    A little heads up here, do NOT adjust the chaintension before you have fixed the shaft on the brake side with the retaining ring. because you will tighten the chain even more when you center the bearing in the ring

    Very useful video. On older sleds you need tie-down straps to help align the rear suspension bolts. Also easier to put back together flipping the sled on the side. A chain bloc is a must for track replacement.

    Thanks so much for this video… Helped a lot putting a new track on an MXZ this weekend. Putting a 2.3 inch track on a 2022 backcountry X next… Do you know if the tunnel protectors need to be removed in order for the 2.3 inch lug to fit?

    I'm installing picks to the track of my 19' Backcountry. Do I just remove the four bolts to install the tunnel protectors?

      If you only need to take the skid out for better access to the track/tunnel. It would save you time by removing the four skid bolts and leaving the drive shaft in.

      I use a ladder, hammer handle across the rings, and a ratchet strap. Not pretty, but it’s shit I’ve already got, and it works.

    Hey man, I’m having issues with that rear shock touching the inside of my track and making a wear mark. Do you have any advice as to what to look for that could be bent and needing to be changed?

    A little heat on the caliper help it slip off much easier.

    Great video!!! I’m on the last ste and can’t seem to get the right torque specs on the rear bogie wheel axle nut is it 18 or 35 pounds? Or am o over thinking it and just get it as tight as I can 😂

    • @findingdimes5368
      @findingdimes5368 2 года назад

      If the rear axle bolt is 8mm torque spec is 18 ft/lbs, if its a 10mm torque spec is 35 ft/lbs. I think in 2020.5 or 2021 skidoo upsized the rear axle bolt to 10mm

      Glad you pointed that out! There is always hick-ups that occur when wrenching. Given you have the necessary tools and intermediate mechanical knowledge the whole process should take around 2hrs.

    My caliper is seized on and got the tool. Does that brp tool hook behind the caliper between the tunnel and caliper mount?

    • @Flametux
      @Flametux 2 года назад

      Yes it does. Take the chain case side off first and pull the drivers towards the brake side so you can get the tool behind the caliper

      @@Flametux Yep 👍

      I wish I read this yesterday. I borrowed the tool and struggled with getting the tool on. Then realized once I got it all apart that if you have the tool you need to start on chain side.
