The clue is in the title - Simple Syrup!. I don't know anyone who buys it. It is a lot cheaper to make your own, and you know what you have put in it. On that subject, do you know how long it will last in the fridge if I pop a weeny bit of vodka in it? Also, will you be going through some of the various other syrups that can be made with this simple syrup base? Oh, so many questions... As an aside, my tiki party was a fantastic success, and several of the cocktails I found on your channel were a big hit. I have spent the last two days tidying up though! As I write this, I am enjoying an Old Fashioned from one of your long ago vids. Cheers David.
Awesome news about your Tiki Event. I will do more syrups over time. With a little vodka, maybey two months with a lid on it. But I'm sure it won't last that long.
For the last few years I have been replacing the water with vodka. No heat just equal part or rich (depending on needs) in a bottle shake it a few times a day until all dissolved. Indefinite shelf stable and after about 2 weeks there is no detectable vodka flavour.
@@boozeontherocks get the cheap clean tasting vodka and have fun experimenting! Works for all sorts of sugars, including demerara that I always had less shelf life in the fridge
Easiest thing to make! I like using a scale to make it 1:1 per weight. Also a month! That's good to know. But it won't last that long with all the cocktails we make. Great video!

I will have to test that out. I feel it's experiment time.

It's Monday morning and I'm watching a guy boil water and sugar on RUclips...what a time to be alive lol
It's a great time :)
Is that an 8 ounce bottle ? Looks big lol, also where do you get your pouring tops ? I need some. I want to make mixing drinks a hobby for myself.
Hi, that is an 8 oz/240 ml bottle. Pouring tops?
Does it have to be white sugar? Can I just use brown sugar?
It is exactly the same for Brown sugar. Just remember that the colour and taste will be different.
