4K CABVIEW: Sunny spring afternoon on the Bergen Line hauling freight
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 30 апр 2024
- It's a sunny spring afternoon on the Bergen Line and today I'm hauling a freight train from the Terminal in Bergen to Ål, where it will be a crew change. The train will continue to Alnabru freight terminal in Oslo. Composition of the train is:
2x Bombardier TRAXX F160 AC3, 17 cars totalling 616m and 1343 tonns. Maximum speed allowed with this composition is 100km/h.
The shift starts at 5pm at the Terminal in Bergen where we assemble the tran and do the break testing before heading off. Departure time is 7:12pm and arrival at Ål is 11:08pm. This time of year it never gets really dark in Norway.
The big difference in this video compared to others I have done, is that you get to see the coupling between loco and cars and not to mention that I've swapped out the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K for a Sony FX3. A huge difference when it comes to noise and visibility in the tunnels. There shalt never be darkness again.

Wow simply wow. The image quality is spectacular. So good to see the route in better weather and, after so long with various amounts of lock down, with more people out and about. The time to record and edit this alone must have been substantial, without the problems getting this to upload. The scenery is as stunning as ever of course, but in even more detail. Thanks so much for doing this.
Yep. The passenger numbers on the line is still 10% lower than before the pandemic. But things are getting better. Now lets hope the spiraling inflation and interests don't destroys everything
Yes BIG AGREEMENT, more details during the beautiful weather and eventally with her new camera - the best! Dangerously crystal clear! My opinion is its LOT more than 4k screen. I would say like 10 to 100K screen. :) Pure ULTRA!
Good to see another scenic video from Norway. You are truly dedicated in doing this and consistent. Thanks.
2:45 that little shunter engine popping by saying hello. Adorable.
CargoNETs little shunter is an adorable little thing :D
This was definitely worth the wait. The views in the bright sunshine are just stunning. And the details are as crisp as I’ve ever seen. Great work, and thank-you.
Thank you so much!
Nagyon tetszik a videó. Kb milyen hosszú a szerelvény.
I really love your videos. I'm 75 and retired and have always liked watching trains. I truly love when the crossing gates come down. Thank you!!!
Thank you very much!
I'm looking at the insane 4K picture quality and am thinking you must be relieved that you don't have to upgrade your cameras any more because this is as good as you can get! Is it? Thank you for the investment you make in your time and money to bring us such amazing work!
Thanks! RCG… you are a true professional in every way possible. The effort you put forth is very much appreciated. Your video quality is at the highest scale. Looking forward to your continuing travels! THANK YOU! 🌈🎉
I am glad you and us viewers get to see the light of day in the spring and summer months. I see there has been a lot of upgrades along the tracks.
Back on the train with RailCowGirl. If you don't enjoy this, well I feel sorry for you. If you upset, this will relax you. If you are having problems sleeping, the sound of the train will help you get to sleep. If you want scenic travel at its best, here it is.
Here for the sleep 😴 scenic travel when I wake its a win win
I looked up specs on the Bombardier TRAXX locomotives. Most impressive. I am greatly impressed of the entire system. Fantastic! I appreciate everything you do for all of us. You are the best! ❤
Your videos are so good and so interesting, I almost feel as if I've actually visited Norway. If I was younger and healthier, I'd book a ticket as soon as possible and spend some time exploring Norway. Your videos made me want to see more of this wonderful country.
After all the difficulties you encountered uploading this episode I'm glad to see to all finally worked out. Thank you RailCowGirl...
For now.. I bet I have to endure the same madness for the next video. They will do nothing with their systems
I live in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A. During my Navy career I have been to Trondheim and Hammerfest in 1976 and Bergen in 1994. I haven't been to Norway's interior. After completing this video, MY GOD! What a wondrously beautiful country you have! Absolutely stunning! Thank you for this!
Fantastic new quality ! I think I have now watched all your older videos, and enjoyed them immensely. Thank you for doing all this work.
I'm proud to be a new supporting member. My brother (just retired), father and grandfather all drove trains in Germany. Josef drove steam, Hans electric, and Wolfgang electric and diesel. No FLIRT, they seem to prefer the Siemens train in Germany.
