Wow 11k views in just 2 days !!! You’re starting to stop being a small creator 😉 I really like almost all your stuff, but I think the top 10/ top 100 are where you really shine : you summarize very well, you are very precise and concise about the pros (and sometimes the cons), you have wonderful transitions/illustrations and you are so engaged into it. That makes your video very captivating! Thanks a lot for spending so much time in doing them!
Yep Whistle Mountain and Lost Ruins of Arnak totally called them. Great list. Cooled a little on whistle mountain, because although the variety is great, resources all feel similar and resource collection often is governed by volume rather than type.
Thanks for sharing! Volume for resources depends on how many you can consider as wild. It's no good having a ton of water if you got no metal to buy any machines to build with.
Finally had a chance to dedicate the time to sit down and watch this. Great video, as always.... I was not surprised in the least that Spirit Island was your #1; however, Lost Ruins of Arnak and 7 Wonders Duel surprised me making your top 10.... Not that I disagree with you, but just thinking about what I thought would be on your list. Every game on this list really shines and I love that some are less represented on others' lists..... Thanks for sharing this with us.
I love watching these and learning about new games to add to my own collection! There are literally always more boards games to learn and its so great. Awesome video!
Great video, love how enthusiastic you are talking about the games you love. By the way, we only own the base game of MoM, what expansions would you recommend picking first? I could not find a video in which you rank the expansions or/and the scenarios.
Awesome top! Several are in my top 100 as well, and others are very high on my to-play list. And Whistle Mountain is indeed an excellent game, there's nothing like that middle section where you practically build worker placement spots. I agree it's extremely underrated.
Great videos Luke! Excited to see it pop up today but sad the this series is over for another year! Love your enthusiasm! Great list of games! Love Most of these top 10 games! I haven’t played a couple! Keep up the great work!
This top 10 reminded me why I love your content, my taste in games is incredibly similar to yours! Viticulture, Detective Club, 7 Wonders Duel, Architects and Viscounts of the west kingdom, spirit Island are all games I own and love. I am really interested in trying Whistle Mountain and Lost Ruins of Arnak too!
Hey! Really enjoyed your "speech" on "Whisle Mountain". I've never played it but probably will. You suggested doing a crazy video about it to get their attention... You know what? It is a great idea! I wish there was more attention on games that have less visibility in these "Crowd Funding" days. On games that give the same satisfaction and that you don't need to get a loan to acquire them. :) Just an idea.
@@TheBrokenMeeple I was not talking specifically about that game in particular. I thought it would be an interesting video series "theme" or segment to showcase/compare games that, even if they are older, less attractive, ... deliver a comparable or even better experience. Maybe it is just me... Or maybe you've already done that?
Love Abys and Vindication, among my favourite games. Great video, enjoyed it very much...even if I think Spirit Island is not for us, sold my copy after 3 or 4 plays and LROA whilst a good game, not a scratch on Dune Imperium😉😂😂😂
Great top 10. I agree with Lost Ruins Of Arnak it's an amazing game. So much fun an really great componentes. I love it! Spirit Island I had a similar experience I played it a while ago and thought it was "Ok". I played it again this year and it kind of surprised me as well. Mentioning DC animated universe... Cherry on top! 🤣
I could of guessed the number 1 😅 I brought all the expansions for it so quickly after my first few games I love it. I have only played it solo though not sure if my game group of 5 could handle it 😅 So much value and I still haven’t opened Jagged Earth yet!
I bought Whistle Mountain based on your review earlier this year. It’s so good! Haven’t ever played anything quite like it. And even though the theme isn’t coherent it looks beautiful.
Great Top 100 👍 Bought whistle mountain on sale upon your recommendation and looking forward to trying it. I am in the Dune Imperium camp even though I’m not into the lore, the player interaction is what makes every game different for me. But I will allow others to like Arnak 😝
I just played my first game of Spirit Island over the weekend! So it was great timing to then watch your video 😄 I can really see why it gets so much love. Only played solo but can’t wait to get it back to the table and try out a new spirit. Great video! (Also, really interested to check out Detective Club)
Great video as always!! It will be really good to get a BGG listing of your Top100 - you know to double check what games are on the list or not :) Regarding 7WondersDUEL do then not recommend the second extension? We play this game a lot (base+1st exp), what are your thoughts? PS: Thank you for insisting (again) on Whistle Mountain!
