The “steer by itself” is called Lane Keeping Assist System. It requires road lines to be visible. Still an excellent tool on long drives and works well even when the lines are faded. It will not steer by itself if it can’t make out the lines.
I just went from a black 2015 Lexus GS 350 Fsport, my lease was up! Picked up a 2018 white Accord sport 2.0 turbo, 10 speed trans! Honestly love it! I was amazed by the power and handling! Fun car to drive, totally satisfied!!
demikpre no, sinse the new 2018 Redesign came out every single model starting the the cheapest has Honda sensing which includes lane keep assist adaptive crews and everything that the touring has except for blind spot warning or monitoring which isn’t part of Honda sensing. You get blind spot warning EX and above or sport 2.0 and above.
I bought a 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T exactly like yours for the same reasons. I had a 2017 Audi A4 with 11K miles that Audi repurchased per California Lemon Law after it spent 2 1/2 months in the shop. I drove a Tesla model 3, but chose the Honda for the same repair turnaround problems you mentioned.
As much as I love the idea of Tesla, especially the fact that its an electric car, they need to make some improvements towards affordability before I'd consider one. The Model 3 may be "only $35,000", but that's before adding several features that are basically mandatory. For now, I'm a Honda Accord/Acura TLX guy.
Great vid. I did the same. Went from a Tesla Model S to a 2018 Accord Touring and love it. Mine came from the dealership with those very wheels you’re talking about getting. I love them and the look but I’m worried about pot holes in the spring as I just got the car 3 months ago so I might consider selling them with the tires. LMK if you or anyone else reading this is interested. I have 4K miles on them.
I'm thinking about buying the sport. Like you I'd worry about the low profile tires on bad roads and parking lots. I wonder if I could exchange them for 17 or 18 inch wheels at the dealer?
BethovanEnhancing Yes. I loved the Tesla but the range wasn’t enough for my daily driving. I will get another Tesla someday though. But I love my Honda now.
I had similar thoughts when I bought my Accord Hybrid. I was almost ready to pull the trigger to buy a Model S. It was about the same time when a Model S owner posted his $20k repair bill for a fender bender on the forums. I was laughed at by all my friends who knew I was about to buy a Tesla but bought a Honda instead.
Be careful tuning the car to a higher horsepower especially when the car is turbocharged, that can put a lot of pressure on the engine which can wear it out much faster.
I I mean if you’re going modify your gas car, you aren’t worried about the life of the motor. Now a diesel on the other hand, you’re better off deleting your diesel.
As long as the tune isnt ridiculous you should be fine. Another 2 to 3 psi on that turbo wont degrade the engine much faster than it already does to itself.
I have had a Civic Touring for about two years now and after using it as long as I have I firmly believe Honda crippled the sensing suite and it is actually capable of a lot more than what they allow you to do with it, pretty sure it is all a programing thing
I've owned a white version like yours since June and now have about 9k miles done. I share your sentiments exactly as spoken. Traded a white 2004 Acura TL for it. Cheers.
No it doesn't matter the horsepower you're not paying attention it's the torque they carry only has 260 lb of torque where the Honda has 278 put foot pounds of torque the Honda is 300 pounds lighter the Honda has a 10-speed automatic it is a couple tenths faster right out of the box and you put a hondata or K Pro little walk away from it like it's standing still wear the Toyota has no tuning methods not only that it handles better cuz you don't have that big V6 in the front of the car they even saying all the reviews the 4-cylinder Camry xse handles better than their V6 because of weight
Also to get the camera with the options of the Honda you got to spend $40,000 the Honda is only 36 cop out which will leave you money for tuning rims suspension Etc
Thanks for the review, man. I always enjoy an owner’s perspective. This car is my favorite Accord ever, in spite of the unibrow. I wonder if it’s possible to paint it, though. If I bought this car, it would be in this trim, most likely, and I would change nothing, except a light tint and the unibrow in body color, if possible. I think the standard 19 in wheels look way better than the black ones. In fact, the look of the standard 19s on the Touring is a major reason I like this car. Great car! Enjoy it, man!