Riding along next to the "number 1 seat" was always a great experience. Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof was tricky, it's like Oslo Sentralstasjon where you end up sitting right in front of all the people at the terminal, and the Railroad Police frown on ride-alongs. I had always bought a ticket beforehand, which kept me out of trouble with the Deutsche Bahn. Lots of similarities with VY in signaling and train operation. Not at all similar to Norfolk-Southern, which has trains passing near my house every day here in Georgia, USA.
Ride safe always !(horn blow)
I told my mom who is 93 years old that I was subscribed to, and watched your channel. She was delighted at what you do!
That's awesome! Say hi to her for me :D
@@RailCowGirl She thanks you!
Hey Christine
Thank you for your new story about the Bergen Railway. From the first to the last minute one could be with you and experience what your passion is. Details such as counting the turns on the screw coupling are anything but trivial when you have almost 1,500 tons. on the hook. Then the ascent from spring into the mountains where winter is at home. After Finse the liberation, now it goes downhill. The train pushes from behind. The incomparable landscape. She steals so much power. The wonderful lighting conditions. I envy and admire you. Stay the way you are and take care of yourself.
Some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen! Thank you for sharing. You have to enjoy your job!
Thank you for another wonderful portrait of the Bergen line, in its ever changing appearances thanks to time of day, weather, season & logging! As beautiful as the intitial Sun-lit parts were, my favourite part was the reflection of the pink sky in the melting lake before Ustaoset.
Many thanks!
Great music to enjoy the trains
Simply awesome quality, and stunning scenery. Thanks for all of your work!
Wow! That camera/lens combination is insane! Well done and thank you for another fantastic trip.
Yep, it is completely insane :D
Never gets old! Have taken this ride with you ‘1,000’s’ of times and Norways’s beauty is always in abundance. The 4K image is stunning. Thank you for sharing with us all.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
@@RailCowGirl No… THANK YOU! Your 4K videos are far superior to any on RUclips. ‘Master at Work.’ Take Care, stay safe.
I've been watching RCG since the channel had a different name, and I am very impressed with the stunning quality of the video in this post and of course, the spectacular landscape. Somehow you've managed to take the quality to a new height. RCG you do all of us a great service with these extraordinary videos. Thank you! Cheers.
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You are superbly Blessed to have a job where you get to see so much of Norway's spectacular scenery! And we, your viewers, are immensely grateful that you choose to share your experiences with us! Thank You!!
Thanks! 😃
Love your beautiful country RCG ! The small towns and less busy roads make me wish I were
there. I believe the air must always be fresh and clean.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊 !
It is. Thanks for watching :)
My new learning from this video: your locomotives can move under their own power for a short time while not under catenary. Neat!
Both the BR187 and Eurodual has this capability.
The BR187 has this functionality for use to get to an from tracks without overhead wire, with a last mile battery unit to get out of the workshop without polluting the whole building with exhaust. The Last Mile Functionality is not made to pull whole trains for longer distances.
The Eurodual on the other hand has a full diesel engine as well that we can use when needed. :)
Thanks for posting these amazing videos, and showing of beautiful Norway. Really liked the shunting and building of the train in the start.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
what a beautiful place to live and work...
It really is!
So cool!! Thanks for posting this! Love the tunnels and cuts. ➕ Have a great weekend!!!
I love your videos and I love your country. im a big fan of your videos. Thank You from Michigan USA.
Video quality is exceptional. Thanks so much for continuing to make and post these videos. Have a great weekend!
Another wonderful video of beautiful Norway. Our railways here in New Zealand are a shadow of their former self, but some of the scenery is quite spectacular too.
My sister has become addicted to your channel & said you do beautiful photography. I agree & can't wait for your next video!
Yaaaay! Thank you ❤️ and say hello from me :)
Hi RCG, I just managed a 10 min taster on my laptop but I've decided to wait
until tomorrow when I can watch it undisturbed in all it's 4k glory on a BIG
screen, so far it looks blooming great, well worth the wait but I'm not surprised
you always deliver, well done and thanks.
Excellent trackwork......smooth ride........fine locomotives.....having done a lot of Penn Central cab rides in my life.....I'm slowly learning your signal system your videos are so clear and informative....I
Thank you!!! It's actual 60fps footage with no stutter!! Thanks for sorting that out RailCowGirl :)
It cost 5000$ to fix it and have that quality. You're welcome.
