Hotel Rwanda Trailer - Directed by Terry George and starring Xolani Mali, Don Cheadle, Desmond Dube, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Tony Kgoroge. Inspired by true events this film takes place in Rwanda in the 1990's when more than a million Tutsis' were killed in a Genocide that went mostly unnoticed by the rest of the world. Hotel owner Paul Rusesabagina houses over a thousand refuges in his hotel in attempt to save their lives.
MGM - 2004 - Кино
I have just finished watching this movie... Paul Rusesabagina is a great man, and I cannot thank him enough for his selflessness by risking his life in sheltering 1,268 refugees in the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. I am 14, and I believe that this movie should be shown to all teens my age, so they understand how dark life can be.
Sarah S agreed nice response
Not just how dark but how 1 person can have such a powerful impact.
you might get in a couple of years
@@bambaskaff1316 What?
@@sarahs6230 like you might watch in school in a couple of years I'm a senior and I'm actually assigned to watch it this year for international studies
bruh, this movie is WAY too underrated!!
Dude it has fricking 91% & 94% on rotten tomatoes. Thats not underrated
@@user-xp8wk1zt2p underrated doesnt mean people disliked it. I just think it needs to be KNOWN about more
How did Don Cheadle not win the Oscar for Best Actor. This is ridiculous people. Don Cheadle fit the part perfectly
Agree 100%. This is the biggest bull shit ever happened in Oscar.
i never really cared about oscars/awards...but knowing this now, i'm certain i never will.
723lion No. That would be for the fact that Saving Private Ryan lost best picture in 1998.

Seeing this as a human being makes you cry. But I understand, the closer you are to the subject of the story, the more personal it gets. Hope for better tomorrow is what keeps us alive.
He should have won the Oscar that year
Jamie Foxx was a tad bit better
@@heisen-bones Jamie fox is a horrible actor.
@@chotzrary you clearly haven't watched Ray. Please set your blind judgements aside
@@heisen-bones nope, seen it. Foxx is a terrible actor. How come he hasn't made another good with rave reviews of his acting. He's not an actor or a singer. Bye loser.
The movie is s awsome, so much better than the trailer shows.
Its not some boring history movie, its intense and sad 9.5/10
chills watching the trailer; tears watching the movie.
When I saw the movie it was in class and just I got chills and started to cry at many parts it's a sad but truly good story and at times I'm sure it's not completely how it was to the extent it was but just the movie honestly broke my heart to see the hatred, the evil, and just so many things in this world that are just incredibly sad. I'm sorry if I made no sense
In reality all that stuff is funded by white people. Let that sink in
it showcased a little of what happened, one day go visit the grand memorial site of this genocide in Kigali
@@Zhaturianvisionz Ok Whitofobe
An old "mate" showed me clips that are STILL haunting to this day... I had NO idea he was going to play them.... 1 guy in the middle of the road as adults AND children ran past him whilst sticking spears in him and booting him in the head..... You have NO idea the atrocities that went on....
Of which NONE would of had psychological treatment and help over what they saw and probably still do with flashbacks..
You saw a tiny tiny side of the genocide.. look at the recorded deaths (then add a few tens of thousands) that wouldn't of recorded all of them..
@Real Information Center lmao dude whatever.
A few years ago we watched this in high school, even as a 13 year it took my breath away, Don Cheadle was amazing.
Terrible events, but this film was a fitting tribute to everyone who lost their lives.
I studied the Rwandan genocide at university but didn’t know about this film, it definitely should have more recognition! I don’t know specifically about the hotel but everything else looks pretty accurate. Such a heartbreaking situation. I cried multiple times reading about it. How unimaginably frightening it must have been when the UN pulled out, just another time the UN have proved useless. This film must be so sad. Not sure I’m brave enough to watch it. Don Cheadle looks like he did amazing!
To be fair, the UN aren’t trained soldiers.
