Local cautions at road courses. No stage cautions. I like the expressed daylight time limit. This should be decided and announced before each race in case its necessary to try and race till the sun starts to set.
I think they have a time in mind for such situations going into the race, would be a good idea to at least inform teams in driver’s meeting if they don’t do something like that already. No point really in keeping it secret.
As for cautions, they have to go full-course if they have to deploy safety vehicles. With NASCAR, the issue has been that they go FCY almost immediately like an oval race when they didn’t need to. Here I think they generally did better with that.
We had rain last year and then they scheduled the race for 3pm. Does that make any sense to anyone? A timed race with multiple teams and team cars is a disaster waiting to happen. Race the full distance or don’t race at all.
