@@Gjeebs the effort shows! Your videos have always been informative and entertaining to watch but the script somehow made something already quite good even better! As per the share here, I’m going to contact State Farm again (I long ago was a happy customer of theirs) for quotes as my auto+home+umbrella policy with Travelers is getting out of hand. Thanks for the tip!
Get this! My '22 MYP glass got a big crack 2 weeks into ownership from road debri. My Ins company, USAA, covered the glass with zero deductible. They 3rd party all their glass repair claims to SafeLite, who does not instal Tesla sunroof glass, so they in turn had to send me to Sunroof Express. Sunroof Express does not do Tesla sunroof glass so they contacted the local Tesla Service center in Rochester NY, who does not do their own glass repairs and uses a Tesla certified local auto body collision repair shop in Rochester to do the repair. In the end it still cost me zero dollars. The bill, $4, 300 or so for the glass and installation.
Thanks for the video. I had State Farm but switched to Tesla. I have similar coverage and was paying around $150s for Model Y. That’s with no tickets or accidents for many years. That’s with multi vehicle discount and our home insurance discount as well. I’ve had a Model 3 previously and Acura TL. Been with them for over 20 years. I switched to Tesla when we got our Model Y performance and Model X. We’re still saving about $60 monthly even with losing the multi vehicle discount and home insurance discount with State Farm. I think location plays into factor as well. I’m in California and everything is just more expensive here. I also drive 20K+ miles annually
Nice. Thanks for the info. Planning to order either a model 3 or y this month. And I just have a bit of anxiety about breaking the glass roof. I also work and assist in the OR, so I'm familiar with implants. Always nice to have Reps around during a case.
Insurance will vary state to state for the same coverage. One of the big factors we have seen is in states that have a lot of hail claims. Kansas and Oklahoma to name two.
those camera transitions had me laughing. Reminded me of the old 80s parody movies like The Naked Gun and Airplane. The Zucker brothers and Jim Abrahams would be proud. lol
Beware of progressive insurance. I got a crack on my glass near with a roof rack mount hooks in when carrying a small folding ladder. I reported it the next day to progressive had to call them since it didn’t have an option for a crack roof glass on their app. They kept calling it a windshield even though I told them it’s not a windshield. So they marked it as a claim on the app for a windshield. I told him I already had appointment with Tesla but wasn’t until the 17th they try to have me take it to a safe flight on the third. well, I got it fixed today at Tesla for 1692 and submitted the invoice. I just got a call from adjuster saying it was marked as a wrong type of claim it’s just comprehensive claim not glass. And I messed up by getting it fixed without having adjuster come out and look at it, now they said they have to go through a special process and can’t tell me how long it will take to process the claim. It sounds like a lot of BS to me to keep from paying. I wish tesla had insurance in North Carolina. I would drop progressive in a heartbeat.
Wow not bad. I have a very similar policy with loyal customer and good driver credits and it’s 128 monthly for my 19 Mustang GTCS and right under $100 for the Tacoma. I’ve been contemplating trading in and getting the Model Y performance and if the insurance stays around the same I’ll def do it.
@6:55 hey, I like the gecko, it's the best thing going for GEICO.... but it doesn't matter, I do Farmers (for my vehicles) and State Farm (for other property). I may be changing that up a little after I add my Model Y. I'll definitely be doing some insurance shopping. I just happen to come across this vid, today, very on point for me. Thanks!
1:07 Every car includes third-party insurance or CTP as part of your registration of the car. Full comprehensive insurance is something that you get when you pay for insurance for the car, in Australia, I think the way American does insurance is down right stupid. It makes insurance hard, that is why it is best to have a country that only offers FULL COMPRESSIVE. because you are always covered regardless if the other person has insurance or not.
Just noticed that your Macan is blue. That may come in handy in a couple years. My Model Y and wife's 96 Accord are insured through Costco. Right now it's Connect brand insurance. The cost just went down $50 for 6 months full coverage in So. Calif.
You’re Helllllllarious.😂😂😂 oh boy, I needed that fucking laughs with what’s going on with TSLA stocks lately. Love your contents and relentless pursuit of happiness with Tesla car. Love you, bro.
Good stuff. I have USAA. And my Y cost less than my p85. Put a P or an M or well you get the idea and the price jumps. Good to know that full glass coverage covers the roof. I live in az I know that it’s not your fault when you get a cracked window!
I currently have USAA & my Y is getting delivered next month. I’ve been wondering what the difference is between USAA & Tesla’s insurance to see if I could keep USAA since it’s such a great price. It’s good to know that’s been your experience, so I’ll definitely check it out.
Great video! Just an FYI to people who may not know. Insurance is going to be different for everyone. There are multiple factors when insurance companies look at a rate for someone. This includes but is not limited to credit, where you live (zip code), where the car is stored (zip code), who is driving, driving records, vehicle usage, etc. State Farm might be cheaper for you, others might be cheaper with Progressive (which is who I have), some it might be Tesla Insurance, or Erie, Liberty Mutual, etc. It is good to check prices at least once a year. It is also good to just ask your current insurance company if there is anything they can do to lower the price. Sometimes if they rewrite the policy under a new policy, it is cheaper than the old policy. This can be due to rate changes, credit changes, additional discounts on new policy, etc. Just a thought for everyone. Love the content though, keep it up!
my model 3 in Australia costs me 120 AUD (78 USD) per month for full comprehensive, with a $600 (390 USD) excess if the accident is my fault. plus I get 6 month car rental till my tesla is fixed, plus i get choice of body repairer (tesla certified body shop) as well as windshield insurance include so its replaced for free, which also covers the roof on a tesla. So not sure why Americans pay so much for insurance and get less.
If you had to pay out of pocket, I think the max you would pay is the amount of your deductible for comprehensive insurance, which in your case, would be $500.
FYI I passed by Geico Headquarters a few years ago and found it interesting the company's full name posted out front is Government Employees Insurance Corporation
Gjeebs can review TuxMats? I absolutely love mine. I never had a chance to see or feel 3D mats in person. However my Tuxmats fills the entire well. Please do a comparison review.