Like he said, the after market support is very deep. Check ebay. They have a lot of add-ons for the car. Different color unibrows, films, etc. I have a 2.0 and it just puts a smile on my face when I drive.
You can easily change out those incandescent turn signals to LEDs. You will probably need to change out the signal light switch relay as well to an LED signal light relay switch ($10-20), which is super super easy to do.
First front wheel drive car to have a 10-speed automatic developed through Honda not a CVT not a dual-clutch an actual true automatic that is actually quicker than the manual transmission the car has opposite numbers of the b60 replace the torque is increased but the horsepower is down the torque is what you feel in the seat and with the hondata or the k Pro makes the car totally different experience and it's a Honda so you have reliability you could change the intercooler downpipe and midpipe front Pipe exhaust running on E85 Ethanol if you want and it's capable well over 350 horsepower Enterprise 200 pounds lighter than the V6 that every plate and walks away from on a dig roll does not matter the K series is an awesome motor
Sorry about the accident man. I have a 2018 Accord 2.0T Sport( 6 speed). Good car but needs better tires. If you plan on grabbing the Hondata you better invest in stickier tires otherwise its a waste of money as you are going to be wheel-hopping down the road. I break the tires loose on this car and its fully stock. Either way good luck with it. I went with the smoked accents(not a fan of the chrome uni-brow) as this coupled with the black is the best color choice in this car IMO.
Had a 94 300zx, had a 93 Supra, but as an every day car I love my 2012 accord V6 2 door coupe. I don't think I'm switching from Honda for a very long time.
Just got the Accord with a 1.5T. Not as sporty but the power is still very descent. The torque comes on very early so the engine does not have to rev high to climb steep hills, such as the area that I live in.
Seriously I’ve looked at Porsche, Infiniti, Jaguar, and Tesla I honestly personally like the 2019 Honda Accord sport. Not the 2.0 touring the regular sport trim in one of the blues and I like it better than any of those other brands I mentioned in the accords class. And I’m super picky when it comes to interior and body style and color even Mercedes my sister has one and I prefer the accord for what I would be paying versus any of those luxury brands the new accord just had a style that doesn’t compare. Gotta give it to Honda
I have the 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T 10AT, after a year and a half of ownership, I'm still enjoying driving this car. I drive in some traffic in Atlanta, the LKAS will engage at 25mph as will the adaptive cruise control, so I'm not sure what you are thinking when you say it doesn't work until 46mph. The power is very good, the 10AT is a dream of an automatic transmission, smooth, solid, responsive are just a few of the superlatives I can say about this transmission and when mated to the 2.0T, they are a great combo. BTW, I really like the auto-high beams along with the LED headlights. When it comes to the exterior lighting, the only thing that makes me wonder is why Honda didn't include LED rear turn indicators. I've also looked seriously into the Hondata or K-tuner flash upgrade options, but honestly, the stock power and torque are already very good. Not to mention you can eek out another 8-10hp just by filling up with premium fuel. Also, look for the Hondata dyno test, it shows a stock 2018 Accord putting out 265hp and 292 lb-ft of torque at the wheels! It's a great all around car, particularly for the $27k that I paid for mine brand new including several dealer installed accessories and tinted windows.
After our conversation, I was testing the LKAS feature and found that it would still steer the wheel below 45mph, in fact once it is engaged, it appeared to work down to around 35mph. Try yours and see what you find.

I went from a 2017 Alfa Romeo Guilia QV that I owned for 6 months to a new Accord like yours in June. I am shocked at how much I like the car. Surprisingly quick and enjoyable to drive. A friend of mine told me about the Hondata also but I think it will just cause excessive wheel spin and torque steer so prob won’t do it.
