I was the 7th person to like this video :-)
Thanks as ever Andrew!!!
I've done that before too hahahahahahahaha! In the video where Paul was trying to show how we're supposed to paint skies hahahaha! The English sky hahahaha oh my god I'm laughing by myself...
You are the best teacher ever!!! Thank you!!!!
Wow, thank you Kali!
Birds are fly, there is no one cry, brush is dancing, colours are romancing, my heart goes in bottom of silence of this painting. And saying everything is beautiful . My goodness to watch this. Thanks a lot.
Well said - lovely comment!!! - thanks
A wonderful landscape, hauntingly beautiful background music and that joke😂😂😂. Loved every bit of your tutorial.
Thank you so much 😃
Loved this composition. I will give it a go. The Angus joke was hilarious.
Cheers Lora!
Love your style of painting. I think I will try this.
Thank you for the laugh! And another wonderful tutorial. Currently stuck here in the frozen tundra of Texas (never expected this crazy event) in the USA with no power and water for several days. Charging the phone in the car just so that I can watch some watercolour videos and communicate. Have a lovely day!!
At least you've got your priorities straight! Before this mess started I brought all my watercolor supplies in from my studio...if I had to I'd sleep with them to keep them warm. We're in The Piney Woods and have fared well being on our small electric coop. Today's ice will tell though. Truly praying our pines don't start snapping.
@@TXDHC Yes! We need our sunshine 🌞 Keep safe!
Oh no! - sounds bad - good luck with it and stay warm!!
It's the happy accidents that I love. I would love to go to Scotland someday. It's in my blood being Waddell that is. Enjoy the soul and skill. Carry on Paul Clark with the excellent teaching. Thank you.
You must do it Melissa!!!
Oh Paul, what a beautiful place.... I want to stay there for a little while and let the wind and the sea blow all my cares away.... I LOVE it!! and yes, I am laughing out loud at your joke... What a gift you are! Lot's of love from Alabama
Glad you enjoyed it Shirley!!
Lol, that’s a good joke and an amazing class, Paul! We can’t thank you enough for the inspiration and beauty you bring to the world. I’ll be waiting for the next week video impatiently 👏🏻🤩👍🏻
Thanks as ever Elena!
Just finished this one. After my Mexican House and Provence Waterfall, I decided to go light on this one, so my bank is more taupe and less splattered. Turned out all right. Has that sense of quiet solitude I was after. Thank you again Paul for another wonderful tutorial.
Thank you for sharing Bianca!
Oh, my dear wee mother, a third-generation San Francisco "native" McEwan, would have loved that story! In fact I'm sure she's with Nessie now, yucking it up. This painting is my favorite of all I've watched you do : inspirations, modifications, surprise elements around every turn! I can't expect to be able to follow your genius, but you so inspire my soul! Thank you for sharing it with us far-off admirers.🙋🏼♀️
Lol! Thanks a million Sharon
Der Mr. Clark,
I started painting many years ago, but only during my holidays. Later on, during my years as a teacher, with 2 children, a husband, a house and a big garden, there was no time for painting. Now I have 76 years and during the pandemic in 2020 I restarted painting and devellopped a passion for it. I painted after tutorials on RUclips, but did not dare the loose style of yours. But when I discovered your scottish paintings, I decided to give it a try! Scotland is our "place of longing" and we will stroll around in the Highlands with our Camping car this summer, for the 4th time! In one afternoon I have painted the scottish croft and I think it is not too bad.
Thank you very much for the inspiration! Of you would like to see my painting, please tell me where I can post it to.😊
Elisabeth from Germany
Lovely comment Elisabeth and thanks for sharing!
Thank goodness another that believe as I do to let the watercolours play on their own before trying to lift, put in, etc. I am self-taught because I believed my mother was the artist, I was more into musical instruments. After her passing when I was about 50 I thought I'm going to give it a go. Started with acrylics, enjoyed it but wasn't very good. So I went to watercolours (Mother always said she was afraid of watercolours and painted in oils), What a blast! Watercolours taught me more about colours, composition, etc. You should see my acrylics now!. Now I jump from acrylics to watercolours to multimedia (freedom at its best!) I never knew I could use my acrylic inks in watercolours. Thank you SO much and for teaching me that I can use pastels too. (Did a test drive with that too as well as watercolour pencils.) Thank you so much for your wonderful and informative RUclipss. It is always a "pick-me-up",
Thank you too and delighted to hear I can help!
It always looks so easy when you do it. Doing it by myself, it's ending in a mess. But I try! Greetings from Germany.
😁😁😁 I was just going to write exactly the same thing! And also greetings from Germany 👍
Ditto!!!
Me too! Greetings from Canada.
You can do it! - just lots of practice!
I paint my own version using the techniques I know work for me. The results are very good.
You are a fabulous artist, instructed and inspiration. Always a pleasure.
So glad you think so!
So look forward to your paintings every week! Thank you so much Paul x
You are so welcome
Having taught painting to young children for years, I must tell you you are a lovely teacher. I appreciate your calm, step by step guidance, you set a beautiful trusting tone. And Laughter is a magic ingredient!

