Hotel Rwanda is one of those movies that sticks with you forever, particularly due to Don's incredible acting.
Rwanada
@@davebruneau6068 Rwanda
I never felt so horrible 😞 and never really want to cry so much because I had no idea about the story.
It's not a true story ,thats what i read.
It was simpltly a phenomenal experience
I'm glad he's getting the recognition he deserves. Not just his MCU stuff. He's more than a guy in a robot suit. Such an amazing actor.
I love him in Ocean Eleven series especially when he using a very strong, strong over the top British accent (make of it what you will) which was a Cockney accent, and after he gives the order to Brad Pitt, George Clooney and the rest of team in a Cockney accent they all stand around because they didn't understand a word he said lol
he actually acted better in hotel riwanda than anything else lol
He’s been getting recognition long before he was ever in the MCU lmao
@@thedoctorplaysmc2321 he did, then it faded because of the bombardment of marvel.
It's a shame he's a child groomer.
How could you leave out the role he played in Rush Hour? That was the most iconic character. Don spoke perfect Cantonese!
WHAT!? 😳
That Cantonese was fantastic
Or the movie where he was Earl Manigault
Fun fact, he did the role if they promised he could fight Jackie Chan. He did
Hotel Rwanda is my first Cheadle film. Cemented him as one of my favourite actors ever.
Exactly
I saw him for the first time in that film too. That was a great film
Of course we all know Captain Planet is his most iconic role, I was dying laughing watching that
I completely forgot about that short and was delighted to be reminded of it in this video. I remember dying of laughter with my friends when it first released.
😂😂😂
Everyone will be trees. I'm captain planet bi*t*h
I think captain planet can win thanos easily
I love his character in Boogie Nights. Buck's struggle to find himself is very endearing and touching. It's strange how you can see bits of yourself in people who are so different than you if you just look with and open heart.
Buck was a good character
The scene in the Donut shop was epic!!
One of the greatest actors of our generation. His performances routinely anchor scenes, if not entire movies. Plus, when he wants to be, he's hysterically funny.
Funniest non comedian behind denzel in my opinion
Hotel Rwanda is honestly an underrated historical drama, that was the movie I was like this guy has made it
He's very underrated. His performances are always excellent.
Too bad he's a child groomer.
@@jay21281 What?? he is???
@@englandsensation Yeah. He pushes the trans agenda on kids through his twitter account.
Two Grammy Awards, a Tony Award, two Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, nominations for an Academy Award, two British Academy Film Awards and 11 Primetime Emmy Awards. Underrated? 😂😂😂
Your underrated comment is overrated
Hotel Rwanda was a masterpiece and Don is a legend for it
I've always wished he could've been nominated for his role in "Devil in a Blue Dress". He truly held his own against the great Denzel Washington
Mouse is one of his top roles!!!
💯
For the life of me I cannot understand how that movie wasn't bigger. Denzel and Don sizzled in that movie!
It was his villain turn in ‘Out of Sight’ that made me really take notice of him. Disappointed it wasn’t featured but he’s done a lot of good movies
Man I had wish they covered his small role in Rush Hour, that was my first Don Cheadle exposure even tho it was a small part. Glad to see he’s come so far man
Twisting Tiger!
"If you don't want him dead why did you leave him with me?"🤣🤣🤣 Don is a legend!!! You are appreciated sir!!!
"Where jopy".....
" Huh...he over there"
Devil in a Blue Dress is by far my favorite performance, he was so likeable, funny & unpredictable and i loved his loyalty, down to do anything for his boy

