GREAT News Mr.Hank by INFORCEING the "Read your Operator's Manuals ". Although viewing U-tube vidios are entering they can ONLY "Relay" 10% of what "Trak-tor Driver's " NEED to know befor they EVER push on the "Go-pedal ". There SHUR is a LOT to Know, besides oil level& changes,grease-monkeying, Lug-nuggets and "how to take the loader on& off. I myself have had ZERO incidents in 2000+ hours with my fleet in the last 7years; why? Because l STUDY the Operator's Manuals & don't treat them like "Bulldozers" Pay-loaders,or Track Hoe Excavators. Yes,these "baby tractors" are only for light duty enterprises. Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. Best wishes with all your endeavours. God Bless you &yours. Looking forward to the "Next ones".
I bought my very first tractor right after I turned 60, I now am 61 and my tractor has just over 300 hours on it, love every minute of my tractor time, be it moving snow, or, working with my friend on his farm, planted my very first garden as well. The grapple has been VERY fun to use. I had the rear remotes added when I bought it, so I am not limited by the tractor's ability to utilize any attachments I may acquire or rent for a single use. My brother-in-law had a derecho take out 14 trees on his property this fall and my tractor was the big game changer. Using the grapple for cleanup, I created a pile of brush 40ft long, 20ft wide, and 8ft tall. the grapple also helped buck the trees into firewood, (3 cords).
I was 54 when I bought my 1st tractor, wish I had bought one 15 years earlier! Also just recently purchased a power grease gun and it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Hank great tips. Sure you could go on forever about how to take good care of your tractor. Think with the newer tractors fluids a very important and keeping them running hot. I blow my grills and radiators out after every time I cut and bale hay.
Hey Hank. An old operator taught me to use 2 grease guns. One with red grease and the other with blue. Alternate them so you can see which fitting are greased or if your helper greased the machine correctly. OBTW a Dynahoe 190 I used to own had over 90 grease fittings on it! It would take some time to hit them all.
Yup, all good points Hank, treat your stuff as you paid for it, service it well and keep it clean. Because I worked hard to have what I have. 420h on my T474 without a lick of trouble, it hasn't even done a requested regen yet. Hank, funny fact? I too was 48 years old when I bought this tractor in 2020.
Yepper...I was 66 when I got my first one...cause I am too old to be dragging stuff around these days. If you have a tractor and don't have a grapple, you don't know what your missing!!!! Keep up the good work😊
All of those things are just common sense. No matter which machine I use on my farm (tractors, skid steer, side-by-sides, etc.) I ALWAYS check the oil before I start them up. The same with small engines. One point that I would add is to take your time and be aware of your surroundings. I one time almost dropped a tree limb right on top of me when my ROPS hit it. A manager that I worked for at one time said something that has always stuck with me. "Slow is smooth and smooth is fast". Don't be in a hurry and do it right the first time.
@@hhamilton1970 I’ve been checking his vids out to, and yours. It’s my first tractor I’ve ever owned lol. My whole life i always wanted one I’m 50 now and decided to go buy one. Glad i did
I have an 19 48 ford 8 n i use it for every single day i pull logs with it plow an disk an till the garden the grease boots are shot im wondering how well it handle a 4 ft brush hog
first of all i dont have a owners manual for mine because its 60 years old and heck it doesnt have a need for a starter even and it uses gas and diesel and it will outlive any new tractor this tractor its a mtz 50 was sitting for 8 years before i bought it (also im 20 years old bought it a year ago) and i just put fuel in it yanked the pullrope and the damn thing started and then the diesel started right after
I have a question of the day , I know this is down to the owner but whats your thoughts on changing engine oil once yearly or go by the manual it says 300 after the initial 50 hr service , I have a RK25 with 105 hours on it , Good video sir !
If you don't use it very often, changing the oil every year ain't a bad thing. I do it that way on my zero turn mower, but I put enough hours on my tractors through the year to hit the service intervals.
My Kioti CK2610HST says after 50 hour service, to change engine oil every 250 hours or once a year. Whatever comes first. I average 100 hours a year and change oil every spring.

Good tips, Hank! I was 40 when I bought my first tractor. 👊
Right on!

A lot of good points made here Hank! Great job!
*Keep on tractoring!*

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting.
Good tips for new tractor owners.
Thanks.
The Iowa Farm Boy.
Thank you sir
Ughhh, I seem to remember a recent video of you unsuccessfully trying to push a tree over.😮
I bought my first tractor when I was 60, I now have 3! Love them all!
That is awesome!
I’m 42 and about to buy my first tractor. Your videos are priceless to me. Thank you!
You're welcome! Have fun with your soon to be new machine! 👍

Very cool!
Good video! If you oil level is rising it is due to fuel or coolant dilution and that is bad.

That's solid advice👍
Great tips for us new owners. I just recently bought a new T25 and love it lol. Think i have 41 hours on it now. 50hr service coming up soon.
Very nice! Check out Tony's Tractor Adventure if you need some pointers for your 50 hour service👍

Should I read the owner’s manual or the Bible? You only have time for one. Choose wisely.
The Bible. All day. Every day. 😊
The main thing is be smarter than your equipment!!!!
Solid!
Indeed

Sure isn't going to hurt anything, and if it put's your mind at ease do it.
