Some drummers keep time and others play the drums like they are a musical instrument.
Dale's the most underrated drummer in rock
bongeggs most definitely so. He’s a monster drummer and precise at the same time.
@@bongeggs ...until someone hears him.
Thats not logical... Keeping time (rhythmic consistency) is the main element of all music... Danny Carey is one of the greatest, most melodic drummers out there, and he has damn near perfect time.
@@craigdamage hell yes, I've known him since 1983
The world does not deserve Melvins.
Man i fucking love these guys they never cease to write the most badass, speaker blowing, slow and churning god damn makes you feel like you could bite a piece of 2 inch rebar in half and break down a wall with your own head heavy as hell music i discovered them when i was 14 iam now 37 ive liked everything even the acoustic album and the melvins with jello biafra they helped me find my own musical style on the guitar its ok to write how i feel and get my point across much respect to the melvins.
Respect the man, obey the hair!
Morten Middelthon
u betcha!
YAAAAAAASSSSSSSZZZZZZZZZ!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;
I didn't expect to like it. Not even a little bit. But I do.
I figured being if it were hot out... The Melvins would have some..... COLD GIN !!!🤐😝
the shit you find on a sunday morning
@1:25 The way The Beatles used to shake their heads back in the day on stage. Lmao!
Buzz is such a rad drummer. It isn't any wonder Kurt liked his drumming.
2:29 You can like SEE how hard it rocks!
Steven McDonald is Mitch Kramer all grown up.....
Does anyone know the size of his bass drum?
Looks like a 14x18
Herr Buttersson Thank you. The size is deceiving but not the sound. 👏👏
I give mad props to Buzz for keeping that cut all these years, sickass guy.
Oh yeah, good old Buzz. Buzz the drummer :-)
an area requiring no thoughts which is inexpensive as a non-calorie burner
It also serves to hide that potato-sized mole growing out of the top of his head
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
He went full Danzig at the start there
Here is a band which is credited for the development of both Grunge and Sludge Metal. In case you don't know them, they are the great Melvins!
Buzz is a great drummer, even with his new haircut.
Buzz is the singer/guitarist
@@janarnold5569 whoosh
If you saute the onions, deglaze with white wine, add the milk (or cream), allow to reduce, add some spices and maybe some cheese you can actually make a delicious sauce.
@Dixie Normous mmmmmmmmmmmm
I love this response 😂
What spices should I add? I think I'm actually gonna make this sauce 😂. It sounds good!
You gomna deglaze that fuckin pan?
@@amateurastronaut5006fresh garlic and cracked black pepper
The title of this song just makes me think of Napoleon Dynamite where he tastes the milk and he said it tastes like the cow got into an onion patch
Evan Drane Who is Napoleon Dynamite?
@@ksylo4805 If you're being real I'll tell you. It's a movie. And the main character's name. Great quirky movie!
Hahahahaha
lol
Such a good Melvins!!! It's like 3 kids that all learned how to ride wheelies on their bmx's and spend the day riding together in a tiny parking lot.
You put a “huh!” smile on my face with that comment. Well f’ing said my friend. They’re definitely drinking from the hose after this sesh.
"This is Dale, I'm Buzz"
lol
lies
I’m glad I’m not the only one who caught that...
@@dimitrilee333 me too
Steve's anti-solo is so ridiculous it's genius
What was “anti” about that?
ADT2695 he means it wasn’t some 15note per second highly technical run through of a scale for 5 minutes ,which Steve is of course capable of as a professional musician, but with the timing and notes he used he gave it a slightly “dirty” or ”sludgy” feel to it
+Trey. That’s what I had figured he meant.
@@ADT2695 i wanna com at the beat am a comma
FUCKING. SPECTACULAR. Also, Steve from Redd Kross still looks like he's 20.
Lots of youth spunken cream and spunken is stinky but nice
That new bass player's a freakin weirdo! lol, fits right in with the Melvins.
and he's good !
You love she spunken bass
Check out OFF! Keith Morris' band he also play bass in them, or guitar I can't remember I'm gonna go refresh myself
well, the tradition goes on.
It took them decades to go from a garage band to a van band......

I became a Melvins fan this year... how the F did i miss these guys! They are one of the best i've heard.
Check out "A history of bad men" and "The bit". Those are some heavy ones by them. Melvins forever🤟🔥🤟
53yrs just started checking out this band.... WTF THEY ARE F
AWESOME!!!!!
