Oh . .wow . Stevie is magical. I can hear such sadness and nostalgia in her voice. An almost longing for something you can never have again. A feeling. It's gone now.
The best part about this clip is we get to hear her real voice as it is today without the layering and technical enhancements that go with an album or recorded live show. LOVE HER!
I mean, her voice is also a bit different because of the condition of her nose and because she smoked for 13 years. Don't get me wrong though, I still love her! :)
I remember Stevie saying she wrote "Gypsy" as a tribute to the memory of her best friend Robin Anderson, who died of leukemia. I first saw her perform this live in 1982 during the Fleetwood Mac "Mirage" Tour. This video is just fabulous. Thank you for posting. Back to the floor that I love
To a room with some lace and paper flowers
Back to the gypsy that I was
To the gypsy that I was
And it all comes down to you
Well, you know that it does, well
Lightning strikes maybe once, maybe twice
Oh and it lights up the night
And you see your gypsy
You see your gypsy
To the gypsy
That remains
Her face says freedom
With a little fear
I have no fear
I have only love
And if I was a child
And the child was enough
Enough for me to love
Enough to love
She is dancing away from you now
She was just a wish
She was just a wish
And her memory is all that is left for you now
You see…

Stevie is the most beautiful. I can't imagine my world without her powerful voice and honesty. If I don't listen to her daily..I miss her in my heart. Just simply love her ❤
This song makes more sense to me now at 67 than it ever did my whole life and it's my favorite song I named my daughter gypsy. This version made me cry because this is the way it should be song this is very profound song. Stevie you had so much for sight. This is just the wow factor and aha moment for me. I bow to you.
i also named my daughter gypsy,,,but the song that was playing after she was born was " turn around bright eyes"....total eclipse of the heart!!!!