@@RailCowGirl Wow. That's a lot of money. In that case thank you X10000, it really does look amazing :)
As I watch these Bombardier TRAXX locomotives, they remind me of my earlier days at Unisys Corporation. We had a term for things like these locomotives. We call them "amazingly adequate". I am now a big fan of these trains and, of course, the lovely Railcowgirl. Rock on!
Great video CowGirl, especially liked the beginning coupling up and engaging air hoses and such. Those were some seriously close clearances passing by those containers, squeaked by. Thanks for posting this video, enjoyed it.
Hello From Santa Barbara California where its always blue skies and 70 degrees! Mad respect girl.. love your vids thanks..
Hello :)
You are blessed! I wish I had your job!! The scenery, peaceful, no idiot coworkers. 😁🤪I’m picking up on the meaning of the signs watching your vids and also just started enjoying Train Sim 2! Haha! God bless, from Michigan, USA.
Got home from my morning walk, in the rain, and got your FB notification. Sat down immediately to watch this beautiful sunny afternoon! Thank you, D, for persisting with YT to get this posted! Well worth the wait, 😍.
Enjoy!
wow! what fabulous scenery!
thankyou very much
Glad you enjoyed it
Ah, what is more satisfying then seeing RCG couple a freight train at 6 am on a Sunday morning...
Good to see you again RCG, Thank you !
Hi RCG, you never cease to amaze the audience. I confess to being amazed, by the excellent quality of the video, it is evident that you have very good equipment and you know how to make a very professional use of it. Of the beautiful, wild and harmonious landscapes, well it is redundant and reiterated to ponder it. You are blessed by God, to be surrounded by beautiful nature. I appreciate observing the good disposition and management in the maintenance of the materials and equipment of tracks and railway works. How always grateful for sharing your videos, which are part of your existence. Good luck dear lady. 👍
Thank you so so much ❤️❤️❤️
Video quality is superb. The best cab rides on RUclips.
Many thanks.
Excellent storytelling again KSD! 😉 You are THE ONE!
another awesome journey RCG well worth the time to watch
Just starting on the video - loving the real-life driver intro with your coffee 😆 And all the info on what's happening. Very nice so far! 👌🏻
Many thanks for showing us the trip in early summer. The countryside looks wonderful in the late evening light. I look forward to the remainder of the trip into Oslo.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
owesome journey with view keep it up this is Indian Railways Fan club support it...😊🙏😊
Thank you so much for impressive section prior to journey , that underlines physical difficulties of your task as well .. Congrats young lady .. Stay healthy
Thank you! Stay healthy
Good morning from Michigan USA. I like the new look inside tunnels. I am happy to be a supporter of your channel. Have a great day.
Thank you :D So glad you liked it :D
3:44:18 Left on the rock. A green heart for you💚👍
6 minutes and 12 seconds in, and I'm already happy. What more can I say?
Good moment to view this nice day on spring . Thank you.😀
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for sharing this with us. I live in Newcastle Australia and your scenery is awesome.✅🇦🇺
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome tunnel views. So much more detail. It's like you can feel it. WOW!
Thank you very much!
It's good to see the green again at the lower elevations. Nice ride. Thank you
I so agree.. finally spring and summer :D
That was a great ride.
Appreciate seeing the coupling process, so much different than North America. I always wondered about the European couplers, now I know!
Just a perfect day for photography and video, that late afternoon and evening warm sunlight is just the best. Also the angle of the sun brings out just enough shadows so you really get the feeling of depth. The landscape stuff can be tricky, what the eye sees and what the camera sees can be a lot different.
Your videos are helping me stay sane in a crazy world!
Wonderful - just wonderful!!! Thanks so much - worth all the frustration and waiting. xxx
Thank you so much!
My mate way hauling 27tonnes of pipe to Oslo the other day and sent me some videos of the E16 above the line, absolutely stunning planning a visit to Bergen and Forde next year
Breathtaking and soothing. Your videos are truly a gift.
Wow, thank you!
Truly Truly an amazing video from start to end....
Glad you liked it
Super awesome film and beautiful views and also great to see our Railpool locomotives in action. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
Most excellent, RCG! Loved the way you chased the setting sun up the mountain, culminating with a last ray of sunlight in a snowshed. Fortunately others have asked my questions that you've answered already (couplers, diesel operations, train length), I think I already know why you didn't sound the horn a couple of times!
Thanks a lot!
amazing 4k quality, loved it.
