in the uk you can now get tretinoin at 0.025 or 0.5 per cent at dermatica.com without presciption...and its way cheaper than some of the absurdly priced high end retinol products : 19.99
I live in Florida USA..i use Retin A all year even in the blazing heat and humidity....the humidity helps with the drying and flaking...i use a high spf..always.
This was the best retinol video!!! Love love love my Tretinoin so much and I never get tired of hearing the good it’s doing! Have a beautiful day love! You’re gorgeous!!😘😘😘
I know im randomly asking but does someone know a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
I have been using the Ordinary and I have great results. por sensitive skins or beginners it is best to start with the ordinary 2 % emulsion ( this is the equivalent of 0.2 % and it does not give you peeling) After one bottle you could move to granactive retinoid 2% in squalene...….. and after a while depending on how your skin is responding you can use the ordinary 1% or 5% granactive retinoid in squalene. This has work for me and my friends and we have not suffer irritation or bad peeling. the secret is to start we the lowest for of retinol. The ordinary give us so much choice of retinol and a great prices. their website explains how stronger is kind of retinol is for you to choose.
When it comes to “Retinols”, I’m not sure about “you get what you pay for” meaning the more expensive, the better. I lived in India 10 years ago, when I first discovered Vitamin A, and I used to buy Tretinoin cream at the pharmacy there for US$2,50, the same exact one I saw on videos on RUclips from American ladies, stating that it costed over US$100.
Thank you for this.I've suddenly gotten addicted to beauty videos. I've just splurged on a whole load on this rainy day, watching reviews of The Ordinary, when yours came up. Immediately you stand out as super intelligent and worldly wise. Whether it is from years of experience on the telly box, or your education. Anyway the difference between you and most other videos is profound.
I used the paulas choice retional 3 times and have had the worst blisters on my face. After 3 weeks my skins has scars all over the face. This stuff is so strong.
It shouldn't cause scars. Something is wrong if you are getting actual blisters and scars. You are meant to shed, that is normal. I wonder what percentage strength you were using?
I had to speed this up, which was quite funny at times, but very grateful for the information. One of the most informative I've come across.Thank you x
Im getting really good at reading backwards lol A really good informative video on the intricacies of using retinol. Im a big fan of The Ordinary and have been using their Granactive Retinoid 2% which is really good.
Differin over-the-counter US has been good in my anti aging. It took a couple of weeks before my neck could tolerate it. I use it on face and neck once a day at night. Paula's Choice !% retinol booster was effective for me.
Love your videos and I am not sure about the solution but I have had to learn to read reverse because the camera does this when you bring the product up for a close up
i always thought about the Lancome lady. how did she get her face to look like that? minimal understated and beautiful. guess who's like the lancome lady : Trinny!!!!!! 😶 thanks
I had my Pharmacist in Italy to concoct 1% RetinA acid in my favourite Collagen serum, he makes that too, and I am loving it.. though today is one of those shedding days..I look and feel like an onion. Jokes apart I have been on it for two years now and no more monthly zits and flaking aside my skin looks and feels amazing!
What I find disappointing is the constant statement "the yellow color shows the consumer it's retinol". Well listed in the ingredients is Yellow Color Dye! Which tells me not so sure about the efficacy of the retinol.
Hi Tinny. Which Retinol would you recommend for aging skin (I am 45) and not necessarily for acne? I am a bit unclear which is good for acne and which for rejuvenation? Thanks
Some people, as you mentioned, say it thins your skin. Would that be a bad thing in terms of wrinkles? Also, does your skin get used to it in a way that you stop having good results?
It thins the upper layer but thickens the lower and therefore great for wrinkles. For skin getting used to it , is that it stops peeling. I started using tretinoin a few months ago and don’t think I’ll ever stop using it.
It "dissolves" the dead upper layer of skin, but actually thickens the skin. Its the ONLY topical thing that works to put on your skin for lines etc. It never stops working...there is a woman on RUclips , her channel is melissa55, she is 61 and been using Retin a aka Tretinoin for over 28 years and her skin is amazing, not a line, just beautiful. Also, if you look on the web, you can get it for under £15 delivered and its brilliant!
@@hildurhalldorsdottir3514 Thank you! For wrinkles, does it matter which one to use, the strong one or the kind that is used in facial creams? When it doesn't make your skin peel, does it mean it won't be as effective on wrinkles?
@@strawberrycupcake4471 thank you! For wrinkles, does it matter if it's the strong one or the kind that is used in facial creams? When it doesn't make your skin peel does it mean it won't be as effective with wrinkles?
