure something out you didn’t would work remember the old saying work smarter not harder
Can I get your contact info, have some questions @@mikepappas6415
One of my parents best friends was a mechanic and electrician. He was my mentor for that type of work growing up. He taught me how to do everything and was helping out my parents at the same time because they had four kids to feed and house and just didn’t have the money for expensive repairs. Anytime something broke instead of just doing it himself he would teach me how to fix it at the same time. He was an incredibly good guy and would help anyone out without asking for anything in return.
Thankyou for sharing. I learned a lot.
What a privilege to have this knowledgeable and successful guy show us his lifetime [tangible] "retirement account"; also love that he gives back to the community and is big time pro-2A!
Stop thinking of Snapon as an investment. He will spend YEARSSS parting this out to get some money back, but what will most likely happen is he'll sell it for pennies on the dollar as a package.... or the more likely scenario his daughters will give it away after he dies.
I love seeing these seasoned guys take a trip down memory lane and show off their collection. They’re truly passionate about their craft and can tell you exactly what make and model each speciality tool is for.
Not only is his tool collection amazing, he’s super chill, very dry humor is right up my alley and then probably coolest of all, he founded dead air! This guy is the goat.
Love the cats running around on the tank in the back ground! This is the man, the legend. Absolute pleasure watching and listening to everything this man has to say.
Mikes dry sense of humor is one of the most entertaining things I’ve watched in a long time great video guys.
Mike is THE BEST human being ever!!! I love this tour. His Snap On tools are just insane. And so I organized. Coolest tour ever!
He definitely has an amazing setup!
That was good, he kept it entertaining with odd tools and descriptions. Has to be the record for most tools so far on your channel.
Holy crap, it's Mike Pappas with a real nice box!
This has got to be one of your best videos! And he is so easy to listen to as well. His collection is really a real time catalog!!
OMG, magnesium pipe wrenches ; those have got to be the only ones on YT!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This guy is the mechanics mechanic. He's also the future of all these mechanics I've seen on this channel. They just aren't old/been around enough to have to explain what their tools do. Love it.
As a fellow Tool-a-holic, I understand everything that You have to say about your passion.🥰
This is the type of grandfather every kid would be proud to have.
What a great guy. Very inspirational. I’ve never seen a tool setup like that. My mind is blown. Thanks for the tour.
Fantastic tool collection from a very experienced mechanic. Thank you for sharing, especially all the tips and recommendations. I took notes. Your neighbors, friends, and family are lucky to have such a talented experienced person around to help.
Couldn’t have said it better!
I had no idea Pappas was such a car guy! I like him even more, and now feel obligated to add another dead air can to my collection.
Do it!!
This guy should have his own channel. Very knowledgeable and has some storied to tell. I bet theres heaps of interesting stuff in his shop he's made, amd plenty of videos to make about the tank.
Damn. Talk about a high roller. I'm 30 seconds in.
Ok Mike NEEDS to make a youtube channel he would make a killing posting anything he is working on, he has probably 85-90% of tools ever made so that alone he could make content on!
Without a doubt one of my favourite Tool Box Tours to date. The length of this was PERFECT! In my opinion - the longer the better. Sometimes I'm left wanting to know what is in the blow mould cases - if time permits - would love to see inside more of them in future! Thank you so much for taking the time to edit and film this one. Thanks also to Mike for taking us through his awesome box! Looking forward to this weeks already :)
What a kind and generous dude ! Mike's generosity with his knowledge and expertise really came across in this session. Excellent work gentlemen !
What a wealth of knowledge and I didn’t even realize I own a few of his silencers until he said it and then I realized who he was! I was thinking all of the way through the video that I recognized him!🤣👍👍
This is now my favorite tour. I don't think anyone can come close to this collection of Snap-On. Absolutely amazing. But what is even more amazing, this guy knows his $hit! I was a working mechanic in the late 80's early 90's and I can tell this guy has experience just by some things he mentioned. This is a justifiable obsessive collection, LOL.Man, would I like to know a guy like this for when I get stumped on something. Thank you Mike for taking the time to show all of this.
him giving you that knife was the coolest that guy is awesome! and that knife is sick.
Yeah ill keep that knife for the rest of my life 🤘
I would love to hang out in this shop drink some coffee with Mike he seems such a great guy and a encyclopedia of knowledge
Talked to Mike today he told me to check out the video and I am so impressed with the amount of knowledge he has I love doing mechanic work and hope I can get to his level in the future! He truly is an awesome guy!
Always admirable to see someone that not only knows what they're doing, but also has the odd tool needed for it. I'm glad I chose to specialize in one type of vehicle to prevent needing this many tools
The mirror image configuration of the complete set-up is really high quality touch!