I'm 51, only discovered these guys a few months ago
I love Steven McDonald! He's an incredible bassist and he has such great emotion and energy! I hope he stays in The Melvins forever!
I agree with you. He is animated live fun to watch and rocks out.
I just wanted to write the same!
Yeah, okay...but it wont happen. They gone through some of the best that rock could ever offer up. I thought I heard they were actually touring with two now...Macdonald and Pinkus.
angus2016young saw them the other day with both pinkus and Steve
It’s was fucjing g gooood
angus2016young yeah hes like the hype man
This is how it works kids. Small drum kit big sound. ...
Like portnoy?
As Steve Albini di since 1992
2:13 buzz helping dale out with his cymbal is the highlight for me
I dream in wings of yesterday
Divide it seem to float on a line
Don't mean to be so in deep
My baby walks it twist and turn
Black lady lady sleep or ride?
She lay and paint up every night
The walls are always here me
And never hardly hear me
I hold the forward drone
It makes me right
The wheels are always near
And twist and turn like baby
"Tastes like the cow got into an onion patch..."
Napolean
for some reason I couldn't stop watching!
Melvins have that affect on people, completely understandable.
hahaha me too... couldn't turn it off....
I'm not a musician, and couldn't play an instrument because I'm un-teachable. So, musicians if I'm wrong I apologize. But, all of the Melvins' songs I've listened to, seem so complex in a good way! I'm just sad that I didn't learn about this band until this year. And King Buzzo's hair kicks ass!
Dale looks like a lost Odenkirk brother
Steve McDonald is either a god or just a really rad dude
Coda Girvan the GOD is dale crover
It turns out Mitch Hedberg faked his own death to join the witness protection program as "Steve McDonald".
He seems to be sticking around longer than the average Melvins bass player so good for him.
Agreed, 100%. I really dig his playing (particularly his tone), but he also brings some animated showmanship (old school rock n' roller with class clown mischief), which I think makes for a welcome counterbalance to Buzz's more brooding presence. (Buzz is actually a pretty funny guy in interviews, a quality that seems lost when he's deep in the music groove.)
I love these rainy Pacific northwest guys, but a throwing in a bit of so-Cal surfer dude makes the whole package more compelling.
He both
Love love love these guys buy really seriously want to get props the bass player I feel like he totally takes the song to another level I love it I love everything about all this
Man I love to see bass played like that: heavy and emotional, and going it's own way. Great recording, great performance.
Onion Sauce
1 large onion, chopped into small pieces
300ml (1/2 pint) milk
1 heaped teaspoon Dijon mustard
30g (1 oz) butter
1 tablespoon cornflour
salt (if required to taste)
black pepper
i would love to see a primus/melvins colaboration
Patricia Shope fucking same dude, can we add Tool too
word
Tool n Melvin's has been done alrdy
Les Claypool/Melvins album needs to happen!
omg. that would be MENTAL !
Steve is 50???? Holy hell.
If you record your first album at age 11, you might stay young forever. That's the lesson :D
I just want to play for the Melvin's. it's my dream
Mate I don't need to practice If buzz called me tomorrow id be ready to play
Dale Crover is such a beast on the drums. Melvins always satisfy.
And... That my friends, is how to play the Bass Guitar!!!
This is the best recorded version of this song.
Prove me wrong.
No doubt
Nice greetings from ecuador......... fuck yeahh
Steve is a great addition to the band. Quirky and talented
Hard Rock Jazz what else can one say ... Fantastic dudes
Buzz is seriously becoming the Oogie Boogie man from the nightmare before Christmas.
Milkvins
Buzz, Dale, and Steve. Where's Melvin?
Buzz flexing on bald guys! Rightly so!
Steve's character really compliments the band well. I think they needed a full goof. His posing is awesome!
Melvins is a nice band. I think I like them.
They are so wholesome. Bring them home to meet mom and dad. Stay for dinner. Then go upstairs and trash your room.
steve actually fits melvins better than the others that have played lol
It's a freakin' crime that I've missed these guys all these years. True artists are never really appreciated. Love it!
I came to them late too - tbh they don't want the recognition, they just love playing and making music. Try and see them live, but take ear protection; loudest band I've seen!! \m/
ear protection is must, great live band
"Do you feel like Townshend at Woodstock?"
The exact reason I want a SG with P90's
It def is a great look looking (and sounding) guitar.