Wow sorry, jk. I read UN but my mind thought you said peace corps lol
@@KP-ej7gc UN peacekeepers are soldiers from different nations, they do a tour and wear the blue barrette. It's why you see a flag of different nations on the shoulder of each soldier, their country of origin.
How did you study the Rwandan genocide and not know this movie?
@@Notmyrealname69420 I guess university just relies more on academic research. Films may have been mentioned in passing but they’re still not reliable.
I've seen this movie once and trying to see it again but i literally can't get through it. Being that some of my family were apart of the story is just extremely horrifying, they did a wonderful job
My tears never had a chance to dry throughout this brutally emotional movie.Cheadle & Okenedo are just phenomenal.Paul Rusesabagina was an amazing selfless individual.
We're watching this in world history right now. We're not finished with the movie, but already I had a waterfall of tears running down my face and was trying my hardest not to burst out crying.
It's a sad and a little heart wrenching, but a good movie so far.
such a cry baby lol
I know. I am. xD
Cool we just got done watching it in world history :p
What did you think of it?
Just watched this in global history. Loved that movie
the trailer barely touches upon how scarring the movie is. Beautiful, but if you don't shed a tear in that movie you have a heart of stone!
I saw just 20 minutes of this in my Geography class. I want more
We're learning about this incident in history class currently.
I am speechless. Definetely worth watching
Nostalgic. I've watched this so many times when I was younger. Could consider as one of my favorite movies! Since then, whenever I see this protagonist in other film I get excited.
We in the West knew everything but did nothing: Rwandan lives simply didn't matter. This amazing movie is far smarter than most critics realized at the time. If you a fan of this movie and you didn't catch all the symbolism imbedded into the narrative, you have missed the message e.g. when Gregoire occupies the presidential suite he symbolizes dictators like Mugabe who take advantage of the chaos in their countries to illegally occupy the office of President. The shower scene when Paul eventually realizes that Tatiana has hidden the children and kept them safe is heartbreaking and worthy of the Bard in terms of its story-telling. Oddly for most of the movie, Paul acts like the slick wheeler-dealer leaders of first world nations while Tatiana represents Mother Africa. To begin with, Paul fails to listen to and respect Tatiana just as the West doesn't truly listen to Africa or respect her. A clever movie brilliantly constructed and superbly acted. One of my all-time favorites.
Reading The Movie Script.. About to Watch for First Time! Must Say, Film Is Eerie To Half of a Raisin Sun.
This movie brought me to tears.
Rwanda today makes me proud of Africa. And I'm not even from Rwanda.
Heartbreaking movie... OMG "Sometimes in April" is another heartbreaking Rwandan Genocide movie to watch...
Just finished watching this. That is why I am here.
A masterpiece about Genocide. 800.000 Tutsi's are killed by the Hutu's. Even the U.N.turns its back [ Nick Nolte] and only one man Don Cheadle manager of the Hotel Rwanda risks his life to rescue 1368 people.
I watched this in history class when i was in high school in germany thanks to my teacher. I forgot about the name and i am so glad to have found this now..! I have cried my eyes out in school - it's just SUCH a good movie.
people will watch the news at dinner time with warmth meals and they will say oh so bad
I weeped just on this trailer...
Beautiful, heartbreaking story.
Really put you into edge while watching this film
gonna be watching this movie in class next week.

chris khali what happened
@@plainjanex9970 he was arrested on charges if sedition and aiding Hutu Nationalists. He's denied these claims but his anti President Kagame stance is prevalent. Kagame is also not very fond of critics so the truth is blurred.
I watched this movie like 8 times and it's still my favorite
I cryed thro this movie
Very powerful film.
I am reading Rusesabagina's autobiography right now.
watched this in history class. sobbed in a class lmao thank god I sat at the back
I started watching this movie and it is very sad it almost made me cry:'(
I love this movie
This was an eye opening movie for me as a kid it’s heart wrenching
Watched this in Religious Studies class. Brings back memories.
