Mine was Monkey Wrench when I played it in Guitar Hero 2
I'm almost 65 years old....raised on soul music and rock...as an adult I mostly listened to blues and anything with a jazz feel...but the Foo Fighters are one of the best,tightest, socially aware bands ever...hard to pick a favorite song of theirs.
Amazing band!!!!! Dave was devastated when Kurt died but he was able to pull himself up and make some GREAT music. I dont know if we would have ever realized how truly talented he is if he never went out on his own
I loved Kurt Cobain, but his heroin addiction was a toxic situation that interfered with the band and I think Dave would've left within a couple of years even if Kurt had lived.
@@dclogger same. Nirvana probably wouldn't have lasted too much longer If Kurt lived. Creative differences eventually would have put them on separate paths I think.

I disagree to an extent, as, from what I've read, Kurt was excited about some of Dave's songs - these eventually ended up on the first FF album, but could've been Nirvana songs if things went differently. Also awful timing from myself to comment, after Taylor's passing

Easily the best band I’ve ever seen live. They are incredible a shame their drummer just passed. Walk is another incredible song by them. My favorite song ever.
Apparently some of the motivation for this song was his kids. He’s always been a rock rebel, but this song asks the questions of what happens if nothing changes and his kids need to take up the fight, he’s asking the question “what if” on their behalf

One of my all time faves and though this came out several years ago damned if it doesn't express protests like BLM to what's happening now with Ukraine resisting the Russian invasion. Universal song about fighting malignant authority, and I know Dave Grohl would join all of us in hoping and praying that the brave Ukrainians will kick some Russian butt. 💯💯🙏🏽🙏🏽

One of the greatest bands of all times!!! He writes the songs & music, he is a true master but couldn't do it without the other band members. Dave is also a master drummer & Tyler is also a great drummer.

You should actually listen to the real PRETENDERS with Chrissie Hyde - icon and rock n roll hall of fame member. For good reason. One of the orignals who started the NEW WAVE movement, icon - try ANYTHING from the first album. Classic gold.
"Hymn to Her" is still my favorite Pretenders song, but they have a ton of greats. Chrissie rocks!

Hardcore song. Be yourself. Don’t buy into other peoples’ ideas of who/how you should be. Be principled; stand up for your morals and yourself. Be steadfast in everything. I like how The Foo Fighters ramped it up to an extreme level to make their point. Age has taught me how critical it is to stand up and be who you are. No need to defend who/how you are. No apologies. Our skin gets thinker against criticism and we are more comfortable in it.

There's also another artist who has a song called The Pretender, Jackson Browne, I definitely suggest giving it a listen, it's a song about the working man's heart.
Half of Nirvana is in this band, Dave Grohl AND Pat Smear.
Nobody ever mentions poor Pat and the dude is a rock-n-roll veteran.
He used to be in the legendary LA punk scene band The Germs.
Pat really didn't have any influence on any of the albums so far as I can recall. He was well liked and a positive influence on a band that was headed downhill with Kurt's heroin addiction.
Do yourselves a favor and see these guys live sometime.... they're always touring!

My hero is another good foo song
Dave Grohl is the dude. He may be the last world renown rock star in the world. His drummer, Taylor Hawkins, got his big break drumming for Alanis Morissette. It may not be their biggest hit but I think Big Me or Aurora are two great Foo Fighters songs to check out. I think Aurora is one of the most beautiful rock songs ever.
Even reacting to Dave telling stories is a trip. He did a fun interview with Desus and Mero where he talked about meeting Little Richard and jamming with Prince in an empty LA Forum.

You guys should do Jinjer, home back. It was wrote before the escalation of the Ukraine situation. The members of the band fled the war zone in 2014 to live in Kiev.
Kiev is not safe anymore and I can't imagine what these poor people are going through.

But, you know, everyone's been f'd over before and I think a lot of people feel f'd over right now and they're not getting what they were promised, and so something to do with that."
And while this song was released in 2007, it resonates today, and sadly, it will likely still resonate in 100 years.
I had no time for Nirvana to be honest but since Dave took over The Foo Fighters are my favorite band still going.

I have been a fan of Dave Grohl since Nirvana, Foo Fighters are my absolute favorite. You can't go wrong with anything they do. I personally prefer disc 2 of their 'In Your Honor album'. But your not gonna find any videos, just songs.
You should react to a song called "come alive", guys. It's a song from this same album but it's kinda different from what we're used to hear from them. Beautiful song, meaningful, strong and brings us all some hope to keeping up on this tough days that we've been through. That being said, great video. Thanks for that. Greetings from Brazil.
