for renaming and coloring patterns you can middle click (or hit F2) to rename/color instead of right click then selecting color.
And also for the merging tracks, instead of right clicking and selecting group with above track, you can instead move your curser to just under the track and the click and hold to resize but if you click hold and keep dragging up it will merge it with the above track.

To group multiple channels on the playlist you can select them and with 1 click perform this action (instead of doing so one by one as seen @3:30)
