- Reviewing Xiaomi's Redmi Pad Pro 2024, an Android tablet that boasts premium features like a crisp 120Hz display and quad speaker setup for a price that won't pummel your budget. I've been testing the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro for a week so here's my verdict on the gaming performance, battery life and beyond. It's a cracker for students, families and anyone who doesn't want to make sacrifices to trim that price.
Check out my reviews of the best budget Android tablets of 2024 right here on Tech Spurt!
If you fancy some multi-tasking on the move, the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro offers the usual split-screen action as well as floating windows. You can connect this tablet to your Xiaomi phone as well, to share that screen, files and notifications.
Gamers can actually play the likes of Genshin Impact with a reasonably smooth frame rate on higher graphics settings, thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7S Gen 2 chipset. Movies look sharp and slick on the Redmi Pad Pro's LCD screen with Dolby Vision support. And there's a quad speaker setup so this tablet spaffs out some serious audio.
I've also been testing the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro's keyboard dock and stylus pen (although I have zero artistic abilities).

Just for info here: RUclips does not allow floating windows now because it has become their premium feature. In xiaomi, there was a feature to play video sound without the video actually playing or having the screen off. Unfortunately, that also has been removed as youtube introduced it to one of their paid features
iPad allow RUclips in floating window
Apple is trash @@ahmedatef-gy8mb
Motorola handle it just fine mate for free
Floating window was always yt's premium feature.U could say they noticed recently that OEMs were providing that feature for free
@@ahmedatef-gy8mb samsung also does it, wierd that xiaomi doesn't
After i got my oneplus 12 i didnt get any more vids in my recommended i missed you man
Dolby vision support for netflix the best highlight for this budget tablet
Can you do a comparison video between REDMI Pad Pro vs "MI Pad 6"?
Does it suffer from PWm flicker and temporal dithering? It was mentioned it has 12bit screen. Is it real 12 bit or 10+2 as usual?
Hello sir, which tablet would you recommend for gaming and watching shows in the train? Lenovo P12 or the Redmi Pad Pro?
rear camera useful for the occasional scan of invoices/ receipts, although personally i'd use my pnone.
i hope there is a comparison redmi pad pro and pad 6
That headphone jack is very tempting, might snag this one
That's what I'm thinking 😂
Price & Specs are really good too!
Bet you don’t
@@felix_five Hp jack sells it for me, i just broke my samsung S6 lite for the first time officially the screen died and i need a tablet that has actually decent ram and a modern SOC w/ headphones jack and this seems to check all the boxes. Between this and the Poco pad, i just gotta find a place to buy them.
So wait is over, thanks for uploading, very important question here, can we connect this tablets to projector or another monitor? I mean what about video out option?
No se puede
@@666Darkism ohh i see.thanks..then .i will go for Honor Pad 9 ..
honor pad 9 has same price, same specs n can be easily connect to diffferent devices for video out
Where do you get your wallpapers from? Just got mine and would like to have that one.
Has it got screen protector on it
can xiaomi 12 pro match with this redmi pad pro for xiaomi interconnectivity ?
Had a Xiaomi notification yesterday for this. We bought the Xiaomi Pad 6 a couple of months ago. We were under the impression there was a keyboard case available for it as one was initially advertised with it. Imagine our surprise when this magically disappeared. Xiaomi has been evasive as to why this happened and no mention as to whether the dock will come back.
Point being. If this gets a keyboard, where's the "6" keyboard gone.
Damn scummy of Xiaomi. Glad i got the keyboard case/dock before they took it down
@@skyMcWeeds Cheers! I didn't imagine it then! Is it any good?
@@PaddyWV its decent for the price works fine for productivity. its not on par with the samsung and ipad keyboards but that's to be expected of such an affordable keyboard case.
I can buy two different official keyboard cases here in NL. With and without trackpad.
Would love to see you cover video editing capabilities on your tablet reviews eg using capcut etc to test any lagging with scrubbing etc and export times
That actually is a very decent one, that headphone jack, the SD card, and the dexent 12-inch display is a very tempting one. This is the new budget king of the tablets.
You might need to look up the stylus for latency and battery life, but this is an amazing deal
2 years of Android updates is a bag of shit when people keep their tablets way longer than they do with their smartphones.
I'm seriously on the fence about buying this bugger now.
Are there other tablets that give better OS updates for the same price? Please let me know.