James Speer I absolutely loved the way the Alfa drove but I didn’t have faith in the car long term and ended up just wanting to get out if the car because some of the issues I experienced. The brakes had this weird noise and feel right as the car came to a stop, the power seat control on both sides of the $3,000 optional carbon fiber Sparco racing seats fell out, occasionally the car wouldn’t go into RACE mode, the tires were 50% worn at 3500 miles, and finally I swore I was hearing like a very minor differential whine or something starting. That being said, the car was tight and rattle free, had one if the best paint jobs I’ve ever seen, and handled like an all out supercar (once the sticky P Zero tires had some heat in them) while riding like a dream. The scariest part with the car to me was the fact that there were so many service recalls/bulletins/campaigns out in the car and some of them (such as the issue with the carbon ceramic brakes) didn’t even have a solution or fix yet 😬 I’ve been a big Honda fan since I was a kid and even worked at a Honda dealer in high school/college so I often go back to Honda’s when I don’t have my eye on some other more exotic/interesting car and every time I’m immediately impressed with the engineering they put behind their cars especially at the price point. The new Accord is the best ever.....handling/ride/steering is their best ever. I wasn’t sure how long it would be before I’d tire of the new Accord but after 7 months and 11k miles of driving I am shocked at how impressed I still am with everything it does.....and that it can actually be an entertaining car for even car enthusiasts makes it a big win in my book 👍🏻
jameswillard1 hello. The new Accord has the 2.0 or the 1.5? I'm guessing the larger. I think there is beauty in every car and it's hard to pit one against the other. But one has to be open-minded and try different cars. That said, all manufacturers are only building one set of cars this year and I don't think everything being done is better than what they did before. I really wish cars were getting spectacularly better across all makes but that's just not happening. Instead, a maker is focusing on a a small set of characteristics to make it stand out from the crowd. The Alfa had to have had some major negative camber and toe settings that gave it great handling but that came at the expense of tire wear. And with power, most Americans are still buying really cheap gas and so they want 0-60 in 5 seconds at the expense of economy. You really can't have everything. I got a new Civic Hatchback with 6MT and I really would have preferred an Accord hatch or wagon but they don't make it. The Civic is nice but the biggest problem is the turbo. Honda designed good cooling for the engine and it runs a bit too cool for winter. Older Japanese cars like Civics and Mazdas warmed up quickly and lasted forever. That was due to precise tolerances for piston to wall clearances. Now with the turbo and direct injection there is oil dilution and it takes ten minutes to warm up. The gearing is not even ideal for the highway. So my car is basically only made for city use and for long errands. I also need a garage now ideally so the car can keep warm overnight. In the big picture Americans are given so many options and they so often get lost in their primitive impulses to compete and show off strength: hence the Hellcat and Shelby Mustangs that have far more power than anyone would ever need, even to just have fun. I believe these new Hondas are at least trying to achieve proper balance of comfort, safety, longevity, power, and economy as well as good looks and I admire Honda attitudes at design and manufacturing level so they are bound to get better results compared to other makes. One thing I don't like is that they limit your choice in the audio system to accessorize or modify it and when my Chinese made side mirror broke from impact with another car, they wanted 550 for a new one and it doesn't even have a camera so it seemed high. My mechanic bought it for half that: 275. So again you see them falling into making max profits at the expense of the customer. Hopefully it lasts long but I may go with a new Mazda 3 sooner mainly due to a quieter cabin and better audio system. My tire wear over 25k has been superb. The Conti's hardly have that much wear and this is mainly testament to the smart suspension settings and design. Enjoy your Accord. I enjoy sitting in them at the dealer. They are very attractive.

Daniel Mikhail.....I've read about the Honda 1.5 liter DI turbo in the CRV having oil dilution issues along with reports of the Civic. It gets worse in colder climates. I would keep my eyes on this and watch the carbon bulid up with that DI turbo. The Accord is a sweet car and I hope all is well with that model.

