This is not a fake. A couple years ago zippo started making cheaper lighters for Walmart and other big box stores. The constatine one you have is one of these cheaper versions. Not as solid as ones you get at smoke shops but it is still a real zippo

The walmart lighters are matte black or chrome but other retailers sell engraved and screen printed zippos and they are made cheap. Way less quality than a zippo bought at a specialized smoke shop. I know I have bought a couple. And have sent them in to zippo when the hinge went bad. Zippo fixed them and sent them back to me without issue.

Now, for some of the more obvious points that should not be missed by a collector :)
    - the stamped letters on the fake insert are tilted in relation to each other, indicating that each letter was engraved by hand.
    - the fake insert has Bradford misspelled as Bradeord.
    - the date markings on the fake insert do not match the case (it's a possibility only for pre-owned models).

    • @Guggu3d

It's not uncommon to have two different date stamps, it happens in the factory and it is even said on the Zippo website.

Domestic companies? If another company can do something better or as good while being more than 70% to 80% cheaper for the consumer it's not a better choice? Domestic companies? Don't buy from Toyota, Honda, Dodge/Chrysler/RAM/Jeep, Samsung and the plethora of other companies. Using the "is it made in America" label isn't going to help your case. Many of these companies are owned by foreigners on foreign soil. Many of us do not want to buy any more fake Chinese shit! One of the main reasons that some of us like Zippos is that they are made in the USA. I for one am sick and fucking tired of China ripping off USA manufacturers.

Regardless alot of people are happy to get a cheap knockoff if it looks the same and does the same but alot of genuine people who choose to spend money on a decent product also like to know its the real deal the money is going towards to support the company.

It is honor, if product has fakes counterpart. Get this position, is very rare. Egonomically it is bad, if copy get too large slice of markets or ruin reputation. Otherwise it is free ad.
