4K CABVIEW: Scenic Train Ride On The Bergen Line With A Twist: Diverted Over The Gjøvik Line!

- During the summer the Scenic train ride on the Bergen Line gets diverted over the Gjøvik Line due to major maintenance work on being done on the railway network in and around Oslo. The west corridor is usually closed for weeks at time whilst heavy renewal is being done to make the network more robust and less maintenance demanding in the future.
During this period all trains to and from the Bergen Line and freight trains going to the South Line is being diverted over the Gjøvik Line via ROa between Oslo and Hønefoss. Theg Gjøvik Line is in fact part of the original Bergen Line.

Yeah, the capacity is just completely blown. They have done major improvements to the line over the years, but at the same time they've increased the amount of traffic there... all of this leads to what? Status quo... no difference what so ever. lol so when the diversion starts again, it'll be just as crazy.

First I was thinking that it would be really nice to have a "double-video" of the Bergen Line: A "heavy-snow-version" on the left and a "summer-version" on the right side. Then I thought about the required synchronization nightmare, and then I thought "maybe that's not the best of all ideas". ;)

Thank you :D I agree with you. The interesting thing is the stark difference in the topography from the east side and west side of the country. We have a ridge of mountains splitting the country in two, so the best views are absolutely when you go through the mountains.
I do have a some videos where I have done what you're asking for, but not like split :) just transitions between the different seasons as we go :D

Hello RCG, it's nice to enjoy a new video from you again. Thank you for that👍👍. However, I wonder why there are so many GreenCargo locomotives standing around in Alnabru, given that the company left Norway headlong in the first quarter of 2023...🤬
Maybe because this video was from the summer before they left ;) But, yes, there are still GreenCargo locos around since they are stilling hauling freight between Sweden and Norway, but nothing domestic in Norway, and that they're just using Swedish employees for it. They don't have any official business in Norway anymore.
