    Really succinct summary of the most popular notetaking apps on the ipad! i might just have to get Notability after this; its audio function sounds amazing! hope you see more videos from you

      Thank you! My schedule has been messed up since graduating med school, but thank you for the motivation I need to continue!
      Also notability turned into a subscription app so try CollaNote! It’s free and very similar to notability with audio capabilities as well!

    Really nice and in-depth.
    I use same kinda workflow, but instead of notability, I use FLEXCIL to make notes out of pdf coz it has linking feature just like liquidtext
    GoodNotes mainly for presentation and to teach in lecture.
    LiquidText for research and keeping everything (linked) at one workspace.
    You should create more videos around education and how you manage stuff. Sort of a vlog kind of thing where u show what u studied and how u used paperless approach.

    I've tried these apps while my studies in USA. Notability works seamlessly on apple apps and supports the apple pencils but lacks some flexibility versus goodnotes in terms of customizing how you do your work and interface. Goodnotes is so good at organizing your "books" and works with most 3rd party pens such as wacom styluses.

    Hey great video. In liquid Text, it looks like you have a whole ebook with page numbers loaded up, how did you do that? Even if i convert an epub into PDF it screws the formatting up and the page numbers don't match.. Thanks for the help!

    • @urboytgd
      @urboytgd  2 года назад

      Most of the time I import pdfs as is and don’t do any conversion. Also, the page numbers in the app are still not aligned with the page numbers in the book (mainly because they count the cover page as a page in itself)

      If it’s anything similar to khan academy where the teacher seems to be talking and writing stuff at the same time. They probably do it on a computer with screen recording on, some program to draw on, and either a mouse or graphic tablet.

    I have tested GoodNotes but still prefer Notability because it can handle typed text much better. I prefer typing for notes.
    LiquidText is great! But I have found MarginNote and it has in addition to the mindmap also outlines and a flashcard feature that is (I think) more useful than GoodNotes flashcards. I like the structured form of outlines for notes.
    There is only one drawback. MarginNote stores the annotations in its own format. You can export the pdf or ebook with MarginNote’s annotations but it is only a flat pdf and the size is hugely increased.
    I have read that LiquidText is storing the annotations in the original PDF and every PDF reader/editor can use them. That is an advantage that I would like to test.

    • @urboytgd
      @urboytgd  3 года назад

      Oh! I didn’t know margin note had a flash card feature…!!!
      And Yes I can confirm that when you export in liquid text, you can compose as pdf which includes your annotations built in at pretty much the same file size as the original pdf.
      You could also export your notes outline separately. Or the liquid text format which includes both pdf and outline but only opens in liquid text.