A TASTE of Rock'n'Roll by the Best Band ... ever.
MELVINS.
Love from Portugal.
My favorite band!
This is fukn MELVINS!!!! Lessons to be learned
A mix of the best rock around and stand-up comedy ......ladies and gentlemen....the melvins
If I could have one musician for my band, it'd be Dale Crover.
i like how Buzz doesn't need to play the Clown at any moment
he is perpetually into his Sludge Doom metal expression like
yeah i wish i could a palmer hair style on top of that..
is cool to also see him with some SG power
too bad it didn't had Humbuckers
god SG without Humbuckers is just
there is just something so WRONG about that
Wow fucking great.
I thought the audio was great. I like this one a lot.
I just wanted to come back and note how amazingly heavy this performance is.
I just saw them live at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston (8.2.2017) and it was phenomenal. An amazing experience I will never forget.
That uncertainty of the first laugh cracks me up.
Im going through my melvins phase.
It never ended for me 😂
why is the guitar mixed so quietly?
That's what happens when you scoop the mids.
That's just how Melvin's works
because the guy is horrible playing, so it’s better to distort the bass
@@alejandromoro buzzo is an incredible guitarist what do you mean?
@@jackburton3540 i mean that is HORRIBLE! guitar player, if he's good never shows it. Not even 1 note in scale, nothings. The best thing he did was to introduce Dave Grohl to Nirvana, and thanks for that of course
This band kicks ass.
Tis is my first time listen to Melvins. Well there is someone loves this band so much.. so i try to give a peek.. and hah, this band is cool!
I've been watching this session for the past 4 years and the intro never gets old.

If I could form a supergroup that I could jam with it would consist of these guys, Soundgarden with Chris, Fugazi, Black Flag with Rollins, Dave Mustaine, Kurdt Vanderhoof,
Victor Wooten, and Leslie West. We'd call it the Other Other Clash.
Im the luuckyEST fella on the planet..have a music addiction and just tripped over the melvins last month
i knew this band after watching uncle grandpa
thanks uncle g
Fuckin' A
damn that drummer is just killer!
The little dance at 1:25 is top tier
This whole Melvins Jam In The Van is the best of their performances excepting Night Goat 'Perfect Quality'
I don’t believe it, but the title mirrors a quote from a 1930s young adult memoir titled “The Bulls and the Bees” and “The Worldly Adventures of a Teenage Tycoon.”
Uncle Rico's Football Camp / Throwing Footballs Over Mountains Since 1982
These guys take some intricate s**t and make it look like they're just screwing around. Frickin awesome!
Holy fuck this bass performance is godly. The Whole band is exceptional but Steve particularly crushes it
Fuck man, without these guys we probably wouldn't have C.O.C, clutch, the sword and a whole host of other stoner metal bands. These guys are total bad asses
I've never listened to these guys before and I can instantly hear their influence on Deftones, musically at least.
Skylar Tucker weird, I love deftones and the melvins but I’ve never heard any similarities.
@@MrSnuffian perhaps it's just me! Something gave me a Deftones vibe, I'm not sure!!
@@MrSnuffian going back and listening again, I think it's the rather intricate drumming and the muddy guitar tone. So, traits that aren't necessarily unique, but crossed my mind nonetheless.
The Melvins without Steve stink but he also makes them soo much better that I forget that hahahahahaha how good can one guy be get with bucket head and play Disney Land on acid I want front row coming up with the gig..
Dirty, Scummy, Trashy, Sinister...Perfect!!! Love the Gene Simmons bass tone around 3:17!🤘
this guy super great drummer 30 years the first time i hear about melvins still be one of my fave ones
Anyone know why theres dead spots in youtube vids now??? Way to wreck the relaxation.
siiiiiiiicccccckkkkkkkkk...Dale Crover plays metal like a jazz drummer....
The thing is. old people are great, but at certain point you gotta walk away. Go out on top. Don't milk that shit til you die.
Thais guys each one more time are most strong .Grunge no.The Melvins yeah.True fortunate sons.
Powerful and heavenly músico for this Young doomers.
Feels like the 90s never left me, and never will
These guys never disapoint!!!
most important bass solo of 2017!!!!!!!!
what's up with Gibson and epiphone making giant headstocks on there basses?
A masterclass in drumming.
One of the greatest ever!
Dale isn't even on another level, he's from out of this world.