Dr. KoNfLiCt Just like some we learn in Science "BigBang" therory not fact, not 100% proven
Many great movies only became nominations for the oscar. Hotel Rwanda, City of God, blood diamond, the color purple, those are to name a few... that being said, i don't get how 'silver linings playbook' could win (i know the reviews are good, i just don't find it that good, even hotel rwanda is much better to me)
Now Nigeria is going through the same thing now 😭😭😭. God help us
amazing movie
We watched this in religion class.. we were all crying
Great trailer - thanks:)
I am downloading this movie now, will watch it soon... :)
Great viewing
Very powerful film
As a Rwandan, I have been able to hear different testimonies of people who took refuge from Paul Rusesabagina in the Hotel. All they said was Paul only gave refuge to people who were able to pay him and he even threw some who were not able to pay him. So this movie is just another insult to the survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
that's sad...many movies based on true fact make you believe "oh, it was not so bad..." and are having a good ending when in fact the drama was all the way..."media" is hiding allot of the truth :/
Yes, that's a sad fact actually. Sometimes these movies hide a lot of truth and also tend to say things otherwise.
Adolphe Kalisa really??
Yes Arun Levi, if you want to know what really happened you can come to hear the testimonies of people who were really there. This movie is a total insult to them.
Sounds like bullshit kalisa
I have watched many historical films... This this is I wanna watch to know about the biggest tragedy in African history....
And of course for our beloved Rhodey......!!!!
We are watching this in social studies right now
Amazing movie but sad 10/10 rating for me.
Hutu and tutsi I love u all my you help human kind to learn forgiveness
i said hello to Paul Rusesabagina today
Why has Paul not return to live in Rwanda ? After watching the BBC docu something is seriously not right with Rwanda and i think the world has been duped by Kagame.
I know this is hella late, but because it's not safe?
David Jeong it is safe
@@dct4lif you should look into what really happened at that hotel, am sure you can be shocked that's hollywood
This really break my heart I never thought a normal human being will be able to hurt a fellow human being in a such manner
*get to watch it
I had to watch this movie in class when we were learning about genocide
I was wondering who made this orchestra song. That was amazing.
definitely a one for the family :)
This movie does not adequately cover the causes of the war, or the ongoing conflict in central Africa. It is, at best, a snapshot of a conflict.
Both Hutu and Tutsi bear responsibility, and the fact that we share this one sided film with kids in America is a shame. The wounds of Africa are deep, and rarely are they simple.
The most terrifying film! such inhumanity, violence and savage murder of innocent victims. Incomprehensible cruelty.
Most people will not do anything until it becomes inconvenient for them. History shows
I wanted to watch the movie but after I did some research about the truth behind this movie, I should not. I don't want to engage in a character that totally did the opposite in real life situation. This is so devastating.
All the superpowers Everything you believe in Paul, they re not going to stop this slaughter
You will cry trust me...
I have to watch this for school😡

I see the history that Lieutenant-General Romeo Dallaire from Canada and Captain Mbaye Diagne from Senegal were the real hero to save the victims
"We're Peace Keepers; not Peace Makers"... then I didn't you keep the peace?
Great movie but this trailer is so 2004. something about it . amaaybe it's the music, the monalouge, the bases on a true story.

You can tell it wasn’t filmed in Kigali with the lack of rolling hills
Knowing something of the tribal murderous hatreds in Africa in the 1960s and 70s, I cannot watch this. I must comment that I had a young male friend in college --- an Igbo.---who wept as he told me of the killings in Biafra and his whole family. With over 1,200 tribes such as the Tutsi and the Hutu, ethnicity is revealed as part of the whole in the simplest and most vicious ways.
Who provoked the killings in Biafra?
Hello warmachine
General Romeo de lar.
War Machine - Civil War
Why didn't he just equip his war machine suit and stop the advancing army?
How did such a hero be arrested for a terror attack.