Don the Legend . Devil in a Blue dress is still one of my favorite movies ever
Would had loved to see him talk about Reign Over Me. Both him and Sandler are awesome in this one. A tough movie to watch but it's a gem!
Yes! Same
Just watched that movie recently, and it's phenomenal! Would've loved to hear him talk about it!
Yes, definitely a great film if one I haven't rewatched a lot due to it's heavy tragic subject matter. But well made all around and some of the humor does help to soften the harder moments to bare.
A very different kinda film he also excelled in was as the villain in Out of Sight! It's a pretty great film overall with great supporting cast, script, direction, editing, music, or everything : )
It's got George Clooney as the protagonist in a fairly early film role after the initial start of his years in the spotlight (he had struggled for recognition and roles for years).
But Cheadle's main villain makes things really intense and uncertain. Probably still one of the best villain roles and portrayals I've ever seen. (Sean Bean as 006 in Goldeneye is probably my top pick, but Cheadle's performance is neck and neck.)
Don Cheadle is one of the best actors in the world. Boogie Knights, Brooklyn's Finest, Crash, Hotel Rwanda, Traffic, Meteor Man, Rush Hour 2, Swordfish House of Lies. All these movies and he's still done Captain Planet MCU and 3 Oceans movies. Dude is the man!!
House of Lies, yes
Brooklyn's finest is an underrated film and a underated by him. Traitor is really good along with the films mentioned
Ocean's!
🤣 Great performance too.
I don't remember him in Rush hour 2....
Rush Hour 2? Who was he in Rush Hour 2?
The biggest underdog of Hollywood. Truly deserves every award.
LMAO he's not the underdog of Hollywood. He has won tons of awards.
A great supporting actor. See him in *The Guard* ( 2011 ). He was really great as the straight man
8:04 “I love it that the second movie is the one that people will just unabashedly walk up to you and go: “Yeah, I hated that one, that one sucked”. Like, cool, you just said that to my face like I’m not a person, but alright thank you.”
Don is a legend! 😂
This dude's filmography is insane. I forgot about Traffic and Crash. I didn't even know he was in Boogie Nights. I need to see it.
As someone who grew up on its reruns, that Fresh Prince episode is one of, if not probably my favorite episode in that series. So stoked that got mentioned in this vid!
His performance in Hotel Rwanda is one of those ones history will never forget!
“Wow, you just said that to my face, thank you.” 😂
An excellent and astounding actor, this profile was long overdue.
If I ever meet him Im proudly gonna say that no other Ocean movie makes me laugh more than the Twelve. People did not just understand it. Definitely my favorite.
Mouse is still my favorite Don Cheadle performance. Hands down should've received a supporting actor nod.
This man has deserved his flowers for ages
Absolutely love watching this man on the big screen. I hope marvel does him right and writes a script that his character and his abilities deserve.
Don is very well-spoken and an extremely likable guy.
"Anybody else wanna go green?" 🤣
Brings back so many memories.
Its crazy everyone has these amazing memories if him in all these wonderful roles, especially hotel Rwanda, but he first entered my list of actors i live when he had a minor role in the family man. He played like an angel trying to give nick cages character a glimpse into the life he would have had, and i was like he def has a lot of talent and afterward i just started seeing him more and more.
Him in brooklyns finest was amazing
Among his great acting in serious roles, I loved him as Basher Tarr. Especially for his British accent 😂😂
One of THEEE VERY BEST ACTORS of our generation. Sir Don Cheadle 🤝🏾
Such a class act, love Don Cheadle!
Give this guy an Oscar, NOW

Hard to believe Don Cheadle is the same guy in Ocean’s 11 and Hotel Rwanda. Really like his style. Articulate speaker and seemingly humble person.
Don Cheadle is criminally underrated.
Loooove Don Cheadle as an actor. Such a brilliant actor. :)
And totally forgot about Captain Planet until now.... lol
until he pointed it out, i never spotted will was mouthing don's lines 😂

I've loved Don Cheadle ever since I saw him in the role of Mouse in Devil In a Blue Dress. I haven't seen all of his movies yet, but it has been amazing to watch the progression of his career over the years.
Watched this without captions, which I never do. But I have been WAITING for Don CHEADLE on GQ to break down his iconic characters!
I can't believe the movie Rebound: The Legend of Earl "The Goat" Manigault wasn't included. I think that was the first thing I saw Don in and it was great!
Thats when i knew he was gonna be a beast
Finally! The one I’ve been waiting for. Don Cheadle is a fantastic actor
Ocean and the Guy Ritchie movies are his most iconic roles for sure.
How are they not gonna add “Colors” for his role as Rocket? But I’m glad he’s getting his recognition.💯

