What an absolutely gorgeous line. I didn't expect to see you cross into NSW. 😁 I think the T class would have to be my favorite diesel locomotive, followed by the 830 class in South Australia (T gets a higher mark because of the better vision from the cab).🤓
Technically the broad gauge actually ends here. The standard gauge from Narrandera came down and met the broad gauge at Tocumwal. You had to change trains to continue further north 👍😀
The single building on the island platform has a VR verandah on the BG side and a NSW verandah on the SG side. BTW there is an Annett key still in the bridge marked “Tocumwal Bridge” and was used to unlock the bridge for lifting. Doesn’t lift anymore. I have a VR book the 1953 General Appendix which sets out the regulations and procedure for lifting the bridge. In the video you can see the lever in the lifting span of the bridge. I never caught the VR train to Tocumwal, I had to go to Cobram and the station master took me to Tocumwal in the official car which had “VR” inscribed on the side in curly gold letters. At Tocumwal was the CPH that took me to Narrandera. (sometimes was a 600/700 DEB? set).
@@darylcheshire1618 sounds like a nice cross border trip, one I would've liked to be able to experience myself, but alas, it was too late for me when I thought of it. 🤔👍😀
Awesome video. I particularly liked the bit where the passenger coach stopped and then proceeded across the level crossing just as the set was approaching the Tocumwal yard. You just don't see that kind of sang-froid in Victoria these days.
That was great. In my day, we went left just before the bridge into tocumwal- to the caravan park about 4-5 KMs in on a dirt road. Magical place. Back then, the line to tocumwal-was not open and I think Cobram was the closest station. Good media.
Yes, we used to run the passenger train to Cobram and look at the Tocumwal line as we went past and think that it would be nice to run out there again. Now....... 🤔👍😀
Just think if Tocumwal and Mildura had passenger services, there would be 5 passenger train links from Melbourne to the Murray River, wishful thinking, ludicrous that Mildura is the one large regional city, that doesn't have a passenger train service
ALWAYS relaxing
Very happy you enjoy them and find them relaxing 👍😀

T classes were everywhere at one point. Glad you enjoyed the ride 👍 😀
@@driver667 Same for the 830s. Not many left now, but one does come to Victor Harbor occasionally. (yay) 😁

Great video. Just as you crossed the Murray, the caravan on the south bank - prime position - wish it had been me 😀👍
Glad you enjoyed it and got you dreaming of a holiday 😀 👍
Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it 👍 😀
The railway line continues on to narrenderra and Griffith

That’s true, sad thing tho it’s abandoned 😔

WHAT A NICE LOCO, WOW NICE AND SHINY
Glad to hear you enjoyed it 👍 😀
Wow you did a bit of bush bashing on that trip, great vision 👍
Very happy to hear you enjoyed it 👍 😀
23:12 that old factory looks fascinating
It does. It would make a great background for a movie. 👍😀
The Toc line is going to be Class 3 by the end of these works? :) Was there another train loading grain at Toc Graincorp that day?
I didn't see another train but I wasn't looking for another also. 🤔🤔👍😀
The PN crew car made me curious :D@@driver667

Well today was my grass cutting day and the weather is nice out 77F is the temp and no rain in sight, Good! Putty Cat and 667 take care.
Been a bit stormy here. Certainly not grass cutting weather 😀 Have a great day 👍😀
To @Driver667,
With all those sleepers and rail , it looks like a tie renewal is on the way for that section of the line.
It certainly is 👍😀
Wow another great video I've always wanted to see.
Hopefully one day Horsham to Adelaide or least Tailem Bend
That would be great to be able to do. We will have to see what happens in the future 😀👍
It looks like a relaying programme is planned north of Strathmerton judging by the rail drop and the concrete sleepers...
The line is indeed being upgraded 👍😀

Bad publicity for V/Line bus crossing
Interesting video, when are they gonna upgrade and work on this line?
My query also
About the same time as Australia gets ICE or TGV. 🏳🌈
They are in the process of upgrading the line as we speak 👍😀
