Foo Fighters are the "Last Great Rock Band", and recently suffered an unimaginable tragedy when their long-time drummer, Taylor Hawkins, died suddenly at the age of 50 while they were in Colombia for a show. Dave Grohl, who was the drummer for Nirvana, started this band after Kurt Cobain killed himself in 1994. Grohl is a genius songwriter and their entire catalog is chock full of amazing songs, and not just the "hits", of which there are MANY! Do more. Try Best of You, which is an amazing song that was covered in part by Prince in his Super Bowl halftime show in '07. Also do The Pretender, but make sure you watch the official video, not just the lyrics vid. Enjoy your reax guys, keep it up and good luck!

You really should check out Best of You by them, the live from Wembley Stadium tour, there is a great moment in there between Dave and Taylor.

I was 4 weeks from seeing the FF in concert in Charlotte when Taylor passed away. I'm a huge Taylor fan but looking forward to hearing Josh play the FF set. He's a beast of a drummer playing on hundreds of recorded songs. I've seen some videos of him playing with them & his tempo gives them a run for their money. He's like a human metronome. 😂

Yeah......I had a lot od ideas about what he could be singing about. There's an interview where Dave reveals the meaning. It's not what you think but as soon as you hear his explanation the lyrics jump out at you
Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters wrote the songs on this record 'One by one' after the end of his relationship w/ Louise Post (lead singer of the band Veruca Salt) and the start of his relationship w/ his wife Jordyn, whom he married in 2003... so the lyrics had a lot of heartbreak and hope... It became one of Foo Fighters' biggest records in 2002.
You REALLY need to watch the video. It's awesome and makes the song even more impactful!
YES! Foo Fighters! I saw them in '96 and again in '98 - they put on a great show.
FYI - Dave Grohl (lead singer) - was the drummer in Nirvana and started Foo Fighters after Kurt Cobain died.
Foo Fighters should always be watched live! This one from live at Wembley is magical. And the song is absolutely about what she had in her head in the beginning (sex).

LOVE the Foos! One of my favorite bands. But now it makes me sad, especially for Dave. He's now associated with two highly prominent deaths in bands he's been in. RIP Taylor Hawkins (and Kurt of course). Glad to see the Foos are coming back with a couple of tribute concerts in Taylor's memory.

Definitely my fave Rock and Roll band of the past 30 or so years. Their albums are chocka-block Full of great tunes, not just one or two gooduns’.
Kurt Cobain was cool, but Grohl has blossomed and shone after Nirvana and Foo Fighters is a better band. 👍🤘

I always took it that this song was about different forms of fame. First was the fame of Nirvana, then Kurt dies and brings on a different kind of fame. On to the next one, Foo Fighters. Now Taylor is gone and he will have to move on to whatever the next one will be.