Absolute travesty that Rush Hour 2 isnt on here!!! So iconic that Kendrick Lamar named his alter ego after him for his Pulitzer prize-winning album! Don even reprised the role in a music video for it
I was just saying this
"His name is Lee, goddamnit!"
He was only screen for 3 minutes tops
@@Youngstylen those 3 mins deserved an oscar nom
Crash, Traffic, Hotel Rwanda, Devil in a Blue Dress, all amazing movies with Don Cheadle resonating on screen. He's such an underrated powerhouse in the same vein as Giancarlo Esposito.
How could y’all not talk about Black Monday? Such an iconic role
I was hoping he would talk about his role as Sammy Davis Jr in the The Rat Pack and the movie Traitor. I think he's probably one of the most talented actors of his generation and in no way gets the recognition he deserves.
I love how many movies you went through. Reminds me of the massive career you've had. Incredible actor.
Great interview! I loved his performance in Out Of Sight, which is such a wildly underrated movie.
Me too--That is an excellent film and I'm really due for a rewatch now after all this talk in the comments about his career.
I still haven't seen Hotel Rwanda, but maybe I'll wait til spring maybe before watching such a heavy and depressing movie.
"Reign over me" is my favorite of his, both cheadle and Sandler was amazing in that movie
Holy crap! Why is Brooklyn's Finest not on this list?
YES! I'm so glad Captain Planet was mentioned!
Lol, I didn’t expect to see Captain Planet on here (even Fresh Prince.. which I love), but I love that it is! 🤣
The first character/time I saw Don Cheadle was Hotel Rwanda. You can imagine what that did to my kid brain. When I saw he replaced Terrence Howard in Iron Man, I was over the moon. I knew what this type of role would allow and that some people would even look into his other roles as a result of this one role. I was happy to see that, to say the least.
I love him as war machine, he adds his own spin on the character its great.
The fact that his role in Rebound where he plays NYC streetball legend Earl Manigualt constantly gets overlooked is nothing short of a tragedy
He has a lot of great performances. The first movie I saw him in was Hamburger Hill
this guy is humble and deserves everything
Love Chead he's been awesome in so many movies. How are they going to leave Rebound out? That was my intro to him way back in the day. Unbelievable performance and story!
Same! First time I saw him he was playing The Goat...foreshadowing at it's finest. Also where I learned to spin a basketball on my finger.
one of my favorite things about the cast of the avengers is that they all pretty much address each other with their last names.
Mouse in Devil in a Blue Dress is my favorite. What a performance 🔥
Cheadle the Great! I wished they asked him about his TV series Black Monday. It was such an awesome show.
His role as “Mouse” in “A Devil in a Blue Dress” is underrated and iconic!!!!!🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍
He is an awesome actor in iron man and ocean 11,12 and 13
Hotel Rwanda is one of the best movies I've seen Don cheadles a real legend
Very sad that you missed "The Guard",that movie is very good, actors, humor🔥🔥🔥
I loved Hotel Rwanda such a POWERFUL movie Don KILLED it as Paul

He deserved that Oscar nomination for Hotel Rwanda, that movie was gut-wrenching
He was good in house of lies too loved that show
Hotel Rwanda is def my favorite film of Don’s. He does such a fantastic job.
Haha “take 2 hours take 2 hours!” That is so funny to me
I actually really liked Oceans Twelve the second one. I was up north with family seeing it in a small theater and it was just a lot of fun to see
Crash was one of my fav films when it scans out.

I like how he doesn't let the interviewer get away with the Aunt Viv jab.
Would've loved to hear him talk about Traitor or The Guard.
Yeah I was q bit disappointed he didn't mention the garda, he was good in that
Great actor. And glad he gets his own movie in the mcu he can hold his own for sure hopefully the script and everything is/goes good

We need a part 2.
I love that guy!!!! Thank you Don!
So glad he mentioned Devil In A Blue Dress. Such an underrated noir! Mouse was for sure the most memorable character.
Hotel Rwanda is one of my all time favorites. Learned about what happened in History class in 11th grade (for some reason)? I’m not sure why I don’t exactly remember but it’s always been one of my most favorited since.
Letting out Brooklyn's finest and rush hour is criminal. Tango was his slickest charakter.

I don’t know why, but I’ve always absolutely loved Don Cheadle. I think it might be his voice.
Can I just say I have loved Don Cheadle since his movie Devil in a Blue Dress.
8:09 that's Don Cheadle right there, you can't script that! Love that guy!
loved Don in Devil in a Blue Dress
We're forgetting Kenny in Rush Hour haha
The black man with the chinese restaurant on Crenshaw? 😂💯
Don Cheadle is such a good actor, nobody in-universe even noticed he wasn't Terrence Howard anymore.
Uuuuuuhhhh.....yeah we did.lol
Ive became a fan of his when I watched him in Crash. That was such a great movie. Then i started to dig deep and saw Traitor, Hotel Rwanda, The Oceans movie, etc i was stuck! Definitely underrated awesome actor ❤
My introduction to Don was out of sight (another soderberg movie) with clooney & Lopez and he’s great in that. Such an underrated actor.
house of lies man one of my favorite shows ever
Love Don he is so awesome
I heard about that captain planet late and it was awesome too glad he did it
Don Cheadle word of the day: Awesome
Great actor one of my favorites! I wish they included mission to mars he resonates with me in that one, first film I saw him in after fresh Prince. (I was young lol so my memory of then is sparse)
I pray we keep him for many decades to come!!🙏🏿

Hotel Rwanda was phenomenal. He was brilliant
I love his filmography! He also speaks so well
Freddie Gibbs is so talented.
criminal that this doesn’t have more likes LMFAO 💀
Too many amazing roles. Miles Ahead is one of his most underrated films!
Still need to see that. Thanks for reminding me!
