    • @jacknoonan9172
      @jacknoonan9172 4 года назад +182

      He refers to them in multiple ways in Korean throughout the video ("our" kids, the kids, etc.), all of which end up being translated as "my kids" because it'd be unnatural to translate them in any other way.

    • @afreen5058
      @afreen5058 4 года назад +62

      Yeah he pretty much is saying "our kids" which in Korean, if you say "my cat" it sounds weird, you'd say "our cat" as in the cat in "our" house. In fact you'd say "our house" too. I can't explain why but it makes more sense to me that way too even though my mother speaks a different Asian language.
      So like he's not directly saying my kids, but rather "the kids we've got at home."

      Honestly, a lot of family members of NK refugees get beaten, tortured, or killed if their loved ones escape or attempt to. If you commit a crime, not only will your family and friends possibly get punished and killed, but three generations under you as well. Any crime or wrongdoing your great grandparent committed would instantly make you worth trash in NK, the minute you're born. That's because the Kim's believe in a 3 generational hierarchy like that. So if you commit a wrongdoing and have children, even their children will be looked down upon. You also have to have money, at least around $5000 (4,500,260 NK Won), to get help being smuggled out of the country. The majority of North Koreans are starving, literally most of them starve, and if they don't turn to illegal means of making money (which has a high risk of being put in a slave labor, torture concentration camp in itself) they will most likely die from starvation. So it is hard to even get this high amount of money to bribe. The money doesn't even cover the high emotional costs of abuse, sexual abuse, starvation, exploitation and other things that people put up with in order to escape. Most people get separated from family members trying to escape, if by capture, getting split up, or death.
      And that doesn't even cover daily horrors of North Korea like what goes on in concentration camps and abuse. And the hardships and the starvation of living there. All of that just covers trying to escape.

When I in high school, I will wake 5AM, leave at 6 AM and not get back untill 12 AM. I also had 2 or 3 hour of study after. I did no have time to eat proper meal. Hart 3192 I will when I’m older I want to work really hard and buy houses for people on the streets and homeless kids. Or people from other countries who have come here who need help. I’m 14 and go to Kenya sometimes where there are a lot of homeless children who are thrown out for disabilities and live on the streets rough. It opened my eyes when I was out with my parents and a few homeless came and my dad is kinda greedy sometimes and I don’t wanna be rude but he didn’t like giving out money to anyone but his mother and siblings so my mother pays for everything for us kids I don’t blame him tho. I made a scene in the restaurant and I wanted to give him money and I begged my parents but they said no and these people needed some food. I took my moms wallet and took a pound Ik that was wrong but I was desperate my mother shouted at me and I’ll never ever forget the look in the mans eyes liked he wanted help and I couldn’t help him. I remember the feeling in my heart i felt so empty and horrible and didn’t eat for the rest of the day. Some people are horrible

My thoughts during that time was that I just couldn't bring children into this kind of world that we live in, then I started watching videos of this nature and I thought, I should adopt because these children have no choice but to live in such a cruel world. Asian kids dont have as much free time as those of western countries. School time is longer and you have to attend after school classes so that might be why he does everything himself

      @@sharemain18 you're definitely right, but it's still normal for asian kids to do chores in the house. I think it'd be good for them to do little things, like doing their own dishes or sweeping their own rooms or something. Something not too time consuming.

      There is a video on RUclips were one student from England and one from South Korea switch places. South Korean kids study until late at night usually 11 pm. They end up in study cafe's after a couple of hard hours in school.

      At the beginning of the video you see the kids folding clothes and making their beds. I think they do help but depending on their schedule that day or maybe they all clean on weekends. We don’t know but I doubt the man does absolutely everything by himself (I hope not).

    Hi Kim sir, I'm speechless to watched your video. I don't know how you can be so kind and generous towards those kids . On top, the chef who visited was not to be forgotten. How would they be without you. One boy says he hasn't seen his 2 sis and his mother for very long times. Of course they are save with you but those who are still struggling in North Korea. Lets hope our Almighty God helps them. Fr India..nagaland. Lots of love.🙏
