Join me for another plein air painting adventure in New York City! This time I set up in front of the Bow Bridge in Central Park. Watch me complete a painting as I engage in some impromptu Q and A with a pair incredibly nice strangers...

I think you are doing more for promoting the joys of outdoor painting than anyone else. Your graciousness with people who are curious about your work is so refreshing. Beautiful!
Best compliment I could receive! Thank you so very much for your much needed words of encouragement Carl.
Beautiful! You are a kind and generous person with your time talking with folks during your painting session.
Thank you so very much for the kind words and your continued support of the channel!
This is one of your best Woodie. I love the simplification of the strokes in the background trees, brilliant economy of mark making. The bridge is painted superbly and I like how both the river and path echo each other directionally to lead us to the bridge.
Many thanks David! I very much appreciate your continued support of the channel🙂
Love your philosophy.
Thank you so very much for watching and supporting the channel Carol!
There's a fluidity, movement and energy to your painting much in the mould of artists like Van Gogh.
Thanks for the kind words and thank you for supporting the channel!
This is beautiful. Great video of your work with paint and with people.
Thank you so very much for watching and supporting the channel Kathy!
Another great video!
I love the painting and I love how you take the time and talk to people.
Take Care and happy painting!
Thanks for the kind words Greg! Happy painting to you as well🙂

Interesting conversation…
Thanks for watching Blaise! Glad you liked it🙂
Notan, big brushes, cloudy days.
There's a lot to learn from your conversations. 😃
Thanks for the kind words Michael! Glad you're enjoying the format. I'll keep them coming!
I especially like this one and I really enjoyed your conversation with Fran as well. Thank you for another wonderful video.
Thanks so very much for the kind words Wendy! Fran was was an absolute doll and our impromptu conversation really illustrates the unexpected beauty that can emerge from painting outdoors.
Awesome job, Woodie. Well done.
Thank you Bob!
So Woody I just discovered your channel today and have binged on 3 or 4 videos. Very relaxing and inspiring for a wanna be artist (me), whose dabbled in acrylics only at home. No control of oils they turn to mud, so went to acrylics rapidly. I suppose you use oils for plein air, but do you have an opinion re using acrylics for plein air. Enjoy and keep up the inspiring work.
Thanks for the kind words and support of the channel Terry! I'm personally an "oil" guy. I've tried many mediums but I've always felt more comfortable with the unique properties of oil paint. If I were more comfortable with acrylic or watercolor I'd certainly have no problem issues with using those as well. My advise would be to experiment until you find what's most comfortable for you. Then get to know it as well as you can. Hope this answers your question. Happy painting!
Enjoyed the video as well as the conversation you had. Last days I was painting en plein air, two ladies spoke with me but they spoke Frensch.
Painting is the universal language😉Thanks as always for watching and supporting the channel Jan!
I’ve always heard about how new Yorkers are rude etc etc but watching your videos I’ve seen so many awesome people like Fran stopping by for a chat.
You're absolutely right. I've only met a handful of rude people while painting, but I've met thousands of very nice people just like Fran. It's definitely one of the things that makes painting in the city so enjoyable. The human connection feeds into the painting process. Thanks as always for watching and supporting the channel!
I want to try plain air painting like you do so bad but I suck and I'm afraid im going to be a laughing stock😭
I felt that way for years. When I finally got up enough nerve to paint outside, I quickly realized it wasn't scary at all. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel Philippe!
Slowly making my way through your videos, man your definitely inspiring me to want to get my but out of the studio, I already have plein air equipment so I really need to dust them off. Just a quick question, I have been copyright strikes on nearly all my RUclips vids (also need to get back to making them again), where do you get your music as it’s pretty good? Cheers Leigh
Thank you for the kind words and continued support of the channel David!
What do you put in front of painting while in the box to keep it from getting damaged?
Is that ultramarine blue that you sketch with?
Yes. I usually indicate the general values of the scene with Ultramarine Blue. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Could we paint together and you give me pointers?
I'd be happy share my process. Shoot me an email and we'll set something up. Thanks for supporting the channel Qui Qui!
good one , just dont play ball.
Thanks Tony! Glad you liked it🙂