The problem is Agora is not better than Pantheon. And combining the two for me takes the game outside of a fairly casual yet thinky game. Now not to say the expansion is bad but its a case of why have this When Pantheon is so good. You might get more out of it though with the amount you play it.
@@TheBrokenMeeple thanks! I see, I guess I will rather focus on Whistle Stops+Mountain instead ;) Now, hop you go make a BGG listing! please please please please please please please please please please
You said: "If you're a eurogamer ..." Interestingly enough: I am not. I can't remember 'liking' eurogames very much. I also haven't played any of your numers 2 to 9, but Spirit Island. your #1 is my favorite game. But then again: Maybe I do like highly thematic, cooperative eurogames? ;) So far I hadn't watched any of your videos. Guess I'll have to go through a few of them and check whether you actually played Perdition's Mouth: Abyssal Rift and if you did: What you thought about it. (At least that's the most euro-y dungeon crawler that I played and greatly enjoyed so far.) Also: Maybe I can find more cooperative eurogames on your channel, that might be "less represented" on those channels that I usually watched so far. :)
Curious how many games of Arnak you have under your belt pre expansion. I really loved it for about my first 10 plays but started to cool on it a bit. It Really needs that expansion for me!
More than that due to solo plays, I admit there would come a time where the expansion would be needed but if you get ten solid plays out of a big Euro before then that's not bad.
When you pointed to the big black box for your number 2, I immediately thought of my number 1 of all time: Kingdom Death : Monster. I miss it in your top100. Have you ever tried Kingdom Death : Monster? It's such a great game ...
@@TheBrokenMeeple The current reprint of the base game will be available again in the foreseeable future in the current version 1.6 in the store of Kingdom Death : Monster. If you are interested in it, you should order there accordingly. It is not for nothing among the BGG Top 50 best games of all time ... ;)
Good list all the way from 100, thanks. I'm eyeing Abyss for a while now but already have Aquatica, have you played it yet? If so, how would you compare the two?
We have the same favorite game! I'm new to the channel, so I'm surprised to see how high Sentinels is. It used to be one of my favorites but has dropped over time. I hope the definitive edition helps it rise back up the ranks for me.
Sentinels is your Merchants of Venus though you actually let it drop one place, I wonder if Eric will ever do that. I like your top 10, biggest surprise was Vindication, I love that game, but I did not expect you to like it that much. Pity it's already done again, as usual a great 'show' with great games and a great host.
Last year, you and I crossed over with 28 games. This year, 30 of your picks are on my top games of all-time. We both still agree that Viticulture and 7 Wonders Duel are two of the greatest games in the history of ever. More importantly, we agree that Lost Ruins of Arnak is a million times better than Doodoo Inferium.
Thank you everyone who has supported me throughout this Top 100! And to the 38 troll dislikers - soon RUclips will take the public button away from you so...........HA!
Viticulture is such a great game. I too came to Spirit Island late and now absolutely love it. Such a tense game (in a good way). Was too late to pick up Jagged Earth, but will definitely get it when it comes back!
Overall for me personally almost none of those games would make my Top 10 but I honor that you pay respects to classics and are not obsessed with the cult of the new
Not sure if I missed it (I did watch all the videos in this series) but did Street Masters make your list this year? I think every SotM fan should try it-especially if they also enjoy playing games solo. 🙂
@@TheBrokenMeeple Hmmm... it's available via a couple of online stores in Australia-and we're usually the ones forgotten about/forced to pay egregious shipping costs. I really hope you get to play it one day.
