@@skynet0813 I don't really understand that as well, I can see why people would dislike him back then but currently he's improved and is SUPER entertaining. One of the only drivers left who has no problem expressing their opinion. Absolutely love it lol.
I raced micro sprints and sprint cars back in the late 2000's and early 2010's. I heard through the grapevine about this kid Kyle Larson who was working his way up into USAC midgets and he was dominating. He was only a year or two older than me but I still found myself becoming a fan the more I watched him race and realize he was so much better than I was, and so much better than anyone I had ever raced against. I knew he was different. He got into sprint cars and kept showing his worth and making incredible moves that no one else would ever think of much less make happen. I remember him getting his shot in K&N with the 6 car and translating into pavement racing like a pro. That was the moment when I realized that he might not just be the next World of Outlaws star, but that he could make it in NASCAR too. It was tough, him never really having a full time ride in the truck series or the xfinity series, always watching him part time. Then the break comes with the cup series and I knew he'd do amazing. The start was quick but he was never able to finish off the races. The equipment was good but it was delicate and he was still learning how to manage it. He got his few wins with Ganassi and I was elated. I knew he'd made it and was finally getting the recognition he'd been getting from the lesser known dirt racing scene for years. I won't dwell on it but obviously the unfortunate incident that led to his suspension. I hated it but at the same time thought that taking the year off could get him an opportunity to run for a fellow dirt guy like Tony Stewart or with another very competitive team. I heard he was signing with Hendrick and knew this was the year. After the incredible 2020 he had on dirt he was on a role for an amazing year. Finally in top tier durable equipment. He lit it up and had one of the best years in Nascar's modern era. All during this race I kept saying, he doesn't have the best car, but if he can somehow get track position, he's easily the best driver and will do something amazing to hold on. I was right and I have never been so happy to be right in my life. I've been a fan of his since he got the break to drive for Keith Kunz in USAC midgets. To follow someone for so so long to finally see them at the pinnacle is an indescribable happiness. The best day of my life.

ACTIONS very much speak louder than WORDS. My man Larson regardless of what he said, is a great driver. he and chase will be the new Johnson and Gordon rivalry. Calling it here.
IMO, it was destiny for Larson to win the championship in the end. Body damage that makes the car faster, a caution with 35 laps left, then an 11.8 second pit stop that moves him from 4th to 1st. Elliott and Larson are my two favorite drivers. To have them win the title in consecutive years is almost to good to be true. Great job on this Radioactive. Not as much yelling or humor but it really told the story and captured the emotion of the day.
Hands down, he will go down a the Greatest racer of all time! Not just stock car racing, but in ever aspect of racing. Dirt Sprint's, midgets, non winged sprints, late models and now Nascar stock cars.
Kyle effin Larson winning the championship on his comeback season is crazily and rarely fabulous! Still can't move on from this, so do y'all?! He's not lucky but he's meant to redeem where he left off.
we the fans are so proud of you . back in july i predicted you were going to win the chamionship. and i was right. congratulations, kyle. you deserve it!
Definitely was rooting for the #19 from lap one. He was my driver ever since he took over the 78 car, and that was my hometown team here in Colorado. I only ever got to see their car up close once, in race once, and their shop once before they closed. I'll always follow Martin wherever he goes, but if he didn't get another trophy, Kyle was nothing short of deserving. Congratulations to him.
I remember being on the edge of my seat when Truex won the title in 2017. Something tells me that if it hadn't been for the money stop falling short, he woukd have won the 2021 title.
As much as I wanted Truex Jr. to win, it’s awesome seeing Larson become the champ, I remember seeing him being up front so many times in races when he drove the 42 and thought about how good of a driver he is, so he deserves to be the champ.
So neat to see Larson get his first championship! Whether it’s a sprint car or a cup car- the man can drive the wheels off of it. It was also nice to see at least a marginally exciting Phoenix race.
Probably the most deserving champion this sport has had. The sanctioning body, some of the fans, his team, sponsors and manufacturer left him and nobody was willing to give him a second chance in 2020. Then this year Rick Hendrick took the risk and paid for most of the races out of pocket and the kid delivered with 10 wins, 20 top 5's, 26 top 10's, most laps led in a season and the 2021 championship. That's what you call atoning for your mistakes (even though it shouldnt have cost Larson at all from the start) by taking the time off and honing your skills to become a even better race car driver.
I don’t know man Jeff gordans 1998 season he had 13 wins, 26 top 5s and 28 top tens also with 33 races and Larson had 10 wins, 20 top 5s and 26 top tens in 36 races so yes it was 100% deserved but not better than 1998 season
@@evanjonez914 on a statistical front yes Gordon's 1998 season was great as well but I am just considering the extenuating circumstances stemming from 2020.

So cool for the bounty of Larson's season, and this race especially, to have been in Ricky's colors.
I can only imagine how Rick feels seeing that car win 10 races and the championship. Such a great season for Hendrick as a whole

Yeah! He had a dominant season! He won 10, but could've easily won more (Pocono, Cota, Atlanta). Truly no match for him this season!
His torch was passed by Jeff Gordon
This broken format accidentally gave the championship to the right guy
