What ways do you use simple syrup? I use it typically to make lemonades and I can't wait to try lemonade with vanilla bean simple syrup! Give me some more ideas!
I have never made vanilla extract, but I will. My grandson made some simple syrup and he used the Madagascar beans. Looking forward to seeing what this can be used for. Very good, how-to!
Thank you! It is delicious 🤤 the post that goes with this has a whole bunch of ideas on how you can use it. But it definitely isn't all encompassing! capturingwonderland.com/madagascar-vanilla-bean-simple-syrup
@@CapturingWonderland Your demonstrations & methods are crystal clear - Smashing 😊 Made a batch of vanilla extract as per your instructions in early February this year, using grain alcohol I’d ordered from Scotland in January (plus distilled water)- really scary abv 😮 it’s doing it’s thing on a specially designated shelf in my garden shed, I intend resisting temptation, leaving it to melch for as long as possible … I have some grain hooch left over plus x 5 madagascan pods , so definitely concocting your vanilla syrup recipe next 😋 Thank you so much for the tips - much appreciated 🕊
@@MsJellyEggs You're so welcome! I am using my vanilla with grain alcohol batch right now and I can tell you it's the absolute best. My batch using spiced rum is almost due as well and I'm super excited to get to try it this holiday season in baking! Good luck with your vanilla experiments!
You could! It would be the same ratios, it will just end up with a more caramel-type taste due to the molasses in the brown sugar. I bet it will taste very rich and deep. You should try it! Report back!
You can use Vanilla beans even when they're dried out -- they will probably suck up a lot more alcohol lol but you can still try it! I would definitely give it a try if you have those. Half the fun is the experimenting!
Simple syrup outside of the refrigerator will not last very long, maybe 2-4 weeks. Inside the refrigerator it lasts much longer. Double fold will last longer on the shelf (twice the sugar to water) the higher the sugar content the longer it will last.

Yay! I can't take much credit for making it look easy lol because it really is super simple! Welcome!!
Can you use brown sugar and if so, what are the ratios?

Loved watching this video
Thank you! 🥰
Very good explanation.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome, thank you for watching!
can i use this for coffee?
Absolutely!
i was wondering if you could use vanilla splits instead of vanilla beans? or is the moisture levels too low?

Can I store on the counter if I put the extract in it? Thanks
I personally wouldn't. Even with adding the extract with alcohol in it. But I like to play it safe, personally!
I use this in my latte cold or hot 🔥
Yes! That sounds so delicious.
what do you think is the shelf life of this?

Great method. Sterilize the funnel
Good idea! I didn't think of it at the time, but probably really beneficial!
