I’d like to give Space Base and Gizmos a try, for sure. I’ve heard that there is a “light speed” variant for Space Base that helps quicken its pace. Also, I have heard that the Shy Pluto expansion for Space Base was not that good. Its other expansions might have higher opinions. Here are my top thirty currently: 30. Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Baker Street Irregulars ( Using clues, deduction and “thinking outside the box” try to solve crime cases.) 29. Dominion ( with Prosperity and Intrigue expansions for more option mixing of decks). 28. Parks ( but with it’s Nightfall expansion). 27. Awkward Guests 26. Hanamikoji ( one of the best “I split, you choose” games-two player only) 25. Fantastic Factories ( its Manufactions expansion brings in a variety of new “ factory” cards, plus a new resource). 24.Xi’an (an underrated game in my opinion). Once learned, you can finished under an hour with it’s snappy turns, yet tough choices. 23. Western Legends. 22. Pillars of the Earth (an oldie, but goodie, easy to learn Euro with a beautiful board that helps game play). 21. For Northwood! ( A solo trick taking card game). 20. Arboretum ( a “ mean” card game with plenty of tactical strategy, very tough, yet simple decisions and very nice art on the cards). 19. Horrified 18. Le Havre 17. 7 Wonders Duel ( I enjoy adding its “Agora” expansion). 16. Scout ( a great “ ladder climbing/ improve your hand to take tricks” card game with a “ twist” 👌). 15. Cascadia ( I’m looking forward to its “Landmarks” expansion). 14. Ethnos 13. Hansa Teutonica (Big Box= more maps. Though a “Euro” that looks drier than a drought, it has plenty of interaction and strategy). 12. Project L ( Very fun, fast, tactile puzzle game.) 11. Clank! Catacombs 10. Architects of the West Kingdom 9. Viscounts of the West Kingdom 8. Paladins of the West Kingdom 7. Everdell ( I’ve learned it’s “Mistwood” expansion has a better solo variant than the base game.) 6. Wingspan 5. Viticulture 4. Scythe 3. Glen More II 2. Terraforming Mars ( with Prelude expansion and all its Big Box game component upgrades). 1. Orleans (including its expansions which allow for cooperative and solo versions, as well as added strategies.)
I need to look into that Space Base variant. Dang there is a lot of games on your list I want to try. I really want to try Orleans and Paladins. I can’t wait for you to see our top 10 drop we might have some in common. I didn’t even know Cascadia was getting an expansion.
Do you like these games?
