Zorro is like the generic Cola. It's not Coke but it's Cola. Also they replicate the looks, design and material of Zippo. The Zorro name even sounds a tiny like Zippo.
Zorro has a variation of their lighter that has a rubber seal in the lid, which prevents a huge amount of evaporation over the typical Zippo style that's just open to the air. You can control how much it sparks by changing where your thumb is on the wheel. If it's on the top, that's full travel, if you put tlyour thumb on the side of the wheel then the travel is limited a lot and it will grind on the Flint less.

I spent $68 (it's price is now over $100) on a new Zippo Steam-Punk Armor-Series lighter that was shown on the pics on Amazon to have a brass insert, but mine came with just a regular silver insert. I contacted them and they refused to send me the correct brass insert and they said that I would just have to purchase the brass insert ($15) separately._ _Sure people can say how ZORRO "copied" Zippo's design, but Zippo has never tried to improve their design in 80+ yrs. The Zippo Armor Series are supposed to be built so much more heavy duty, but only weigh about 75g. The ZORRO War Armor series are 145g - 230g in weight. Plus the ZORRO War Armor series are o-ringed and waterproof._ _Every new Zippo feels like the hinge is half worn out, new. Every ZORRO War Armor hinge is precision machined and has no play at all. Point to point, ZORRO is the winner, penny to penny, ZIPPO is a loser. But for traditional sake, ZIPPO is still ZIPPO, just can't imagine American will pass a ZORRO lighter to their grandsons! Ha Ha!
Vigilante Driver That’s not the point they were making, it’s not the quality he is referring to. Zippo is very American, and it’s a part of our history. The military used them in WWII, and they are our classic. Any other brand just won’t have that history.
The Zorros with the machined hinges are just awesome. Zippo was good in the 90s. Quality was much higher than these days. But today Zippos are just fanboy sh*t.
Zippo's strategy is to never innovate and continue to produce lighters with poorly designed components. When it breaks after enough time, they'll replace it for free. It you look at the Zorros that have milled hinges and the features they have, their strategy seems to be to design it well enough that it probably won't break in the first place.
Id be inteested in trading for it if hes willing to do so, or Id buy it from him for the right price, if thats true send me a message if hes interested in selling or trading for it
It's like a brass color he doesn't use it he said it was his dad's my dad has a a deer handle case that was his dad but he keeps the light and a brass pocket watch in one of our wooden gun case where we keep some of our knifes
If Zippo is so obsessed with keeping it "original", then why did they change the insert design to being slightly slimmer with the ridges on both sides? It makes the insert fit looser and it sucks now. The older form-fitting inserts were so much better. Whatever manager approved of that change should be fired.