Great video, Luke. I always appreciate your perspective on solo gaming (and your participation in the FB solo gamers group). Spirit Island is excellent. Not my #1, but high up there. I have not jumped on the Arnak train yet, but I may. Perhaps after work tomorrow, I may stop by my FLGS and see if they have Arnak or perhaps Whistle Mountain (though I'm primarily a solo gamer). I've been playing Warfighter WWII lately (been on my table for almost two weeks). Very thematic, tons of fun, solo or multi-player, and has that feeling like Spirit Island that you barely win or lose. I'd suggest you check it out if you get a chance.
Thanks! I'm not usually a big fan of the war game genre though, I tried to get into those Thunderbolt Apache games and just didn't want to deal with little chits and planning over fun gameplay. I got SI though so I'm good! :D
@@TheBrokenMeeple Yeah, I understand your aversion to those types of wargames. Warfighter however shares similarities in gameplay to Marvel Champions and Arkham Horror. So, if you like those games, and like the theme of leading a squad of soldiers, Warfighter does it so well. By the way, I ended up ordering Whistle Mountain. I blame you. 😆
Nice list! Spirit Island coming in hot! My current top 9 would be: Marvel Champions, Spirit Island, Too Many Bones, Arkham horror LCG, Mysterium park, Klask, Codenames duet, Arnak, Viticulture. Looking forward to Arnak expansion as well the revised core for LOTR LCG (since I'm a sucker for those)
Literally have Whistle Mountain on my table, set up and ready to play it for the first time sometime this weekend. Glad to hear you think so highly of it!
@@TheBrokenMeeple I enjoyed it, but I didn't realize it was going to be such a race to the end once the first building is built that causes the water to rise. From that point on, literally every other build was directly on top of that so we ended up with a skinny tower. I thought there would be more building width-wise, and maybe there is in other games, but that's how our first one turned out. We will see since I definitely plan to get it to the table again soon.
Sentinels as #2... Now, I really feel lost. My group and I struggled with the card writing. It wasn't clear for us. We thought it may have been an age/indie thing. Have you, we only played the base, but what are we missing? Should we have played a different set?
I love it and have gotten used to the abilities and admin parts. The Base Game shouldn't be too hard to follow the cards but if you want, wait for the Revised Definitive Edition to release which updates all the graphic design and card abilities to make life easier.
Great list! I own 5 of these games, so I won’t say you’re wrong 😉 I agree that Whistle Mountain is pretty underrated. I played it twice and really enjoyed it! And 7 wonders duel solo has been my favorite solo for the better part of the year. Now I’m into flip and writes and Hadrian’s Wall and Cartographers are doing it for me. But I agree that this solo variant is absolutely brilliant! Overall, I own a full quarter of you top 100. That’s probably why I enjoy your content so much. We like the same kind of stuff, and when you like something that’s a good sign for me to check it out 😃 I can’t wait for the analysis! I’m a sucker for these stuff!
Thanks for this ride. I have added Spirit Island to my wishlist earlier this year. Have tried it two player before. Really good game. Lost Ruins are soo good, hope the expansion adds more fun 🙂 MoM still is my biggest disappointment on your list. Never really saw the reason to like it, but each to his own.

Anyway, was teasing you about TM cause I knew 😆 I'm waiting for your opinion about Vampire Rivals 😉 Thanks for all
Great to see Viticulture, Vindication & 7 Wonders Duel up there! Another great list - appreciate the top 💯
Much appreciated!
Thank you so much. I only wish I had the same view count for all my videos but yeah Top 10s are where its at. But I need to do reviews also 😁
Yep Whistle Mountain and Lost Ruins of Arnak totally called them.
Good job on the list!
Fun list, as always, Luke! ^_^ Thanks for doing these... I know they must be a lot of work.
Not half!! 🥴
Still have Whistle Mountain and Viticulture on my to-play list. Fun to go through your top 100, it must be difficult to pick.😃👏👏👏
It really is!
Glad you enjoyed it! Will be good to get you back on again!
@@TheBrokenMeeple absolutely! We'd be honoured 😊
I love watching these and learning about new games to add to my own collection! There are literally always more boards games to learn and its so great. Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed!
Great video, love how enthusiastic you are talking about the games you love.
