      Let's start easy.
      10 x Topscorer. (Record)
      Most trophies.
Most MVP Awards (Finals + Season)
Most points per game in the finals.
Most points per game in the playoffs.
      Most points per game alltime.
The only player in 60 years with more than 3,000 points in a season.
Most efficient player (27,9)in the history.
      Plus 3x steal leader
The first and only one player with MVP, DPOY and top scorer in a season.
The only player (with Pippen as far as the pure 3-peats are concerned) ) with 2 x 3-peat + 6 Finals MVP.
      Second 3-peat= 2 x MVP, 3 x Finals MVP, 3x Topscorer, 3 x All- Defense Team without missing a single game.
      6:0 Finals win record
At the age of 35- NBA Champion, MVP, Finals MVP, Allstar Game MVP, All NBA First Team, All Defense First Team.
The only player (by a huge margin) who was top scorer 9 times and at the same time in the First All Defense Team.
All of this in 12 seasons with the Bulls (86'only a few games due to a serious injury + 95' very late comeback only a few games=which doesn't even add up to half a season)
When he played as pointguard in March-April 89' (test) = 7 triple doubles in a row, 10 triple doubles from 11 games ( 33,6 Points average, 10,8 Rebounds average, 11,4 Assists average), 15 triple doubles total, in a few weeks.
Now you can come with the state padder's 21 years, but don't forget...No. 1 in turnovers overall and on average( It's good that the referees don't whistle for his double-step errors...), one of the worst final win rates in history. 4 titles in 21 years, Run to other teams, pick out

One of my favorite things, Jordan hit the hard shot over Marion, I don’t think he fell to the ground, he didn’t try to get a foul called, and he runs back to the other side. In the all star game, no one is even expected to hustle and play D, and still, at the end, Jordan is running. That is one of the many things that makes him THE GOAT

  • @jcb4826
    @jcb4826 6 месяцев назад +73

What kills me about the whole "debate" is that we have film on every single game. I know it's not HD but it's not degraded black & white film either, and we have every stat recorded. It's not like stories you hear about Jack Johnson, Babe Ruth or Bruce Lee where you just have a very limited amount of grainy footage to go off of and just have to either believe whoever is telling you all these unbelievable things or not but Jordan's career is 100% verifiable and his case for the goat is undeniable.
You cannot make a valid case for anyone against Jordan's resume, eye test, per game stats or clutch, maybe one category but blown away at the rest. So all the "kings" men have to claim that chips and mvp's, per game and season stats don't matter because it's the total body of work and that everyone in the league before 2000 was a plumber and discredit the players from the era because that's all they've got.
Eye test Jordan's the goat with the second greatest dynasty ever, he was the best player on the greatest team ever assembled, he was the best player on the greatest NBA team ever, he's the greatest scorer ever, the greatest defensive guard, the biggest bag, the best finisher, the best midrange game, the most clutch and the greatest competitor ever. Compared to other shooting guards he's top 3 in every major statistical category, per game AND total, except for assists but he's 6th all time in that! Per game and career! No other player comes anywhere close to that at any position.
He's not just the GOAT of basketball he's the GOAT of sports period.

Ever heard of Don Bradman? Bradman was statistically almost twice as good as anyone else who has played his sport before or after him. Your long winded comment IS false and all you did was expose your lack of sporting knowledge full stop.

    • @jcb4826
      @jcb4826 6 месяцев назад

@@JamesSmith-c2b You think that was long winded? Go get a snack and a drink for this one.
So what was false about it other than your claim that a cricketer is the greatest sportsman ever or at least better than Jordan???
No, I haven't heard of Don Bradman but I looked him up. Interesting career but not without his own controversy taking a "duck?" on his last outing to keep his career batting percentage among other things. I ain't going to front, I don't know 💩 about cricket but when I look up, best cricketer, he gets some #1's but usually 2nd or 3rd to some other guys I've never heard of so he's not even cut and dry the best in his own sport. Now the best batter ever, he's got it every time. Cool.
Sounds like a legendary guy but we're talking about the best EVER! I looked up plenty of top sportsman of all time lists and he made a few. #29 out of 50 and 80 something out of 100. No top 10 or 25 lists but you know who was on top of all of them except 1? You guessed it, Michael Jordan and he was #2 on the one list he wasn't 1st and I looked at the first 7 or 8 that came up on my search. He's mixed in with people like Babe Ruth, Jim Thorpe and Ali, you know, people we've all heard of. It's not like I'm making some wild claim or anything and the more I study on it, the more I'm convinced it's true. You're the one who's just pulling some random mf'r out the hat and acting like "Don Bradman" is really someone to take serious when talking about the best ever in sports and acting like if I haven't heard of him then I don't know anything about sports. Lmao!!!!
I will acknowledge that maybe these lists don't take sports like crickets into consideration enough when making these lists and give US sports the most consideration but come on, what am I supposed to do? Your guy isn't even top 25 on anything or anything eye opening to deserve a deeper look so maybe you might need to reevaluate how much you think you know about sports?