Good review, man! It's nice too see a pro version with the 3.5m audio
jack.
This one or the Xiaomi Pad 6?
Does it have USB video out?
Are your hand huge? or you're just angry to see me?
Does it use Sim card ??
The Redmi Pad Pro doesn't have Workstation Mode?
Xiaomi 2nd gen smart pen has 4096 level pressure sensitivity which is better for drawing and sketching but is this tablet good or best for taking notes in notes app, does it have inbuilt note taking app?
Yes
does redmi pad pro/ poco pad smart pen support palm rejection please help?
What I really want to know is if that stylus works with the other Xiaomi pads.
does the pen has palm rejection feature?
@techspurt If given the choice between the Honor Pad 9 and the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro 8Gb + 256GB which are on special at the same price currently. Which one do you recommend for general day to day performance? I will be using it for web browsing, marking up PDF drawings and Streaming content.
I don't think you'll be making a wrong pick with anyone giving the primary use case you've listed... Anyone you pick would do just fine for those tasks. What you need to look out for is any feature that would give better color and connectivity maybe, if that your thing. In terms of performance... Both are good and would handle any task fine
@@AdewaleLuqmaanMudasiru Appreciate the advice. I think I am leaning more towards Redmi Pad Pro for that reason. A brighter display and bigger battery with a newer chipset. Being based in the UK I know Xiaomi has a store in London, so also hoping there is more after sales support. Also it comes with Android 14 out the box. So yeah, I think my mind is made up, just need to pull the trigger.
Does the pen support palm rejection ??
Is that Bocchi the rock ? You have earned a subscriber
same
Does the tablet have palm rejection?
I love your Bocchi wallpaper, may you give a link for the pict? Thanks 😁😁
Need a comparison with pad 6
does it have palm rejection?
Which anime was playing in the background??
See that white/grey/black bar at the bottom of every window? It can't be removed. It's extremely annoying especially when playing films or going fullscreen on anything. It's why I sent a redmi pad back.
That's the gesture indicator, you're a silly billy if you returned a tablet just because you didn't search how to turn it off
@@mjbaricua7403 it's not. You can't turn it off.
Do you recommend this one over the Xiaomi pad 6?
I'm thinking the pad 6 is more convenient because for example the keyboard doesn't need to be charged separately.
Sd870 in Pad 6 is an old chip. Probably more optimized than 7s gen 3. Aside from it being more powerful.
Xiaomi's 6s Pad Pro vs this one, which one is good
Is the Poco pad worth reviewing or is it just a 1:1 a redmi pad pro rebrand
Rebranded Redmi Pad Pro
Does the stylus have palm rejection? I don't want to float my arm to write on the screen
It's not a third party. So definitely it would have palm rejection. Just like the ones from Oppo and Huawei with their respective devices.
When this tablet will release globally
this is the same as poco pad ?
Now im waiting for 8s gen 3 tablet to be release. Xiaomi pad 7 dont let me down
Will the 8 gen 2 in the pad 6s pro perform similarly with 8s gen3?
@@user-mo8vh3uu7l slightly below 8gen2 performance but way better than 7s gen2
is google play available 😢😢
Looks like a fantastic tablet for the money for most usage
Does the Xiaomi redmi note 13 pro have interconnectivity with tablets ?
Yup
wow nice tablet
Thanks! Ordered it yesterday as a replacement for my damaged S7+. I don't need a premium tablet anymore, as my daily tablet usage has changed over the last years. So this one should cover all my needs. Great deal, especially with the free keyboard and stylus for the early birds :)
How much was it please
@@ABITOFTHISANDTHAT12 350€
@@ABITOFTHISANDTHAT12 350€ for the 256GB version.
how does this compare to xiaomi pad 6?
True I'm curious
Is it 7 or 6 ?
How does the Redmi Pad Pro differ from the Poco Pad? If you compare the characteristics on the official websites, then they are twins. What is the point of releasing 2 identical tablets on the global market? Maybe they have different manufacturers of displays or cameras? Someone had to save money on something. Otherwise, I really don't understand the point of releasing 2 identical tablets on the global market...
They are the same only the colours differs. Poco Pad won’t be released in some countries where Redmi Pad Pro was released. For example Germany no India yes
Dear Sir,
I m going to buy Redmi Pad Pro Soon and I have some of the queries regarding it. Please Reply,
1. Does it work with Xiaomi Stylus Pen Gen 2?
2. Does Xiaomi Stylus Pen Gen 2 get charged with it Wirelessly?
3. Does Redmi Pad Pro supports Palm rejection with Stylus Pen Gen 2?
Hoping for your reply soon.
Thank You
My god its crazy how long it took companies to make an android tablet that people actually want... Heapdhone jack and IO is godsend. Is widevine L1 enabled?
Believe so
Chris can handle 12 inches well.
