@@PG2248CoasterNews If I remember it correctly, Wendell not being awarded the race immediately was intentional. I believe it was the fact that NASCAR knew at the moment the race finished, Wendell had won it. They just didn’t want any trouble with the local crowd, (the south in the late 60’s, can’t say I blame them) so they gave it immediately to whoever was in 2nd and when everyone had cleared out they gave Wendell the check and acknowledged the win like 3 weeks later.

If he does, it'll be a repeat of Kevin Harvick from 2020. A driver who was a top-4 driver all year, only to get screwed out of contention not because he finished badly, but because he finished badly in the wrong races. NASCAR playoffs are a joke.

Bubba deserved it. Pretty much avoided a wreck in front of him and a hard charge to the front. Every driver and chief knew the rain was coming so it really was all timing. And its still considered a win forever in NASCAR history

Bubba wheeled his car to the front and was in the right place at the right time. Besides, track drying wouldve taken hours, and Talladega has no lights, so there was probably no way the race was gonna get resumed. Bubba deserved the win. Keep crying all you want buddy.

Except everyone complained in 2019 when Justin Haley won at Daytona and in 2016 when Chris Buscher won at Pocono by staying out and not being competitive all day. Except they were white, so people weren't called racist for not being fans of the wins. That classic double standard

I'm new to nascar so I'm still trying to learn all of the tracks. Why is there so many cars that get wrecked at talladega?
Because the cars run so close together, if one car spins, it can cause a chain reaction that takes out a bunch of cars. I think the biggest crash took out 28 cars at once.
Finally someone’s said it. The drivers back in the 00s and early 2010s were saying how much ‘Dega ruins people’s cars..
That's the why they called Talladega the junkyard track
Perhaps whom ever causes the crash or series of crashes would have to pay for all the repairs of all the cars in the crash, that might just create a new mindset
Maybe you go get that tire going down etc fixed before it blows up and takes out 5 other cars.

This was a win, you get them how you can get them. He survived wrecks, and put his car were it had to be to get the win. There has been alot of great drivers in the past who got rain wins, Earnhardt, Stewart.ect...

A year and a half late. Sorry Bubs..such a class person who deserves much more than he has. I've never seen a driver with so much bad luck. Nearly every second half, he works his way to the top 10 only to get pushed back by a wreck, car problems or weather. Bubba Wallace is not an official race winner in my book. That’s the only way he was to win. A lucky break in a rain shortened race. He doesn’t have what it takes to win a full race. Bubba Wallace and Danica Patrick are tokens for the sport of NASCAR. They both are allowed to race in nascar to try to get more Women and African Americans to watch. They are not real contenders to be nascar champions.

Jr's last win came from rain. Kurt Busch won from rain, Bowyer has won from rain. It doesn't matter who the driver is, strategy is a key piece to winning a race and they used the weather to their advantage. Every driver would have been saying the same thing were they in Bubba's position.

A road course sort of levels the stress across the four tires, at superspeedways though, the constant stress on the same areas throughout the track would devastate current rain tires within 10 laps, let alone 20 or 30, particularly with the left-side tires.