I have the 2019 accord touring 2.0t in radiant red metallic. Its a seriously quick car and nearly perfect on features. My only complaint is no heated steering wheel on usa versions and no rear usb ports for phone charging. Other than that its nearly perfect. Interior space is greater than some full size cars. Seriously roomy car. Also very sporty for a sedan.
That's one massive flaw that nobody cares when lying their ass off on stage, how actually inconvenient it is to fix the Tesla, they have no facilities or anything to help customers.

@@rc9361 I actually traded my 15 si in on my 17 Accord and find it much more comfy on long trips. Whereas before my butt would get sore. It must have a little more cushion.
The “steer by itself” is called Lane Keeping Assist System. It requires road lines to be visible. Still an excellent tool on long drives and works well even when the lines are faded. It will not steer by itself if it can’t make out the lines.
You won't regret it. I have a 2007 Honda Accord V6 with almost 300000 miles on it, I still drive it daily with very little issues!
I just went from a black 2015 Lexus GS 350 Fsport, my lease was up! Picked up a 2018 white Accord sport 2.0 turbo, 10 speed trans! Honestly love it! I was amazed by the power and handling! Fun car to drive, totally satisfied!!
Even the base model has Honda sensing
i believe the first year or so it was a option until they made standard across all models
demikpre no, sinse the new 2018 Redesign came out every single model starting the the cheapest has Honda sensing which includes lane keep assist adaptive crews and everything that the touring has except for blind spot warning or monitoring which isn’t part of Honda sensing. You get blind spot warning EX and above or sport 2.0 and above.
I've got Honda Sensing in my 2019 Insight EX. It's really cool!
Gary65437 I’m sure. Just ask them.
Adam O'Dwyer do you still stand by your choice of swapping the Honda over the Tesla.
The accord is finally looking great again! Good choice bro!
Be careful tuning the car to a higher horsepower especially when the car is turbocharged, that can put a lot of pressure on the engine which can wear it out much faster.
Mas M yeah and it's way fast enough. It's the 2.0
I I mean if you’re going modify your gas car, you aren’t worried about the life of the motor. Now a diesel on the other hand, you’re better off deleting your diesel.
Yes ,
Not a lot of people realize how much stress the engine is taking.
Just bought me a 2020 accord sport 2.0 and I can't wait. I love it !!!
Huge TESLA believer. Have to agree 100!!!!! I LOVE this style of the Honda Accord. Love the lines 2.0 as well.
I have a 2.0 and it just puts a smile on my face when I drive.
kgs12 Thanks
Honda Accord 2.0T Touring ftw! I love mine. It's sleek, quick, affordable and Honda reliability make for a winning combination.
Thank you for this video, I have a 2018 Honda Accord all black, I love my car.
Honda accord is the best car ever made on earth!💯
You can easily change out those incandescent turn signals to LEDs. You will probably need to change out the signal light switch relay as well to an LED signal light relay switch ($10-20), which is super super easy to do.
Bro I’ve got the same car, year and trim and I’m in love with it man. Really great purchase
Somebody rear ended my grandparents in there 2005 accord EX and my grandmother says she want another Honda or a Hyundai but she wants a Honda way more
Nice car bro, I love the 2018 Accords especially the 2.0T Touring!
I like your touring. I just picked up a 1.5l Sport 6 speed as a daily driver. So far so good.
Great video! Quality and reliability always win. Thanks for the honesty.
Agree! My 2018 Touring 2.0T in Crystal Black Pearl rocks!
the wood pieces in the doors and the cream leather seats make it look like a luxurious car
I like the v6 accord like the 2012 Accord coupe 3.5v6 geared to a 6spd manual. Pretty quick only thing is around 300hp to front wheels, but it's ok.
More like 270 HP. Now that it's 7 to 8 years old, it is probably making 260HP.