It depends on your age I think, if you are 25-35, then choose lower strength. I use the tretinoin gel, highest percentage and it is great. Peeling is good, but just wiping with a cotton pad will give you a exfoliation, albeit a mini one! but clear the dead cells and apply. The Roc one I use is amazing, I use it on the 3 night I am not using tretinoin and I also use vitamin c with hyaluronic acid which is amazing as well. You will see a difference in the tretinoin more than any other. x
The only difficulty I see with this video is if you are using a mirror, the labels show up backwards. Thanks though for the lowdown on the types of vitamin A's out there.
Trinny, may I kindly ask you to convey your ideas on Vitamin A products' topical usage by smokers. I have read about some clinical trials that have had some unwanted outcomes, to say the least. I am a veterinarian, but also have worked in human clinical trials for 10 years, so I doubted that something that you put on your face, could be absorbed enough to give you lung cancer. However, the trials were closed off, following some volunteers, who were smokers, developed lung cancer. The tested drug was topical tretinoin by the way. It is not clearly known, if these volunteers would have developed this, without the usage of tretinoin, but the incidences were more than the control group. There are also some medical opinions that smokers should not use Vitamin A supplements as well. I really do not wish to bore anyone with the details here, but these can be found on PubMed, so it's not a hoax. The correlation cannot be explained clearly. I was wondering if you have spoken to a doctor about these safety issues.
Thanks Trinny. I like your jacket. Zara? Or Massimo Dutti? I use Tretenoin in Spain. It's not a prescription drug here but I always put it on a dry skin. I've used it for maybe 18 months I started on a higher percentage but went down to 0,025. I must change soon!
Hi trinny your have you done a review on led proton face masks , there are so many out there from £20 to £1000 , iv been looking at reviews , but I trust you honesty , take care darling , isabel
I have bought my retin-a (Retirides) in Spain at a normal pharmacy, I started at 0,025% once a week in April and use it now 4 times a week - no side effects and only costs around 15€
I wish I could get past the awful and flaky stage. I tried the Paula’s Choice due to a recommendation and I eased in so slowly and it made me look like a zombie. I have yet to find one that is effective that doesn’t have that dreadful flaky/red/dry stage. I don’t have the time to look like shit for 12 weeks.
Sunny W. I would suggest trying the SkinMedica .25 retinol - I’ve found it both effective and surprisingly gentle. One pump used every three days to start and after a month my forehead lines looked so much better.
Very interesting and thank you for the vid; But = MG...You are so lucky Trinny, when I used 0.5% retinol My skin was bright red for hours, it peeled the next day, it remained tight and dry and took 4days to stop peeling. It was the most miserable experience of my life re skin care. I can only use 5% in Squalane or Emulsion base.
@Heather Boughton You have to start slowly i.e. twice a week for 4-6 weeks and then add an extra day for another 6 weeks etc. Vitamin A gives amazing results but it is a marathon, not a sprint. If you have never used retinoid then start with retinol and move onto retin-A (tretinoin) after a year or so. Alternatively start with 0.025% tretinoin first. It is worth it. It took me 1.5years to work up to every night usage (0.05)
Used it for years moved upto retrive retinod love it use it on damp skin now for deeper penetration with a great mostrizer on top .still looking for good vitaminc and allso use nicinamide serum on top sometimes
Thank you Trinny🙏🏾😊💞 very usefull video👍🏾 I have been using a cream (vitamin A) called The Super3 Booster from the Danish skincare company Beauté Pacifique for a period of 5 years and still find it hard to get use to - still only using it every other night to avoid irritation. Maybe I’m just not cut out for using vitamin A... Any thoughts and imputs will be valued🙏🏾❤️
The most confused and confusing video about Retin A and retinol ever. Pls make your way Mrs Ginger, Dr Dray and Hot and Flashy who explain really well the difference between the two. Very poorly researched video. Btw Retin A is not over the counter in France but it’s over the counter in Spain, Turkey and India where its very cheap sold under the generic name of Tretinoin. In the U.K. you can get it from dermatica.com for £19.99. Differin is available in the U.K. from Boots pharmacy online. You don’t get what you pay for as far as Retin A is concerned. Tretinoin (Retin A) and retinol are two different ingredients.

No but there is a link that can direct you to Julia Hunters page in the relevant blog x

me too! Love it so I'm thinking of going up to the next level!!
Trinny, why not use the Julia Hunter combo all year round instead of in 8 week stints?
I use Julia Hunter throughout the year but not everyday, only when my skin needs it x

What about using acids and retinols together?