Zorro also has an insert with a solid metal gasket that fits in the bottom that is sealed with o-rings, and has a chimney cap on top that flips up when you flick the Flint wheel. I don't remember the name of the channel, I think it's Zippo fanatic 77 or something like that, but he's made a couple videos about the zorros and how much better they are than zippos
The zippo i carry everyday can be flicked open really eazy....then again i use if for everything and flick it around all the damn time.
Then again i am not the first owner of the two im looking at now.
As a Karombat trainer
but the loops of the hinge are the weak points anyway, not where its welded
I suspect that the giant shower of sparks eats up flints faster and the Zippo sparks are more than enough to ignite the fuel.
You can control how much it sparks by changing where your thumb is on the wheel. If it's on the top, that's full travel, if you put tlyour thumb on the side of the wheel then the travel is limited a lot and it will grind on the Flint less.
why did you mute at 8:50 is?
ish*
when my camera automatically splits videos into segments it cuts off audio for like half a second or something so it loses sound in between the cuts, I cant change that sometimes the video ends on the right spot so its not noticed other times it cuts right in the middle of me speaking
+cutlerylover that's a pretty shitty thing,if you were recording something important it would totally mess it up if it happens in the wrong time. What's the camera for further reference?
Honestly if zippo didn’t have its famous guarantee, I’d probably go with zoro
_4 months ago I cut all ties with Zippo after 35yrs of buying their products. I spent $68 (it's price is now over $100) on a new Zippo Steam-Punk Armor-Series lighter that was shown on the pics on Amazon to have a brass insert, but mine came with just a regular silver insert. I contacted them and they refused to send me the correct brass insert and they said that I would just have to purchase the brass insert ($15) separately._
_Sure people can say how ZORRO "copied" Zippo's design, but Zippo has never tried to improve their design in 80+ yrs. ZORRO has made leaps and bounds with the windproof chimney design that Zippo started. ZORRO's lift-arm style lighters hold fluid for months even when not used._
_It doesn't matter now, I now have 7 Lift-Arm style Zorros and 11 of the ZORRO WarArmor series in the models 912, 912S, 915S. To give ya an example of just how shamefully cheaply made the Zippos are. The regular Zippos are about 60-70g in weight. The Zippo Armor Series are supposed to be built so much more heavy duty, but only weigh about 75g. The ZORRO War Armor series are 145g - 230g in weight. Plus the ZORRO War Armor series are o-ringed and waterproof._
_Every new Zippo feels like the hinge is half worn out, new. Every ZORRO War Armor hinge is precision machined and has no play at all. The Zippo life time guarantee is great. But the ZORRO lighters (non War-Armor) are only $5 - $10 a piece through Ebuy7. So I can't justify spending 500% - 700% more for a lifetime guarantee._
@@warthief3401 I bought 5 of those regular ones with 5 sided laser etched Marlboro logos in different colors from ebuy7. www.ebuy7.com/item/602622182550
I bought this laser etched one and the black one for my wife and it's gorgeous in person. www.ebuy7.com/item/595791880468
I bought this one for my nieces birthday. The paint feels like Truck Bed-Liner material, really tough all the way around the whole lighter, unlike the cheap Zippo sticker decorations. www.ebuy7.com/item/616486365979
Shipping took longer but it was well worth it.
@@warthief3401 _Also be aware that something is going on with shipping and customs. These and some others that I've ordered have come disassembled and wrapped in aluminum foil and repackaged like they're having to fool the x-ray scanners. One store owner from AliExpres said it keeps them from being flagged and opened at customs and stolen, but some have gotten caught and their stores have been shut down. All the lighters were stiil in perfect condition when I received them._
@@warthief3401 _Not knowing what model numbers are in this guy's vid, I have know idea. Those in this vid are zippo copies._
Couldn't you just put a zippo insert into the zoro case
that's a really good idea I'm going to do that
joss zorro lighter and zippo lighter
Can you tell me which are the cheapest zorro model that's good?
Point to point, ZORRO is the winner, penny to penny, ZIPPO is a loser. But for traditional sake, ZIPPO is still ZIPPO, just can't imagine American will pass a ZORRO lighter to their grandsons! Ha Ha!
I think my two Zorro Lighters will last for decades. Mine are very well made.
Vigilante Driver That’s not the point they were making, it’s not the quality he is referring to. Zippo is very American, and it’s a part of our history. The military used them in WWII, and they are our classic. Any other brand just won’t have that history.
Eh, I just feel like zippo is going to turn into rolex. Not really contributing to innovation, but just turn into an expensive collectable.
The Zorros with the machined hinges are just awesome. Zippo was good in the 90s. Quality was much higher than these days. But today Zippos are just fanboy sh*t.
Yeah but nothing will ever beat the zippo warranty tho
Zippo's strategy is to never innovate and continue to produce lighters with poorly designed components. When it breaks after enough time, they'll replace it for free. It you look at the Zorros that have milled hinges and the features they have, their strategy seems to be to design it well enough that it probably won't break in the first place.

Is that The Shadow?
The reflexion?
I have to say that zorro is crazy good! i have zippos and i love them but zorro is so damn good and cheap!
The problem with these lighter is, the fluid leaks. Even at half full and it just smells.
my zippo is dead for years due to the worn out wheel , zorro here i come
If Zippo is so obsessed with keeping it "original", then why did they change the insert design to being slightly slimmer with the ridges on both sides? It makes the insert fit looser and it sucks now. The older form-fitting inserts were so much better. Whatever manager approved of that change should be fired.