MARVELLOUS CANT HAVE ENOUGH WATCHING YOU IS LIKE WATCHING GOD CREATING NATURE.... EXCELLENT SIR !!!
Nice of you to say.... cheers!
I’m new to painting. Started during the shut-down. I’m loving it and hoping to keep improving. I’ve watched this particular tutorial of the Scottish Croft at least 8 times and I can’t get enough. I was halfway done painting it when I had to have both eyes operated on so I’m finally ready to finish. Can’t wait!! Thank you for your excellent instruction. It makes sense to me when I watch your videos.
Wonderful! many thanks and delighted to help!
Thanks for giving the ingredients to this ...much like baking a cake....you are terrific!

I love the organized chaos of the foreground!! It looks so much more alive and realistic than trying to paint in all the minute details would. And thanks for the encouragements to branch out beyond just watercolors themselves to create a masterpiece!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for another great one! Beautiful to see how that cobalt blue / Payne’s grey mix creates such a dramatic sky. Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome!
I did this painting yesterday and while I haven't looked at it today, I've already done a "morning review " in my head. Couple of adjustments needed I think. I'm loving your tutorials. Good joke too.

Hey Paul, since I found your RUclips Channel just two weeks ago I can't wait so see every day one or two or three... of your fantastic videos!
And when I've seen them all, I'll just start over :-D I love your personality and your humor!
Along with your great technique and detailed explanations, it is a pleasure to watch your videos. Actually, I was just looking for inspiration and a few tips to broaden my horizons. I have been painting with watercolor for many years, but always only ordered animal portraits strictly according to the photo. But I also want finally paint freely and your videos were a joy to watch. I would like to thank you very much for your work, it's great! Yesterday I also ordered your book and I will also buy your brushes soon :-)
Best wishes from Germany, Claudia

Paul - I've been following you from Northeastern Wisconsin - USA. I'm new to watercolor, and your videos, book and tutorials are the best I've seen. I just want to thank you for your generosity in providing vital details for us beginners (brushes, paint color names, paper, techniques - and above all - the wonderful background music and your sense of humor! Your tutorials feed our knowledge - as well as our spirits! Bless you for all you do. I just ordered your "shameless self promotion" gold brush set and will be ordering your book shortly. Thank you for being an oasis during this dessert of uncertainty and isolation.

Fab tutorial once again thank you Paul. I didn’t have the inks and I’ve always struggled with such loose ‘spray, drop in colours, let it run and do it’s thing ‘ (Im too neat/ control freak!) but this time it worked, just with the paint mixes and the salt!! Yay!!! Im slowly becoming a painter. 😁
Wonderful Karen - keep it up!

Really interesting to see the effect you create using different media. You make it look very simple as always. I love the sky. Thanks as ever for a stimulating tutorial
Thank you very much!
I really am beginning to like your demonstrations Paul, awesome!
Great to hear!
Incredible..... loved every minute
Thanks a million!
Simply brilliant! You venture so bravely into all those areas that we usually admire in other paintings and feel its not for us, surely we cant do it. But you venture forth in your masterly way and do it so well, in the process gently encouraging us to give it a try and keep at it till we excel. Such brilliant techniques in this one. And the last bit where you wet the paper and added clouds- wow! After completing such a beautiful painting I would have been scared to add cauliflowers in my clouds, but you yet again ventured forth and added them, thereby telling us how to fix things.
Lovely comment - thanks so much!!!
Beautiful!! Thank you!!