@@msiddi01 ok i thought it made more power because the 2013 tl makes around 300 and is a j series. or sorry that one is 3.7 instead of 3.5
Just got the Accord with a 1.5T. Not as sporty but the power is still very descent. The torque comes on very early so the engine does not have to rev high to climb steep hills, such as the area that I live in.
You forgot to mention the touring has a head up display also and wireless phone charging.
S2kDude36 this is what is on Honda’s website... owners.honda.com/utility/download?path=/static/pdfs/2018/Accord%20Sedan/2018_ACCORD_FHEV_LKAS.pdf
@@danielmikhail2701 Thanks for letting me know.
After our conversation, I was testing the LKAS feature and found that it would still steer the wheel below 45mph, in fact once it is engaged, it appeared to work down to around 35mph. Try yours and see what you find.
I have a Ex-L. Love my Accord. And I’m in NOVA also
not just Teslas, but anything with aluminum bodies (Porsches, Range Rovers, etc.) will spend a while in the body shop (for now)
New Ford pickup trucks, too.
@@catlovermarty a Chevy Silverado rear-ended my father's Isuzu ascender; my father's car came out with minor scratch and small minimum damage while Silverado was wrecked and needed a tow.
Steve Jayvion JARED Leslie and Afsheen! That’s because front ends crumple in a crash to save lives and rear ends are solid steal bumpers to prevent death or rear passengers.
Yeah I agree with you on the issue of repairs. Love the 3 but I'll probably end up buying a pehv or a civic/accord
I like your presentation and video style. you kinda helped me take the final decision, shoukran ;)
Love everything about this accord except that 10 speed auto. I just don’t trust honda’s transmission anymore but that engine is great though.
The fact that the accord can literally be modified more than the tesla, and by their own companies is great
Agreed. Also I appreciate the Miku pic
That's why I bought a 2018... reliable daily driver that's good on gas and looks pretty good. I would upgrade with 20 inch wheels...
@ericj305 I've seen 22's on without lowering but looked too big....a 21 inch would be perfect
Tony Tanti at 21 inches would he need to adjust height?
@@mrniz461 nope....check video with accord with 22 inch wheels....no lowering
I went from a 2017 Alfa Romeo Guilia QV that I owned for 6 months to a new Accord like yours in June. I am shocked at how much I like the car. Surprisingly quick and enjoyable to drive. A friend of mine told me about the Hondata also but I think it will just cause excessive wheel spin and torque steer so prob won’t do it.
jameswillard1 what did you think of the Alfa? Hondata is only advised with manual transmissions and even then causes clutch wear issues.
The scariest part with the car to me was the fact that there were so many service recalls/bulletins/campaigns out in the car and some of them (such as the issue with the carbon ceramic brakes) didn’t even have a solution or fix yet 😬
I’ve been a big Honda fan since I was a kid and even worked at a Honda dealer in high school/college so I often go back to Honda’s when I don’t have my eye on some other more exotic/interesting car and every time I’m immediately impressed with the engineering they put behind their cars especially at the price point.
GREETINGS FROM MEXICO .... i got this beast bout 5 months ago.......im so happy....its an amazing machine.... much better than any audi , mercedes or bmw of its class. i paid 26000 for it..... JUST LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do like Honda. I wish they offered the fully loaded one in a manual.
I have this same exact car same exact color. Tinted out my window which topped off an already bad ass look this car has. I love driving my car
All new Accord trims are loaded with Honda Sensing, not only the Touring.
I've had my 18 Accord for a year the car is great Honda makes a solid car.
Honda is never flashy like Toyota or Mazda etc, but they are so good to drive, really comfortable, well built and ever so reliable.
Excellent choice. Strongly recommend you an oil catch can. That will help you on the long run.
tesla is horrible when it comes time to actually work on the car.
That's right, not an Audi A7 - Honda could run forever for a lot less $$$. Good looking car.
