    Small towns across America is the glue that is holding our country together. It's the morals, ethics, sense of pride and responsibility and old traditions that seems to get lost in large cities, but still found in small communities. THANK YOU for sharing.

    We live in Arizona and have hung an insulated curtain between the pilot and copilot seats to isolate the cockpit. That way the dashboard air doesn't have to work so hard. We stay nice and cool.

    Great video! Phil had me laughing again with forgetting the RV was running-they are just so quiet. Remember, generators love to be run, especially under load. When it's hot, turn it on and let the AC work while driving. Planes' cooling and electrical systems run on generators and are always running.

    I live in Texas. When driving, I ALWAYS run the generator and the roof a/c units. It's worth a couple gallons of diesel to have the RV cool when I get where I'm going. And if anyone is traveling with me, it's not even optional to run the a/c units!

    Phil, next time your near LA, I owe you a beer! Sometime in the last couple episodes you were doing something in your pass-through storage area, and you pulled out a three-legged stool to sit on. Since your slide was out it fit perfect underneath and allowed you a comfortable position to work without getting on your knees, or bumping your head on the slide. I had a couple of these stools sitting around from Bass Pro, and thought I'd give it a try next time around. Today was "next time", and my knees and head thank you... If you've shown this before, I must have missed it, if not you may want to show it again as it's a simple lite accessory that really works well.

Live about 30 minutes from Lantana Village but would recommend Hickory Creek CoE park in the area for 1/3rd the cost and more space. Like fellow Texan Connie commented, we run the ACs about an hour before arrival. Like y'all, since adding the EasyTouch thermostat, it is very easy to monitor and adjust.

    about 2 years after i bought my trailer I was dumping the tanks and I couldn't close the grey tank all the way> I grabbed a wire coat hanger and started fishing in the piping and pulled out a wood screw. Several months later the light fixture over the sink would not shut off, so I disassembled it and found another wood screw had fallen across the electrical contacts in the fixture closing the circuit and keeping the light fixture on. Also when I washed the roof for the first time after about 6 months I removed about a dozen wood screws from the drip edge of the roof on the awning side. I guess in the manufacturing process speed is so important that the cost of a few dropped screws; that will randomly show up years later, is of no concern to slow down production.

    For us, the worst buc-ee's to get in and out of is in Georgia interstate 75 exit 310. Getting in out can often be a struggle because of the way the pumps are all on one side. We never go to that one anymore.😮. Our favorite is exit 144 off off 75 at Warner robins Air Force Base. Pumps on both sides is just easy in easy out always even when it's wall-to-wall people. Next is the one at the world of golf in St Augustine. Costco is right across the street from it. We love that one too. The next one south on 75 exit 265 Daytona can be a challenge to get in and out of So we avoid that one too.

    Question. Why don’t you run your gen while driving ? We always have ours running when we’re on the road, Ac’s running all the time. The gen is rated around .5 gal an hour. Minimal for keeping everything running while traveling.

      Normally, we are comfortable up front and dont think about the back heating up. Our new thermostats alerted us of the rising temps. We will in these high temps from now on.

    At some point, could you talk about running your 50 amp rig on 30 amps? Curious how well that works. Any dos and don’ts? Can you run both AC units at the same time?

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  10 дней назад

      That is a great topic. We can run both on 50 amp. We can run both on 30 amp, but can't run and other major appliance without first shutting one off.

      Oh we did..eventually. We just didn't realize how hot the back of the rig was. We were comfy up front. Our new thermostats alerted us....that was a first for us.

    I had to laugh about the engine not being running. Last year I did a trip down to La from Wa with my '96 Sahara, and I believe I was in a station in Texas when I did the same exact thing. There were quite a few noisy rigs close by with refers running and such, so the lack of sound from my DP wasn't apparent until I realized that the controls weren't lit. Oopsie? The joys of a quiet DP I guess.

    Great video, guys. C'mon, Phil, brother, this road trip aint starting very good for ya. First, the brake issue, now you forget to put coins in the slot to make the noisey thing in the back work.
    I'm laughing with ya bud, not at ya.
    Seems I can remember someone years ago do the same thing at a busy boat ramp. Lots of traffic, noise, and got in a hurry. Wasn't funny then, but a bit humorous now.
    Well at least you get it all outta the way at first. Hope it's all fair weather and following seas Cap'n.
    Love y'alls videos and all you do for the vets.
    God bless y'all and stay safe on the road.

    How much discount did you actually get at Loves compared to other truck stops?
    My wife refueled the truck at Racetrak. She saw the Loves across the road was nearly $.50 higher for diesel.
    So the discount isn’t really a discount when you add the other fees attached to a fuel discount card.

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  15 дней назад

      We saved $24 on 50 gal of fuel.

      @@todayissomeday you didn’t save anything when Loves is 50 cents higher. You may have saved on the Loves price. But you could have saved fifty cents per gallon which negates your Loves discount. Racetrak has truck and RV lanes.
      Loves and Pilot are higher priced.

    Could you hook up your a/c to your inverter so you can run it off the solar while driving?

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  13 дней назад +1

      We could run it through the inverter and the batteries could run them for about 4 to 5 hours depending on what else was plugged in. We turn on the generator any time we need to run them while driving.
