Just got the fresh cut roses in a wax melt today. I’m usually not a rose person but it’s lovely! Definitely like a true real rose. I only had to pay 85¢ for the wax melt; and I remembered how much you loved this scent. I look forward to melting it, thanks Maven! 🌹🌹🌹
Great video! I’ve never had a problem returning candles at Yankee. They always do it for me no problem and apologize even though it’s obviously not their fault! Also, I’ve noticed that the throw of candles poured in 2020 is absolutely amazing and strong:)
Glad to see you doing a candle video again! That’s what got me started with you long ago! FYI, I have found the fall season Yankees to be pretty good strength wise, and the meltcups have always been great. But I certainly agree that the skinny labels are awful.

I am not buying Yankee Candles anymore - several people reported a stronger throw in the 2019 pours, but every one I got lately is virtually scentless. I have 2 burning here in my kitchen now and there is no smell from either one. The Goose Creek candle I have burning in my living room I can smell all through my house. I kept hoping Yankee would get it together but that is not the case.
Makes Me so sad Yankee isn’t what it used to be. Yankee is where I found my love for candles back in the 90s. Like you said one large jar would scent your entire home. My first and favorite fragrance from Yankee was Macintosh, being in Boston burning that candle always reminded me of the fall and apple picking. No it’s unscented so very sad. I haven’t shopped in a Yankee store in forever, as of late I’ve picked up my Yankees that I have found at TJ Maxx or marshalls. However I do have a few tried and trues. Lilac Blossoms ALWAYS throws. Green grass does good for me too. Country linen, Blue Hydrangea, and Rainbows end are great too but don’t believe they’re available anymore. I also recently burned Brown Paper packages, I liked it and could smell it BUT had to burn 2 large jars at once in my living room. You kno Yankee changes their labels and logo which we as consumers didn’t ask for. ALL we ask is add more damn oils to the candles!!i have been buying the Meltcups, I chop them up and put the wax in my regular old wax warmers n they perform great! I too prefer old labels
The first 2 numbers on the batch code on the bottom will tell you the year it was poured. From what I've heard, 2017 and 2018 were horrible years for strength of fragrance for Yankee and 2019 is much better. I also quit buying them because the large jars are the most efficient cost wise but take FOREVER to burn! The best Yankee I ever burned was Lakeside Birch. It was a crisp, fresh, clean laundry/cologne scent...SUPER strong throw! Out one season and never came back.

I love chocolate layer cake and it has a great throw. I agree with you though- I get tired of large jars and prefer smaller candles

I would say vanilla cupcake and fresh cut roses but overall I’d say Yankee Candles have weak throw compared to other companies like Bath & Body Works.

Yankee Candle's fragrance load is only 6% or 1 oz. per pound of wax. And some of them are even less, 4%. Pretty lame.
