Given that he himself said he wouldn't let anyone drive his car, it's not surprizing he'd get _a bit worried_ with someone else driving it at high speed on a race track... but he did crack a smile here and there, when he was sure the car will survive the corner or bump 😂

Fun fact: Only the 1 and 2 series (m140i and m240i) in the previous generation was an m performance amongst the 1 to 4 series lineup. This meant they have ~15kw more than the 440i and 340i.
And the other fun fact that you didn't mention was the 340i and 440i both had the options for the M Performance power and sound kit which bumped power to 265kw / 500nm through a tune and valved exhaust (similar to the M3/M4 cars)

Wicked cool lap Misha! At the 06:20 mark you said birds and it made me realize that the loud exhaust noises actually protect the wildlife with a warning to get out the way. I used to work at a place that was out on some crown land and out of the 50 plus workers there in 5 yrs I was the only one that hadn't hit a deer. I can not for sure say that was only driving skill, but a loud AF car stereo system probably helped the most, they would hear it over a mile away and move. Most people will push and hold the horn on steady, I find this has the opposite desired effect, if you rapidly pulse the horn off and on it's like they can tell you are getting closer and tend to move away quickly. I wonder if EV's have more than their fair share of deer or wildlife strikes because they are almost silent?
I see deers maybe twice a week on my commute. See dead ones often and only ever had 1 cross in front of me. I see they actively avoid my LED headlights, backing away rather than getting stuck staring like they do with lamps.

Always blows my mind the number of big money, big power builds people do without getting the absolute basics like suspension and alignment set up first. Great car with great potential, but as ever, track time first, get everything dialled in, then power last *if* you find you need it…

Exactly, all upgrades are good, just the LSD and it's perfect. Also in my opinion the F30 looks waaay better than the Gthing (i think it's the G30) and for sure looks better than the G80.

It did seem off from 500, especially if this is supposed to be whp. Even 500 crank seems way too much. These tuning shop are so often full of bs when selling their tuning products and then blaming the poor dyno,wrong gear,not optimized for 4wd, humidity/temp., unknown 35% loses,... anytime you get a car tuned you take it to a dyno in next town over to verify
@@thomasvennekens4137 Won't happen. If you bring your B58 to the track and drive it a few laps, you would be shocked how much timing it's pulling. I had 3 B58 cars and lapped the Ring a lot. The cars are pulling timing sometimes with better fuel than it's mapped for on a cold day. I can guarantee, that it will pull lots of timing on the track, sometimes even close to knocking events. That's why it will never be that fast from 100-200. Also you don't know which fuel it was running, most people run 98 octane from closest petrol station because they don't know about Aral in Breidscheid or want to drive there. And it pulls even more timing with 98 octane on the track, even if it's mapped for it.
@@vinniw.3848 it was at the start when he passed the cones so the extra laps you are talking about arent relevant . I know once the iat's rise because of the soaked IC system your power will drop . The mhd stage 2 hpfp map has two options either 95oct or E40 . That latter one generated 495 whp with stock turbo . And zero timing pull . Ive also beta tested a 93oct map for stage 2 hpfp . But that wasnt any faster compared to.a normal stage2 because of pulled timing . They also ran on sport+ so the fuel map isnt completly free , you have to use dsc off for that .
I think that’s what’s referred to as marketing, having had the 330d and now a 340i I can vouch for this sensation. You have to be really committed to make it work with an open diff, come off that point to soon and you make for the ditch! Really hoping an lsd is going to make the car….before going stage 2
"E-LSD" is what bmw calls their open differentials. They use the rear brakes to try and mimic an lsd, but its only active with traction fully disabled, and it doesnt work very well.
Kind of ridiculous for an M car to have no lsd... Even my non M 90's Bmw has one. Would've expected at least torque vectoring since I know they like to do that instead of using mechanical lsd

To me that is a pretty fast car. You drove that thing well. The owner seemed a bit worried but he was vibing for the most part.

The MPPSK package he said he had installed is a valved exhaust system, with the valves closed it's fairly understated

As the weight balance is out, and that will be corrected by adjusting the ride height per corner.

Among B58 and N54/N55 owners it is more often than not max power first then work on handling afterwards.

It's not an M340i. M340i have a LSD from the factory and are G20 chassis. F30 340i are open diff and are not an m light vehicle.
This is the 340i with M Performance Power and Sound Kit (MPPSK) so yeah it’s no M340i
But it significantly benefits in being rwd instead of x-drive imo, just fit an lsd

100-200 time seems a bit off , like 9 seconds plus , is he running the E40 stage2+ map ?
Can't compare 100-200 here since it's on a track. With alot of elevations & compressions. + the track is 400meters above sea level