Damn! This is the best one so far! Mike is the Man!!! I hope he started a trend where all the guys’ setups you feature give you a tool! And at the end of each year, you show off your collection of given tools, going over your favorite tools or toolboxes or setups you liked the most! Or most practical? Or best organization, etc? Like an EOTY awards 😂!
The fact you do that for people and don’t charge them that’s a god send brother you are one of the most humble people I’ve ever seen and that you have a huge heart and wish people would learn from you
Best tour I have seen so far. You can tell this guy has a wealth of knowledge. I also appreciate the No color coordination just goes for what works and is ready for anything.
He is so cool. Let's face it, we all aspire to own a toolbox like that and have the knowledge he has. Everyone who knows him personally is blessed to have him nearby, one of the best toolbox tours 👍
Such a genuine and down to earth guy, can't beat old skool mechanics so much knowledge and you can tell hes one those people who aint gonna tell you twice, absolute fair play to giving you the gift pure love and generosity from him by far the best tour yet ❤️
Depth and breadth, this guy has it in spades. Tools, knowledge, facilities, humor, intelligence. Great tour and interview.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I wish this guy was my dad. Just such chill vibes, and so dang smart.
This one took me 2 sitting but I got thru it this morning. What an awesome look into Mikes shop.
Really enjoyed the tidbits of info on the less common tools.
Thanks for this one gentlemen! 🙏🏻
I'm glad you came back to finish!
This is the freakin box of all boxes ..nice one finding This gem! He’s clearly done some work with his knowledge and so many of these tools look brand new so you can take care of your investment better than someone like myself in the field it’s a bit hard to keep things so pristine
It took a couple times to watch to get through the whole video. Totally worth it. Man of much knowledge and a true lover of tools. Very much enjoyed this video
Has to be one of the most knowledgeable Mechanics around.
Amazing setup. I’ve worked on cars my entire life but I had no idea this level of tool collection was a thing. Wow, great stuff!
Favorite tour I’ve seen! Seasoned guy with a ton of old school experience.
NOW THATS A TOOL SET...BEST I HAVE SEEN YET..
Nice to see a box that goes big, without trash and cases filling it up. Saw a few things to order.
as the owner of a Dead Air Sandman, I'm happy to see my money being put to good use
Thank you Sir!
I've watched a lot of these, and this fella is the best by far. Lots of old school specialty items that got me looking around on eBay.
What a fantastic dude. Humble working man, mechanic, business owner, father of EIGHT daughters, and black cats playing in the background on top of a TANK.
Thanks for the video.
Not eight
@@MichaelMcKee-ip9fp Forgive me for assuming. I counted eight pictures at 1:24:37 and he never clarified in the video. Perhaps you can enlighten me?
I wondered when Mike moved the blow molded case and said "that is a DP51" if it was a Daewoo. Later he mentioned working on firearms and then I knew it probably was a Daewoo.
Interesting set of tools and some very nice ones. So many that will not be used until somebody is "restoring" an antique car from the 1970's to 1990's.
Mike seems to be the kind of guy who people can go to when they are in need of help and can't afford to visit a repair shop. I know of a few people who help out like that and I have done the same myself when I could.
Take care,
jack
the r12 joke had me rolling.
Legit best tour so far. This guy is awesome and I love how every tool he has has a story behind it
Mikes a top man, so genuine.
I have watched probably every toolbox tour beginning to end. And this is my favorite one, mainly because this guy is freakin awesome.
If there is a Heaven section for mechanics, it gotta be THIS ONE!
2AM.... watching your video....
In his "junk drawer" around 26:51, if you look hard, you'll see a glock handgun tucked in the back😂
Absolutely unbelievable tour and an unbelievable guy. A real treat of a tour with a crazy wealth of knowledge and tools on display. Keep up the great work man!
That mirror image toolbox is beautiful to the eye. Great guy to listen to. Thanks for sharing.
Great video it’s great how he remembers everything and his unique way of explaining everything plus he has a great sense of humor
I love old generous gearheads like this! Love all your content man, I’d like to see more tours of various trades: fields technician truck tours, contractors, cabinet makers etc. just a thought!
Hands down the best setup I have seen yet, Totally genuine chap too..
I will never forget that slide hammer vice grip combo. What a genius idea.
I was a 63B light wheel mech in the Army and when they switch us to 91b wheel mech i got to turn wrenches on alot of vehicles. Coolest thing was I recognize alot of the tools we uses on our vehicles. Ty for your tour
That’s really cool!
What an Awesome guy and a killer toolbox tour! You can tell he doesn’t enjoy talking about tools with people!🤣🤣🤣 Dam I wish he was my neighbor!!👍👍
WOW!! What a super nice fella. His tool box is impressive too. How clean & well looked after are his tools.
Great tour and it's awesome that he is in a position to help people out without charging. I grabbed a couple of those snap ring tools when my father in law passed because they looked cool. I'll be taking them to work now that I know what they are
This guy is awesome. All of your interviewees are interesting, but he's the best thus far. Worth coming back for another round with this guy!!