By the way, we only own the base game of MoM, what expansions would you recommend picking first? I could not find a video in which you rank the expansions or/and the scenarios.
No I haven't done one. But either in chronological order of release or start with Streets of Arkham.
@@TheBrokenMeeple Thanks
Awesome top! Several are in my top 100 as well, and others are very high on my to-play list. And Whistle Mountain is indeed an excellent game, there's nothing like that middle section where you practically build worker placement spots. I agree it's extremely underrated.
Yeah and I don't get why entirely. There's some bits I mentioned but otherwise it should be more loved.
Great videos Luke! Excited to see it pop up today but sad the this series is over for another year! Love your enthusiasm! Great list of games! Love Most of these top 10 games! I haven’t played a couple! Keep up the great work!
Thanks a ton!
That's awesome!
I did a review for it back in March time.
@@rogerst-arneault3522 so essentially Cult of the Old?
@@TheBrokenMeeple Yeah! The old and the forgotten. :)
Love Abys and Vindication, among my favourite games. Great video, enjoyed it very much...even if I think Spirit Island is not for us, sold my copy after 3 or 4 plays and LROA whilst a good game, not a scratch on Dune Imperium😉😂😂😂
Fair enough! But I'm Team Arnak for life! :D
I like my movies as much as my games!
I could of guessed the number 1 😅 I brought all the expansions for it so quickly after my first few games I love it. I have only played it solo though not sure if my game group of 5 could handle it 😅
So much value and I still haven’t opened Jagged Earth yet!
Tonnes of value, and I wouldn't go near a 5 player game of Spirit Island!
@@TheBrokenMeeple It’s okay you could watch a film in between turns 🤣
I bought Whistle Mountain based on your review earlier this year. It’s so good! Haven’t ever played anything quite like it. And even though the theme isn’t coherent it looks beautiful.
Hope you enjoy it!
quality non-fashionable top 10. great work, sizzling presentation, impressive balance of genuinely fun ggames.Keep going and you'll win youtube.
Ha ha I wish I could win YT or at least be one of the top tier! 😜
Such a great list. Great end to a great series, thank you.
Great Top 100 👍 Bought whistle mountain on sale upon your recommendation and looking forward to trying it. I am in the Dune Imperium camp even though I’m not into the lore, the player interaction is what makes every game different for me. But I will allow others to like Arnak 😝
Hope you enjoy it!
It will be really good to get a BGG listing of your Top100 - you know to double check what games are on the list or not :)
Regarding 7WondersDUEL do then not recommend the second extension? We play this game a lot (base+1st exp), what are your thoughts?
PS: Thank you for insisting (again) on Whistle Mountain!
The problem is Agora is not better than Pantheon. And combining the two for me takes the game outside of a fairly casual yet thinky game. Now not to say the expansion is bad but its a case of why have this When Pantheon is so good.
You might get more out of it though with the amount you play it.
@@TheBrokenMeeple thanks! I see, I guess I will rather focus on Whistle Stops+Mountain instead ;)
Now, hop you go make a BGG listing! please please please please please please please please please please
Spirit Island? Never heard of it. Is it any good? :)
Meh. You wouldn't like it! :P
You said:
"If you're a eurogamer ..."
Interestingly enough: I am not. I can't remember 'liking' eurogames very much. I also haven't played any of your numers 2 to 9, but Spirit Island. your #1 is my favorite game.
But then again: Maybe I do like highly thematic, cooperative eurogames? ;)
So far I hadn't watched any of your videos. Guess I'll have to go through a few of them and check whether you actually played Perdition's Mouth: Abyssal Rift and if you did: What you thought about it. (At least that's the most euro-y dungeon crawler that I played and greatly enjoyed so far.)
Also: Maybe I can find more cooperative eurogames on your channel, that might be "less represented" on those channels that I usually watched so far. :)
Not played Perditions or Rift I'm afraid, you can only play or need to play so many dungeon crawlers. Curious how many co-op Euros there even are?
I love abyss and it's world. I have been waiting so long for leviathan to come back in print!!!
