Wow! So much that is new to me! Clay veneers?? I have to look those up. In your channel . I only bought some cabochons to do some project bag bling but this could be another creative rabbit hole for me. Thanks
I can relate to this. We are moving into our new house this summer and all the work that has been done and still has to be done doesn't feel like a vacation either, lol
Hi Sandy! I meant to tell you before that I really like your hair. Perfect length too. I love bezels. I've even tried to make them out of chip board. The best result was a Tim Holtz (I think) die of a postage stamp and bottle cap. The centers pop out easily. You have so many lovely ideas for them! I have the photo type of my daughter when she was about 8 months old. She's 40 now! I need to catch up on your videos. I've tried to maintain a small garden since my physical condition got worse and it requires much of my "abled" hours. The rest being used for housekeeping and meal preps. However, we get cold winters here and I've always withdrawn during these months to do crafts. I'm really looking forward to it! Even though I enjoy the free organic produce, I'm ready for the heat and work to be over. Hope all is well with you.
Thanks for the nice comment about my hair. Seriously, I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair in my life until I let it go gray, lol. Guess I should have done it a while ago. :-D Yes, I know what you mean about the gardening. It is wonderful to be outdoors in amongst fresh food and green growing things, but it does take up time!
Love this! I did my own cross stitch designs and glued them into the pendants with the cabochons on top. I also was thinking of doing embroidery on them and leave it open to have the texture. I know you have a video of that as well, but I found a place that has a kit for embroidery where you put your embroidery on a blank and then glue it into the pendant. Let me know if you want more info on that and I’ll email it to you. 💜
Hi Sandy,, was wondering how a curb chain would look around a polymer clay cabochon,,or even a square or oval resin pendent, after doming it,,,its an idea I came up with, as I've got the strong gold and silver plated curb chain about 8 mm link size, I'm sure it would look ok. And like the idea of the crystals with the bezels too.🦋🍁🐞💐
@@SandyHuntress not tried it yet ut hopefully I will be able to soon, I'm waiting on a cat paw trinket box mould,, I actually made a large sphere, but I had problems with it although I don't mind bubbles, there are tiny bubbles in it that look like a sort of transparant galaxy within the galaxy type sphere, cured at each layer the bottom half of the mould, and used an old rhinestone rainbow face mask that I cut into strips ,placed around mid section,,with purple rainbow glitter flakes and cosmetic glitter even tho ,,I cured well, there were 3 bigger bubbles that are floating looking like transparant rooks, I actually like how it turned out, despite the failure, very sparkly,, I got a glu gun,,and rotary tool plus bead moulds European and normal 10 mm bead mould,, and no hole bead mould, plus a selection of cosmetic glitter my health is up and down at the moment,so not done much, anyway take care Sandy and as always stay safe ⚘💐🍁❤🌹🍁
Hi Sandy,, my resin is forming a skin 🤔on it now funny enough I made teo realy beautiful pendents with black mica power, purple and pink holographic glitter and fine silver rainbow glitter, a square and a rectangle,, when I tried to do a dried flower pendent using using clear uv resin it for some reason I'm not sure about decided to form a skin on an uncured piece,so now I'm not sure as to what to do with this resin. It's a kg size 1000,as I normally have the 500 ml. but my son got the huge size resin,,,and I normally don't get bigger sizes in resin its qutie cold here and the the weather is bad, don't know if that's the reason, for the resin or not,,, the chain would definitely work, just forgot to use it , still can for that part, help always welcome. Take care stay safe❤🦋💐⚘👍
It really depends on the material that the cabochon is made of. E6000 is a great glue for jewelry, I often use super glue when gluing polymer clay to bezels, and the faux druzies stick all by themselves since they are mostly made of glue.
I am new to all this..someone bought me a kit with the bezels and glass cabisons..after deciding on what to put in bezel how do you prep it and also how do you adhere the glass top..what type of glue...hoeing for some help..sorry
Hi Annette, it can vary based on the kind of project and materials you are using. What comes in the kit? Are there instructions? Is there any glue or resin included? Without knowing what kinds of cabochons and other things you’re putting in the bezels I can’t answer your question.
@@SandyHuntress the kit came with 5bezels like the ones you showed..round and squares and oval..and chain and glass cabasons....just a paper saying many fun ideas.. I have never used any of this before.the bezels are metal of some type..looked exactly like some of yours...so if you use polymer clay or a picture behind the glass..what kind of glue do you use in the bezel and then do you put more glue on top of picture and then lay the glass cabasion down?
@@annettedupras3546 If you use polymer clay you can bake it right in the bezel. After it's baked you'll want to pop it out (the clay should come right out in one whole piece) then you can add some E6000 glue and glue the polymer back in. If you are glueing in a piece of paper, you want to add some glue behind the paper, just regular craft glue or E6000 will do. The tricky part is gluing the cabochon on top. You want the glue to not show, so it needs to be something that will dry clear without any streaks. This is why folks will often just add resin on top, a doming resin works nicely instead of a glass cabochon. I hope this helps you get started, Annette, there are lots and lots of other techniques for putting things in cabochons. My advice is to play and experiment. Often if you aren't happy with something you can pop it out of the bezel and try again with something else. Just have fun, and don't stress about results. I'm sure you'll come up with lots of cool ideas!
Silver tarnishes, that's just how it is. You can try coating it, but coatings tend to flake and peel. If you buy fine silver, that won't tarnish, but it's expensive. I'd suggest investing in some polishing cloths. ;-)
Use a ruler to measure the size inside the bezel. Also, I like to print test photos on plain paper before cutting out my nice photos or more expensive print outs on photo paper.
Sandy, you seem like ur a woman that knows her crafting hope you can help me out, I bought the deep circle bezel HERE: www.hobbylobby.com/Beads-Jewelry/Jewelry-Findings/Bezels/Extra-Deep-Circle-Bezel---38mm/p/69301 it's 38mm i assume the inside so I wanted to measure the inside with a digital caliper but one reads 17.9mm so I'm now confoozed, or am i measuring with the wrong tool? hope you could resolve this TY and for the video, i enjoyed watching.
Hi Rom, Thanks for the comment, I’m glad you like my videos. 😊 I’d love to help you, but I’m not quite sure what it is you are asking. Did you measure across the piece at its widest point (the diameter)?
@@SandyHuntress : ok i wanted to measure the inside of the bezel, it is a deep circle bezel, I think my caliper was not responding well yesterday,, i tried again and think its measuring how its supposed now, because the deep circle bezel is 38mm in diameter, but not the inside like the whole bezel and i measured the inside which was measuring only 17.9 and i was understanding why in measuring 17.9 when its 38mm, but like i mentioned today seems like my digital caliper seems to have wanted to work, today it measured 37.8 close enough yes, but from what i was told at the local hobby store the whole of the circle bezel in diameter measure 38mm, well I think I explained right LOL I know it can be head-scratching when trying to explain in a text rather in explaining in person, can be very confusing texting it, but thank you very much for responding sandy i appreciate it.

Another idea if you haven't tried already is of melted crayon in bezels then adding the resin or dome cabochons on top it maybe alittle messy
That's an interesting idea, Sharron! It does sound like it could get messy, but might be fun to play with. Thanks for sharing!
Could I put dried flowers in them?

how do you do photo transfer that you mention?
I don’t have a video on it, but if you do a search for “polymer clay photo transfer“ you will find several different ways.
How do you keep the silver ones from tarnishing? All mine tarnished.