I'm kind of here for it. I'm pretty well locked into the Apple ecosystem, but I used to use Xiaomi products years ago. I think that if I ever get another tablet, it would definitely be a Xiaomi tablet. It's pretty similar to iPadOS but wide open and more practical.
Technology is evolving My friend i love usein Technology everyday it helps me with life
Which is better option to pick,,redmi pad SE OR REDMI PAD PRO?????????
Look at the price and thwe SoC.
Takes as long as it did writing your comment.
This Redmi Pad Pro with its Snapdragon 7s gen 2 is WAY faster than the Snapdragon 680 in the Redmi Pad SE!
the way he knock the tablet, for a sec i thought it was jerryrigeverything XD
Redmi pen plam rejection?
🎉🎉
i don't know whether to get this or pad 6 😭
This is more powerful and better ❤
Headphone jack, sd card slot and stylus support. Only disappointment here is lack of cellular just like the Legion Y700 (old model tablet). Can be used as GPS replacement on maps. But I guess it'd jack up the price if it had 4g/5g connectivity.
Another so close product.
For the price it's absolutely fine. Just hot spot it with your phone
my deal breaker to me is that it usb version is only USB 2.0, instead of atleast USB 3.0. Its is very limiting.
Why this important
@@samer.4660Man, a simple google search would've solved that.
Usb 3.X allows faster data transfer speed and supports faster charging too. Usb 3 devices also have the possibility of supporting wired projection.
I want a tablet with the new Snapdragon X processor and runs Linux!
Micro sd card support and headphone jack 🙂
I can get this tablet in bundle with keyboard and pen for 250€ so its definitely a steal at that price!
Sounds interesting. Can you pls tell me the shop?
Tank you!
@@maximilianturtenwald2130 in the official mi shop. there is a 15% discount code for the bundle. one is available at unidays at the other one here in germany is available through "corporate benefits". so they are not public
@@maximilianturtenwald2130 on the german xiaomi store, I do have 50€ off though my company. But regular price is 300 with pen and Keyboard
Does it have a pc mode?
No
SO WHY WOULD YOU BUY THE 128GB if it can be expanded chris?
I think you mean the bigger version with 256gb
I personally would choose it because it comes with 2gb of ram more compared to the 128gb version. But if we're only talking about storage it doesn't matter what you choose because you can always extend your story storage capacity with an sd cardi
@@leeeverett4067This thing should never have disappeared on tablets. People who say 128gb non expandable is enough aren't getting their money's worth. 😅
Not the fact me and a friend watching this video made a discord server and put a bunch of Spurts face as stickers in it with perfect names such as "G Spurt" and "Dookey Spurt". This 12 Minute video took 40 minutes to watch. Jokes Aside love this guy and I will keep watching his videos until the day I croak.
Price?
£249 6/128
If it's around the 700 quid mark I might seriously consider it.
It's around £250
You can nearly buy 3
It is not available easily in U.K ?
You do a good review.
Bocchi the Rock!
Somehow this felt... Lacking😢
I feel jealous of you bro bcz every company launch their devices first in your country...I'm from India and here I waiting 3 to 4 to 5 month to come to india
Love you too Uncle Spurt
Not a bad tablet but the Pad 6 exists for not much more money and blows it away.
This one has an sd card slot, headphone jack and 10k mah battery. Which pad 6 variant are you referring to? Even the pad max doesn't have expandable memory.
This or the Honor Pad 9 ? Decisions decisions🤔
I'm in the same dilemma. Xiaomi has an SD card and jack, which is a big bonus
@@chrisw4215 but I understand it lags sometimes 😧 while browsing or moving around the menu
@@meguinness1116if you think Xiaomi is lagging then honor pad 9 is definitely lag
@@psych073 do you think that Xiaomi is better than honor pad9?
Hello
2:14 does anyone else also bothered by uneven placement for charging port and headphones jack!.
No but if you must find a reason for that to be a deal breaker I can understand
@@a1000island I’m just thinking if they are so careless of exterior design what else is not lining up or not done right internally.
Did support 60 or 40 fps in pubg mobile
60 fps constant on low settings

Or maybe Xiaomi pad6?
I feel this one is better good option honor pad 9 I got no bloat ware, no simcard support and no storage expansion

sadly all of xiaomi tablets dont come with cellular connectivity so it's a no no for me

It's just like Poco Pad

You're reviews are all the same I'm questioning why i even watch them because as it stands its always the same game, same screens, same dolby audio and nothing to seperate the difference between the products you review. Basically just a lazy review. Seriously mate if i was the marketing director of these priducts you'd be on the forget list because you don't do benchmarks or talk indepth about about the specifics of the product thats why everything you review is basically the same. If ive seen one I've seen them all.
I was hoping he played pubg mobile and tell us did redmi support 60 fbs or not