I cut my teeth on Chevys like the 72-67 truck you are working on.
Mike is a great guy. I sold Mike just handful of those Snap On tools back when I ran a truck (2011-2016) when he was working at a gun store at that time. Bought some gun stuff from him that was back when he had left SilincerCo and before starting up dead air. Never saw his box or setup but wow heck of a collection. I thought mine was decent I was a tech before doing Snap On, and when I left Snap On I kept at least 1 of most anything I possibly thought I might use one day still have stuff in my box sealed up haven’t even opened it yet.
Very cool to hear some history. Thanks for watching 🙂
Love the cat sleeping behind the heater. Got me a black cat too.
This is my favorite tour yet. Mike seems like a super cool guy!
I am thankful for you sharing your tool box organization. I learned a bunch tips I will utilize in my shop, if we are not raptured first.
You had me until the rapture part
Bro with the casual pistol in the junk drawer 🤣🤣🤣. All kidding aside this was super informative and you have a very nice tool collection
On this episode Cesar the tool whispererer shows us organisation Perfection, completionism and the sleekest way to show off simple but great infographics explaining things and showing tool ids and pricing...ASMR episode. ❤
Damn I thought I had a ton of tools. Love how he has his Metric and American sockets all separated by drive
With the video being 90 minutes long I thought I will watch as much as I could until I become board. I watched the whole thing Great video and you can tell that Mike is a great guy. I’m proud to say that I run several of mikes products.
By far the best tool box tour yet
Glad you liked it!
Man he is really good at talking with his hands, and not to mention. The shoe selection is just as I would have guessed 😂
I knew exactly who this was when I saw tank owner and snap on fortune. Mike is the man.
laid back, and my sense of humor. This is the kind of wrenching I enjoy doing. I don't want to do it for a living, but I like to help people.
What a genuine guy. That is the craziest toolbox full of stuff I have ever seen.
Mike is such a great guy. I’ve had a number of business dealings with him when he worked at a gun store and they were always great interactions. He even let me run 100rds through his suppressed Mac 11 one time to sweeten a deal for me. He’s just awesome like that.
It’s been forever how is life treating you?
Mike is a great humble brilliant man.
Couldn’t agree more!
Mike pappas founder of dead air silencers…he’s done great things for the 2A community
Mercy, what a tool tool collection this very likeable gentleman has. To me, it was the most inspiring tool show I have ever seen! And also the most expensive tool show ever! I found myself stopping the show several times and switching over to eBay buying right away quite a few tools that this gentleman introduced. Tools, I did not even know that they exist until now! Thank you so much for sharing your tool collection to the world! And I also subscribed the channel!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for subscribing!!
What a solid guy! God bless him
WoW im 26yrs old .. some people tell me im crazy about tools .. them people know nothing .. Ii want to be like you .. .. I mean I will be ! time . be patient . respect the tools .. Thanks to You Sir !!
Love this guy and his box, you can tell he's just a wealth of knowledge, awesome
Great video. The tool owner is a cool dude. Very down to earth. He has it all. Amazing setup. My jaw dropped when he pulled out the $2900 Snap On 1000. I would love to be there in person and see it all. Thanks to you both for the great video.
I’m glad you enjoyed it Joe!
Wow!! Thank You Sir for letting us see you’re tools and you taking the time to talk about them.. It 100% helps the people that do this kind of work… Thank You👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 And OMG!!!!😮😮😮😮😮😮😃😃😃😃😃😃😃 One of the BEST setup I’ve seen. And he knows his shit!!
I like this dude you can tell hes a book of knowledge
Freaking crazy. I’m holding one of his suppressors right now.
Awesome!
Thank You Sir!!
Gm used that clip on wheel cylinders on various models. W bodys Some caddies Olds tornado. Buck rivera. Been years since I have seen such tool. Been years since I used mine. LOl. A lot nice old gems in that box.
Outstanding episode!!! Being an older head myself, I could relate to some of those tools. Also saw quite a few new things I'd like to add to my box. Thanks for the tour!!! Happy new years.
That cotter pin pulling tool is just about exactly what we used on airplanes for hinge pins handy for many things
Cool! That’s a neat insight. Thanks for watching Andy
Mike from Dead Air, a beast.
What an awesome tour and even a better dude.
That Lisle 18800 is a life saver! No idea where I got mine, but it's priceless!
Really dig Mike's Mojo. Thanks for introducing us to him.
I love this guy so far my absolute favorite.
I'm 35 and in Australia, we had Chrysler Valiant here, I worked at a suspension shop as an apprentice.
We used to use the Chrysler ball joint tool all the time, I went back to visit one time and the young guys in the shop were using it as a press tool, so I put it in my pocket and left, I still have it and haven't done a Chrysler ball joint since.
