Great teaching video as always, Phil! I can't tell you how much I've learned from you. I'm not a pro, but the knowledge I've gained from you and a few others has allowed me to take better care of my own cars, and to actually begin doing a few family/friends' vehicles on the side. I absolutely love it! Thanks for sharing all the great tips, techniques, and products with us, Phil. It really is much appreciated!
Thanks man!! 😎👍🏼
Me too!
Great video. I own a Tesla model 3 blue, same one in your video. Thanks for making this.
I have 1 question though. Which Ceramic coating is better? GTechniq crystal serum or Adams advanced graphene Ceramic coating?
Thanks. I haven’t used the Adams coatings. But have never had a coating fail from Gtechniq. CSL is my all time favorite. I have vehicles going on 3 years with just one layer and they are preforming perfectly.
@@MirandaDetailing thanks for ur response
Haha I hate those gas caps too that’s why I always use car wash mode. If not I’ll touch the handle and it’ll open too or the mirrors move 😂 great video like always 🎉
😆 thanks!
Gas cap!🤣🤣
Put the Tesla in car wash mode next time
@@dmv_p 😂
How long did it take you to detail this car from start to finish? Video editing always makes it look like it's done in a few hours, but of course it would be silly to think that.
Hi. Usually with the two of us about 5-6 hours or so.
This was a wonderful presentation. As far as gas caps go, my '93 Allante's, '97 Escort's, and my '02 Thunderbird's gas caps have not worried me. However, my '82 Corvette's gas cap caused me heartburn, chest pain, and headaches frequently because of where it is located. I do wonder, why would a Tesla need a gas cap?
Hey Phil, I like the way that ceramic coating goes on as well. But I just bought Kort UK 3.0 what’s your thoughts on that coating? I used it a few years ago and it turned out great, but it was not the easiest coding to remove. that coating in your video comes off super easy. Thanks!
Hi. Yes we loved that’s stuff Cquartz UK3 also. We used to use it a lot years ago. Thinks weird however. It was pretty easy to apply and remove for me.
ruclips.net/video/ERIXOuxHrSs/видео.htmlsi=YuCJ9KAM_S6-54E5
@@MirandaDetailing Phil, if I apply that ceramic coating and it rains two hours later, will that kill my application?
Well yeah…ceramic coatings like carpro, Gtechniq and gyeon need at least 12 hour cure time. If they get wet early it will compromise the coating.
Gas cap thingy: "so hey Phil I'mmmma.. I'm the cap thingy on the car. It's nice to meet you and if you need any..."
Phil: shuts it.
Gas cap thingy: "yeah so it looks like you accidentally shut m......"
Phil: shuts it.
Gas cap thingy: "so yeah guys I don't think the new guy likes us much."
🤣🤣🤣. That’s the dialogue in my head also! 🤣🤣🤣
Phil you're exactly right about having a mini polisher/pad. My Griots G8 has the 3.5" backing plate and I picked up the 1" conversion standoff. For the weekend warrior it's a $20 upgrade. If I had a business I'd definitely have a dedicated 1" I could just grab.
I’m watching all your older videos lol. Noticed you haven’t posted in a few weeks or atleast it seems like it. Everything ok buddy?
Hey man. Yeah I missed this past Sundays viddo drop becasue we were in FLORIDA at MTE. New video comes out tomorrow! This was the last video we did ruclips.net/video/_4YjECEm-YI/видео.html
@@MirandaDetailing that’s awesome buddy!
Hi, Which ceramic coating are you using?
Hi. Thanks for watching. At minute 9:08 I showed it was Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light. Awesome coating!!
There is a lot going on here, could you give us a rough idea about what a service like this would cost? I expect to get my Tesla within a week or so and would love to get it treated like this. I checked your website and Richmond isn't very convenient to Raleigh.
Hi. Looks like you’re less than 3 hours away from us. Our ceramic coating services are listed on our website. Our 2 year ceramic coating service is $1200. Our 3-5 year is $1500 and our 7-10 year is $2000. Each include what you see in the this video. The cleaning and prepping, paint enhancement polish, and coating applied on the paint, plastic trim, wheel faces and all the glass. Let me know if you would be interested in scheduling either of those services. 😎👍🏼
@@MirandaDetailing I'm interested, that's better than what I was thinking. I'd go for the 3-5 year service. About how long does it take as obviously I'd have to wait and maybe Uber someplace for a nice long lunch. Of course before scheduling anything I have to get the car!
Ok great. The service takes two days. Feel free to call later this afternoon and I can go over some the details.
@@MirandaDetailing I'll call after I get the car. I'd probably be looking to get the service done sometime during the week between Christmas and New Years if that works for you.
@JeffDeWitt that’s fine. December is all booked for us. We have availability beginning to mid Jan.
Great video Phil, trying to get my Tesla to look just like that😂😂
You and your wife make a great team
Thanks! 😎👍🏼
Appreciate the video Phil watching during lunch. Always enjoyable and informative content.
Thanks man!
Good video for polishing and showing the flashing of the coating, but wish you had offered more tips about the coating itself (application, beginner mistakes, avoiding high spots, etc.)
Hi. Thanks. Oh we have hundreds of videos on coating tips!
Search out channel for “ceramic coatings” and you will find lots!!
ruclips.net/video/2O1J1mD7MiI/видео.htmlsi=bFdZDGOPoKWwpiLm
Good video. I laughed at the 6 min mark. You should look into voice over work for cartoons. I also enjoy using the NSP line.
