Great modern update of this tune! From what I understand this was heavily influenced by Massive Attack - Angel. I believe they either wanted to license the track for the game but didn't or couldn't so this was what Rik created with elements of that track.
Rik cleared the air on this, in fact said he was NOT familiar with Massive Attack. His influence on this track was in fact himself and his growth as a person coming out of the darkness while he was composing Bloodlines 1. He said he wanted to take the original and make a more evolved and mature version that displayed almost a sense of reconciliation.

RIP to this game we never god :(
Who would've thought that a remix of the original VTMB theme would sound so good?!
We live in the shitty timeline, the other one has proper Bloodlines 2 game and music. What we will get will destroy Bloodlines as a whole.
I can't believe the fired Brian Mitsoda amongst others in this project. I really hope they don't let us down with this release. Please!!
Its gonna be shit
Keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed.
The second this track was released... Somewhere in some deep far away corner of this globe... Drowned within the blackest pitch of shadows... my coffin finally creaked open... "At last, something again to live for!" 🔥
Half-life 3? Hah forget it, need this game. :D
I adore you Rik Shaffer!!!
Absolutely effing flawless. Just enough of the original to give me Feelings, but with a new spin.
Just the right blend of the OG track, nostalgia fanservicing and maintained talent. Rik Schaffer never retired, he was just waiting for us.
I love this so much
Nostalgic feelings for something that you haven't experienced yet.
Nostalgic for the promise and hope I had for this game.
In german you call that “Sehnsucht”
This is brilliant. This is my new loop!
Nice little call back to the original theme. Love it.
The best thing right now for VTMB2 is Rik.
Hell YES! This is how I like my Kindred music!!!
It's calling us back
You'll never even hear their call, but the blood will, and it will make you obey.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! SCHAFFER IS BACK!
I kinda prefer the first, especially for the base line, but it's an amazing piece. Thank you very much for having given us such a gift after so many years. Lots of love guys.
You made a powerful enemy tonight, Stop Sign!
This...is so...I cannot describe it...reminiscent enough to be nostalgic, new enough to be its own thing...and remains awesome without getting lost in the mix :')
Pain.
Ikr?!
AND THE PAIN ONLY GETS *WORSE*
I WISH THESE WERE THE FINAL NIGHTS BECAUSE AT LEAST THEN THE PAIN WOULD END
Cool that you have added info about Mitsoda being fired in description.
sigh.......... there's a small part of me that's still hoping for this game to be good, but most of me isn't sure if they're even gonna finish it
Yes! I am so happy that Schaffer is returning to compose the OST for VTMB 2. Between the licensed tracks and Schaffer's compositions VTMB is one of my all-time favorite soundtracks of any game and it fit the game, its world and themes perfectly imo. Liking what I've heard so far and supposedly Rik has already composed a little over an hour of brand new music for VTMB 2!
it sounds like massive attack's dissolved girl and its amazing
I've been listening to this everyday for the past week... the hype is real....
I have been playing the first game again love it.
I just can't stop listening to this.
NGL I got full body chills when I first heard this. I'm SO ridiculously happy they brought Rik back.
probaly the only good thing bloodlines 2 will produce, this music piece
Rik got more according to his Instagram
Yeah! The cymbals from the original song in the background are there!! I always loved that little touch (1:49)
You know it's good when the first second has the same effect of the original one
few games have such a magnificent ambiance and love put into it! there will always be a special place (in my heart) for VtMB and Pathologic (HD and 2), i totally reccomend those games, and of course all the WoD lore. thanks for the upload! hoping not to get my hopes crushed by Bloodlines 2
"My mind is gone, my body follows"
Great modern update of this tune!
From what I understand this was heavily influenced by Massive Attack - Angel.
I believe they either wanted to license the track for the game but didn't or couldn't so this was what Rik created with elements of that track.
Rik cleared the air on this, in fact said he was NOT familiar with Massive Attack. His influence on this track was in fact himself and his growth as a person coming out of the darkness while he was composing Bloodlines 1. He said he wanted to take the original and make a more evolved and mature version that displayed almost a sense of reconciliation.
@@nastang87xx Interesting, do you have a source? I can find no mention of this anywhere.
You have to admit, it's incredibly close to Angel so I do, personally, find it hard to believe that he never heard the song in his life but I could be wrong.
I used to play the role-playing game with sheets and dice with my friends. Then the computer game and all that was many years ago. My 15 year old started playing this a few months ago and loved it as well to the point where he finished all the different race. When he told me that there was a sequel I could not believe but after reading and watching the videos, it is finally happening.