Best decision! I never liked the car with a lot of electronic stuff, that is easy to broken or failures. Accord will be my next car... Thanks for the review!
2018 Accord Sport owner here. Love my Accord. Fantastic ride, low ownership cost and alot of fun to drive. Did you get those windows tinted yet? I live in Texas and its a must have!!!
I have a 1.5 and in Sports mode sometimes is scary to drive, It has so much power is crazy, Definetly feel the difference once you switch!
Nah not too much power, you're just not a car guy.
@@Hisham23633 lol
You extremely exaggerating
Good thing for Andres that it's not a 1.6....
It’s definitely speedier than most cars on the road but yeah lol.
Civic Si, over 13,000 miles driven HARD. No oil dilution. Honda recommends an oil additive every other oil change and so far no problems.
Every Honda I've had has been a fantastic car, Good choice!
i got a 2001 accord with 230k miles on it. very reliable if you treat them right
v6
Good on you for saying this bro....my buddy is dealing with an accident with his tesla and same shit, 3 plus months with his car in the shop 5 hours away
I suggest ktuner. Same power gains but if you ever decide to upgrade to another accord, civic si/type R you can use the same device for those cars. The flash pro you would have to sell and then buy another one specific to that vehicle.
Cant go wrong with honda they are reliable af i got a 92 accord thts been in the family since new its my commute to work car 312,000 k on it still going strong
That is one bad ass car. The front end reminds me of the Audi RS5.
You made the right choice, I have one . I used to have a Camry.. but Honda is a more sporty car
That is the EXACT Accord I plan to buy. Even the color. That Modern Steel is my favorite color on the Accord. They are beautiful cars, and a whole lot of "bang for the buck".
Initially I was shocked how ugly this car looked. One day after a couple months this car went from ugly to awesome! It was a funny Jedi mind trick that Honda pulled on me. This happened to me when BMW changed there design in like 2001 . Enjoy this sweet ride!
Cameras don't do it justice but I just bought mine and it's the same model as the video except it's pearl white with all the trim deck out. Truly impressive lines on the car and you really have to appreciate it up close.
Everybody that sees it up close is Amazed by it I find that really odd.... and it's freaking fast when you can get the traction down
I think it looks very strong at the front! the rear quarter is a bit awkward though.. Anyways overall, its one of the best looking cars in the last 10 years :P
Josh me too🤣
Josh but the new camry has always been beautiful!
Just a quick note, your TL didnt have a dual clutch. It's on the 2015 onward 4cyl TLX. Good to have you on team Honda.
You earned my sub. Great review. Please do a review after you tune it.
I prefer the manual transmission of the accord more. It's such a joy to drive it.
Great buy Honda makes awesome cars
Honda Accord is the best mid-size sedan in the US/Canadian markets. Congrats on your purchase.
10 speed auto >>>> CVT. I hate CVTs. Great looking car. If I was in the market though, I’d get the 6 speed manual. Just me.
That's one massive flaw that nobody cares when lying their ass off on stage, how actually inconvenient it is to fix the Tesla, they have no facilities or anything to help customers.
I love this car
Good choice going with a Honda Accord. It is a Beautiful Car!
What cam is that? really good quality video.
I drove that car. It's amazing. You did it right.
Man all that power that car has is enough ! It beat's most of all the v6 car out there. Having a hondata is to much power why you need all of that..that rear taillight are actually nice something different with all other cars you see specially at night. the touring trim is more nicer...
This car is so awesome (2.0L Sport) I'm ignoring the dash rattle. Seems on cold days, lower revs, almost buzzing. Not all the time.
One of 3 things; You were either focused on that 17" screen, need new glasses, or wanted to t-bone the other car to step into the Accord. Sweet upgrade though!
A model S to and Accord. You side graded. Not up, not down, you side graded. Lol both nice cars.
I love the new Accord, maybe one day in a year or so I can finance one. Maybe once I graduate HS or so.