🤣🤣🤣
Good job and nice product.
you don't like putting on nose cover when you apply coatings why I ask I that I see some detailers cover their nose.is the chemical so harmful or not
Hi. Thanks. Some people are just sensitive to the smell of some coatings. I’m not. Plus I can open my garage door if the smell of chemicals is too much.
I was searching for a prep and ceramic coat new Tesla model Y video and this was perfect even same color. I’ve got a brand new 24’ Model Y Performance Blue with white interior and am an amateur detailer that likes to learn how to take care of my own cars. This helps out a lot thanks.
Awesome! Congrats on the new Tesla! 😎👍🏼
I have a white gmc sieraa 2016 paint defects medium to heavy would u use cut max or oberk
Hi. Cant; really say which one until you do a test spot to see how the paint reacts. Try one of them and see how it works
Phil, did you say gas cap sarcastically????? Also mini polisher link please....
🤣 yeah. Actually that one wasn’t very good. I broke after a few months.
This one is better. amzn.to/3h7E2Nh
Phil, you are a machine! Full of tips an tricks for the community! 🤜🤛 Always enjoy the videos!! Happy holidays to you all!!!
Thanks man!! 😎👍🏼
What’s a better pre wash, active foam or super foam? And how often do you apply coating to your applicator? Every panel?
Hi. Both are great and have their place. I use super foam on initial details because it’s so strong. I use active foam for protected vehicles because it’s a ph of around 9 so it’s not as aggressive on the protection. I apply the coating on the applicator for each section.
NSP are the truth! Makes life so much easier!! Thanks for the how too
Hey Phil. I must say. Hands down the best work I’ve come across on ceramic coating 👏 awesome. I’ve been looking into ceramic coat my Tesla model 3. What are some good basic products I would need ? Very new to the process of polishing pads to use and compound . Whats something good to start with ?
Hi. Thanks.
It all depends on what type of polishing you want to do.
If you’re new to polishing I would go with either the Rupes line which is very easy to use, but a little pricey, bit.ly/411eORt
or the Meguiar’s line with D300 Correction Compound and M210 finish polish.

Teslas are for wanks. Over sized rc car
How would you price or what would you say if a customer has a old vehicle that was in a barn or has been sitting for a very long time and could potentially have mold/mouse ? Politely refuse ?
Hi. Yeah we stopped doing those jobs, we would charge over a $1000 for them because they are so gross and no one wanted to pay that. So good for us…we don’t want to do them anyway 🤣
@@MirandaDetailing what can I say to politely refuse the job or communicate that to the customer that we don’t do that? Or what if they bring you the car and it has real bad mold or mouse activity and they didn’t tell you? They specifically say the vehicle has been sitting a very long time interior ? They say it’s not bad but shows up bad ? Also they like to never get back to me about signing form and I have to bug them it can be frustrating
Thanks
What product did you use at the 8:08 mark and why did you wipe the car with it before you started the ceramic coating?
Hi. It’s the Meguiar’s panel prep. I don’t like using panel preps but I used it on this one. I forget why. We now only use the dr bealseys NSP primer polishes for coating jobs. That way we don’t need to use a panel wipe before applying a ceramic coating. ruclips.net/video/2O1J1mD7MiI/видео.htmlsi=BC-fnAH1xLP-RfbG
Nice video... like Ur way to apply crystal cerum... Happy Detailing ......
Thanks man!
Great video Phil let you know 3d has a new 1step it called 1-cut coming soon they taking preorder
Thanks! Awesome Can't wait to try it.
You mean electric cap lol are charge cap
Hey Phil, you guys do a wonderful job with the videos, I just want to say thanks. My question is have you ever used the SPTA cordless DA polisher? If so what are your thoughts? Not sure I can swing a FLEX lol
Hi. Thanks so much! Oh yes! We have been using the SPTA cordless machines for about 5 years now. When you watch out other videos you will see us use them all the time! ruclips.net/video/KKT5ha9nZhQ/видео.html
@@MirandaDetailing Ok thanks so much
Where do you get extra batteries for your SPTA polishers?
They use Makita batteries. amzn.to/3qnhBaQ
Nice work Phil, can you apply CSL over PPF as well?
Thanks! Yes you can.
To lock the charging port put the car in Car Wash Mode
Cool. Thanks
Looks awesome guys! I like those Applicator pads as well
Thanks! 😎👍🏼
Hey brother how’s that scangrip for high spots ?
It’s great! I love handheld lights!
Another awesome video !
Thanks Bro!
Great video! Link for the mini polisher?
Hi. Thanks. Actually that one wasn’t very good. I broke after a few months.
This one is better. amzn.to/3h7E2Nh
Love your tips and ceramic coatings are the absolute sickest.
Thanks man! I hope it helps a lot of new detailers!
@@MirandaDetailing you do a great job bru and I hope that you are helping make the industry better.
Great video Phil
Great job and video very informative!!!!
Thanks
Hey there Phil. What software do you use to edit your videos?
Hi. I use Final Cut Pro X
@@MirandaDetailing thank you!!!
Always such great content!
Thanks!
Phil….you do one layer of csl or two?
Hi. Only one layer of CSL is needed. I talked to Gtechniq about that and they mentioned that putting two layers is redundant and it doesn’t make it better in anyway. Just wastes product. 😎👍🏼
@@MirandaDetailing thanks buddy!😁
How bad were the panel gaps on this? Whenever I see one in a parking lot, I am always shocked at how poorly built Teslas are.
Yeah the hood panel gaps were uneven.
2nd or maybe third, I love this channel. You guys have dumped so much knowledge on me about car care.
Thanks man! 😎👍🏼
Super video Thanks🎉🎉🎉🎉
Cool looking color. Cool video. Hi wife.