Jordan is top three in almost every statistical category there is concerning the NBA not Cricket not bowling not Billiards not stamp collecting or butterfly catching or synchronized swimming but in the NBA basketball genre of professional sports as it relates to stat, the play of his game, his movement on the court as well as his off court ambassador-esque image. The writer says GOAT of ALL SPORTS as it pertains to thise metrics. if you have if you have any empirical information that will refute Jordan being top three in almost every stat known to NBA basketball then provide your evidence here otherwise reread what this guy is saying and govern your comments accordingly

Great work, Jonny! I especially like the first video. I think that a GOAT case can be made for several athletes - and the GOAT cases you made were all solid - but I agree that MJ is the GOAT. I had seen the Bobby Knight clip before, but not the clips with Isaiah or Magic. They're great. MJ is absolutely amazing - and it's incredible how he was called the greatest even before any getting any accolade. Will we see someone better than him in the future? Perhaps, but it'll be tough to surpass him.
Man, those who say they're "done with the 90s" and those who say MJ has no left hand annoy me too. The cherry picking is terrible. SMH. The compilation of mess-ups from today's NBA that you shared is hilarious - the music is perfect lol. Great way to show the ridiculousness of the cherry picking.
I love the video about MJ's last all-star game. It was incredible. Such an epic matchup - especially how MJ and Kobe gave it their all. I like the intensity that both brought - and how they both pushed their teams to play good defense. Truly a game to remember.
Last, but not least, I like what you said: "It takes a team to win in the NBA." I think that this is often forgotten - too often. I too dislike how it's used to argue that the 90s is a "weak era" - even though it's not. Each era has its strengths and weaknesses and there's much to enjoy in every era. Great job debunking the false narrative of the 90s being weak. Solid information about how each of the teams that the Bulls faced in the NBA Finals in the 90s were all solid.
Take care. Have a nice Sunday, Jonny! :]

He didn’t change his opinions on Jordan.
He’s always had the angst from the Dream Team.
But whenever Isiah talks about “basketball” he doesn’t change his opinion.
I wish Isiah wouldn’t have repeatedly addressed the “Dream Team “ issue. It has taken away from all the great things he’s ALWAYS said about MJ.
Unfortunately, it is the clips and hot takes about Isiah being left off the Dream Team, has fueled the narrative that Isiah hated Jordan.
      Anyway.
Isiah called Jokic’s run to greatness, before any one else.
Honestly, at the time I thought he was off, but what I’ve realized about Isiah is that he has a great basketball mind. The players he drafted (T.Mac) the players he encouraged and mentored early (Kevin Garnett)
If you really look for it, you won’t find too many videos where Isiah was disrespectful of Jordan.
Isiah is just the guy who everyone focuses on his failures, and it marginalizes all the great things he’s done, or in this case ~ the great things he’s said …
Pippen and Barkley’s issues with Jordan is personal and much of it has nothing to do with basketball.
FTR I will continue to say, it was wrong to leave Isiah off the Dream Team… that was personal from Jordan to Isiah, and Jordan personally denied Isiah that part of his legacy. Isiah never got to win a Gold medal, because of the 1980 boycott.
      Just my opinion.
I always supported Isiah, the first “small guy” to lead his team to multiple championships. Prior to Isiah Thomas, the best player in a championship team was never a small PG~
Even if you include the 70’s… Rick Barry, Dennis Johnson who were the best players on championship teams, they were bigger guards and forwards….
Something that is often missed when talking about basketball history.
Only Steph has matched that, and if not for KD, Steph probably doesn’t get more than the one championship.
Respect Isiah for being the greatest small guard to play in the NBA!

The three big attempted knocks on Jordan are the no left hand lie, the no real competition lie, and the terrible 3pt shooter lie.
Jordan had a very good left hand game. While it wasn’t as good as say Larry Bird, it was still solid. Part of the Pistons Jordan Rules tactics, were to meet him before the top of the key & force him left. He averaged 34 ppg against those pistons teams, so obviously it didn’t work.
The no competition lie is just hilarious. Dude played against some of the best of the best of the best. Magic, Bird, Malone, Drexler, Shaq, Robinson, Barkley, Penny, Olajuwon, Thomas, Ewing, Rodman, to name just some. These are HOF and top 50 player guys.
The 3pt one is also funny. He was just .04 under the league average during the regular season, but was at 40% during the playoffs/finals, when it REALLY mattered. He also only shot .75 threes per game on average, so he was still just slightly short of league average, while now even averaging 1 three per game.

MJ is the goat, he played vs beast like Hakeem, young shaq, mailman, robinson hitting him hard every night, not soft players like Joke etc who play zero D

I don't like Bobby Knight. But you have to respect his basketball knowledge. I believe what he said about MJ. 👍🏽💯

There have been other great athletes in the NBA, even better physically but they didn’t have it in between the ears to sustain and dominate like MJ. MJ worked out feverishly gaining muscle after Pistons beat him up in the postseason. Sacrificing some speed for strength and endurance. Haven’t seen anyone except maybe.the late Kobe that matches that intensity.

The problem with this younger generation is their inability to think objectively & critically, and lacking appreciation and respect. That's why they are unable to judge & make comparison without the need to downgrade something in order to uplift their own opinions/biases. They are quick to disregard and dismiss previous generations without taking the time to view previous generations objectively.