Great stuff again Rail Cow Girl.Very sharp especially on the shots featuring rapids. You are still the best,by far.
these are the best type of train videos, thanks really en joy, get feel and understanding of this trade
Thank you :D

Thanks for adding in the shunting. always interesting to me to see the moves.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for your support! ❤️
Great to have another video from you, RCG! And it's cool to start with shunting. Funny, the very first time I heard this, strange to me then, term was in your video from 26 november 2017, "TRAIN DRIVER'S VIEW: Evening information run between Ål and Voss", which still is one of my favourite vids.
Glad you enjoyed it!
have a awesome week rcg and thanks for the ride
Thanks, you too!
Looking great ❤
Thank you 😊
The video clarity is amazing. Thank you.
Thank you!
Beautiful ride, amazing views and different landscapes. What is Norway 🇳🇴 a beautiful country! Thank you 🙏🏼
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow,You work in an Amazing part of the world. I guess you would never get tired of the view.Cheers.
You got that right! Thanks for watching!
Cool, caught a glimpse of the moose! Interesting to see the change from no snow on the ground to there being snow on the ground as you climb. Loved this one, thanks!
Thank you. RailCowGirl.
Perfect !!!! Thank You!!!!
Thank you :D
Love your video's thank you :) Mostly relaxing but the winter snow one was scary! great job
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely first class vid camera work and editing. You're doing a damn good job all round Ms Girl :) .🤩
Beautiful bright at night.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you thank you thank you!! 😊😘
You are so welcome!
@@RailCowGirl 😊
And I never get tired of the Finse tunnel and secret spur.
Thanks, so happy you like it! :D
Thanks R C G. Love the videos.
Splendid Film. 616 meter and 1343 ton thats quite a monstertrain at Bergensbana. That line is curvy and steep. Its no easy task to drive a train at that size on that line.
Note:
The first yellow trailer behind the locomotives is a coffe trailer.
If RCG's train would have a breakdown, at least she will have plenty of coffe.
Thats the stoff that keep the railroad going.
Thank you, Paul ❤️
The video quality is amazing. Definitely worth the wait.
Yay, thank you!
Today’s view was fun watching your progress via google maps. When you show the upcoming station, I search for it in and look at where you are on the tracks then try to figure out what direction you are going. Looking for where you go into tunnels and where you come out is challenging. Sometimes I get lost until I see the next station.. lots of fun❣️thank you
Stunning scenery. I'd love to visit Norway again.
You should! :D
@@RailCowGirl I was there many years ago with my school and stayed in chalets on the Hardangerfjord. Maybe one day :)
Ooh, I love that elevation graph at the beginning. The steep climb from Voss to Myrdal also speaks to the climb from Flåm. I also did not realize that Gol is the point where the climb begins in earnest in the other direction. I had thought that past Ål was where the climb began. Cool! I will be more aware of how everything changes with elevation, now that I know where the sharp ascents and descents are.
The light inside the tunnels - woohoo! All this time you were not in the dark when going through tunnels. 😄
Thanks a lot for watching!
This was fantastic, thank you very much :) 🚂🚃🚃🚃
Glad you enjoyed it
What a job driving a train with that view, but then a thought occured to me, they know what's around the next corner. Lucky sods!
Wow. Love the video quality. Can definitely tell a difference. Great video as always 😊
Thanks so much 😊
absolutly stunning .gives me so much peace thankyou .RailCowGirl
That is a fantastic cab view video, you obviously know how to use your camera equipment very well indeed. That is also an amazing line (Bergen to Oslo) to travel, now on my bucket list! I've travelled on the Flam line a long time ago so the scenery around Mydal was familiar. Bright sunshine in Bergen yard to a snowfield all in one run, and the tunnels were very interesting. Thank you for posting these videos, it was pure magic to watch.
Beautiful long video!
Thank you beautiful ride
Thank you!
Beautiful video! And oh my word, that was a long train.
Thank you very much!
I thought the change to the Black Magic Cinema 6K camera was awesome.... this camera blows the Black Magic out of the water... simply incredible... I swear I could do rock id on the fly. Mega Kudos!!!
It sure does. There is a huge difference from the BMPCC, both in sensor size and technology. The BMPCC has a Super 35 sized sensor with 6K resolution whilst the Sony FX3 has a 35mm full size sensor with 4K. With a bigger sensor and fewer pixels, more light hit's the pixels :D This gives you much better low light capabilities :D