@@TheBrokenMeeple this is true!
This was nice!
Hey mr Broken Meeple. I have Spirit Island and was just wondering how you play it solo. Do you go with one spirit or do you dual hand two spirits?
Majority of time true solo!
When you pointed to the big black box for your number 2, I immediately thought of my number 1 of all time: Kingdom Death : Monster. I miss it in your top100. Have you ever tried Kingdom Death : Monster? It's such a great game ...
Nope but then most of the waking world hasn't either its impossible to get
@@TheBrokenMeeple The current reprint of the base game will be available again in the foreseeable future in the current version 1.6 in the store of Kingdom Death : Monster.
Yes I have - they aren't similar though in terms of their mechanics, only the underwater setting.
Great games in this set, however one that has my attention is Lost Ruins of Arnak. Needless to say because I adore Raiders and all its derivatives,
We have the same favorite game! I'm new to the channel, so I'm surprised to see how high Sentinels is. It used to be one of my favorites but has dropped over time. I hope the definitive edition helps it rise back up the ranks for me.
I'm hoping it brings in a new audience as well!
Great video!
Thanks!
Oh yeah Eric won't allow anything to tarnish Merchants...............but it's not even a good game! :P
Ha ha Doodoo Inferium 🤣
I love your enthusiasm. You've definitely made me want to play Abyss again! Thanks Luke!
Also, thumbnail is on spot!!!
Couldn't agree more!
Overall for me personally almost none of those games would make my Top 10 but I honor that you pay respects to classics and are not obsessed with the cult of the new
People waste so much money on "cult of the new"
Not sure if I missed it (I did watch all the videos in this series) but did Street Masters make your list this year?
I think every SotM fan should try it-especially if they also enjoy playing games solo. 🙂
Never played it, don't think it ever hit UK distribution but I hear that said a lot about it.
We have three crossovers in the same exact position. Nice list. I need to give Arnak a try but I love Dune Imperium. I'll probably like it.
Hard to say, as there's a lot of people who like one over the other.
I bought Lost Ruins of Arnak earlier in the year, but got intimidated by all the stuff in the box and never learned how to play it.
Honestly the rulebook is very clear and it's a very smooth game once you get going.
Okay awesome thank you!!
So little in common with me except for Sentinels. Enjoyable list, love the enthusiasm!
Ha ha thanks! 😁👍 And if you are going to sync on any of them then Sentinels is as good as it gets 😁
Nice list! Spirit Island coming in hot!
My current top 9 would be: Marvel Champions, Spirit Island, Too Many Bones, Arkham horror LCG, Mysterium park, Klask, Codenames duet, Arnak, Viticulture.
Looking forward to Arnak expansion as well the revised core for LOTR LCG (since I'm a sucker for those)
Wow! I own 7 of these games, and at least 3 are in my top 10 of all time!
Literally have Whistle Mountain on my table, set up and ready to play it for the first time sometime this weekend. Glad to hear you think so highly of it!
Excellent, let me know your thoughts!
@@TheBrokenMeeple Thanks. After your video, I took a look at the digital edition as well. Probably a good way to sample more content.
That thumbnail background got me giggle a bit I must say, good one!
He he - couple of "trollish" attempts in this video! :D
Great list! I own 5 of these games, so I won’t say you’re wrong 😉
I agree that Whistle Mountain is pretty underrated.
We like the same kind of stuff, and when you like something that’s a good sign for me to check it out 😃
I can’t wait for the analysis! I’m a sucker for these stuff!
25% eh? That's pretty good going compared to most!
Fun, I just bought 7 Wonders Duel and Vindication last night!
Thanks for this ride. I have added Spirit Island to my wishlist earlier this year. Have tried it two player before. Really good game.
Lost Ruins are soo good, hope the expansion adds more fun 🙂
MoM still is my biggest disappointment on your list. Never really saw the reason to like it, but each to his own.
Why do people not like Mansions 😜
i really enjoyed detective club at ukge with ya despite my usual aversion to party games and i owe u a game of arnak lol a surprising amount of crossover in our top ten lol
