DIY has great products, but I feel like they are losing wht drew ppl to them. The vibe was simple pro grade, reasonably priced products for the average car enthusiasts at home. Hence "D.I.Y" (Do It Yourself)....the simplicity was great, not a whole bunch of products, but boy has tht changed. The new name should be DIY For Pros ...they took the simplicity out the equation..do I use Ceramic Gloss or Mist ? Beforeit was clean ya car and add coating, now it's buy this Adhesion product for $40...the coatings were reasonably priced thn *Boom* now if u want the best protection buy this C6 for $300 !! They told me for over a year all I need is Ceramic Gloss for $20 now all of a sudden u need Mist for $30. Great products no doubt about it but it seems like its more for ppl w a detailing business these days. The marketing isn't aimed at wht made them popular.

For sure I can definitely feel and see your viewpoint in terms of what DIY did. To be quite frank Yvan was working on C6 and their coatings while DIY was in its infancy and unfortunately pros wanted more which they themselves said well we are working on super professional only coatings which will require a adhesive primer polish for it for more longevity. The maintenance products will be all diy stuff and panel prep for matte vehicles. With professional wanting more and showing off the new C6 coatings the enthusiasts that loved the DIY brand want more. Which is why they developed HydroLite . As for the mist I don't have a lot of time and I need to ask more questions on it. From my understanding it's more of just a drying aid with no real protection that will inhibit the hydrophobic qualities of hydro or diamond from their pro line.
Because what we were getting is ceramic gloss would inhibit the crazy beads and water repellency on the hydro and diamond coatings from C6 which we did not like. Hopefully this clears up everything and I definitely see your viewpoint on how you feel.
In hindsight it was the dedicated enthusiasts that wanted more of what they had. which they decided to listen to their fan base which there are more enthusiasts than professionals. IMO you don't need their adhesion product if you don't want as that is more of a choice just stick with panel prep.
All in all the 3 main different products which they added is just HydroLite, most and hydro glass that's it really. Everything else is to be maintained with the diy line. 👍

@DetailingMadeSimple I totally understand but I'm glad u can see where I'm coming from as well.

@@Tigerbergslim for sure I totally agree with your viewpoints and there are just a lot of enthusiasts that always want more and better than what they have the next step is the professional line from there which at least DIY was nice enough for their enthusiasts to have as well. Although hydro glass is definitely way better than any of their consumer coatings they offer that goes on glass. That I can say with confidence. So at least it's just not another product for their customers.
For the diy coatings it's a good coating for the DIY. But it's just a jack of all trade coatings that does everything well. 💪💪

3x the price of ADS or Soft 99? No durability claims? Hype is expensive these days 🤡.

There are differences with each brand and chemistry as ADS we have to wait 8-24 hours to release. Also soft 99 in my experience causes chatter on the windshield. Just use what you like. I've never claimed for it to be the best. Just showing the ease of use and will keep posted over time. Appreciate the comment. 👍

@@DetailingMadeSimple keep doing you man, love the channel. The price comment wasn’t directed towards you just a general comment about how expensive it is compared to others that do the pretty much the same thing. I just used those as an example for price. Diamond Pro tech glass is $45 and no cure time.
I just struggle with their prices. If the chemistry is different that's great but these companies are just putting out products 3x the price of the competition and not telling us why it's better or why it will last longer.

@@victormorales2876 I could care less if they did. No one wants to state the obvious though. Someone’s gotta keep it real.
